local shop or online

how do people prefer to shop for their piece?

I like to give my local shop business, but they are not heavy into vapes. For example, I had my Pax 7 months before they ever carried them. I tend to jump on the newest vapes quickly, so I usually buy direct from manufacturers of vapes online.

I also troll the classifieds here

I find myself shopping on line. I would prefer to shop in person, IF we had more local shops.

my local shops are nothing more than off-brand and extremely overpriced, of course, I'm in the heart of the bible belt so not much i can do there. online is pretty much the only way i can get a good deal.

or i could purchase the same item in store at a near 200% markup, I'll pass...

I always shop online because I know more about vaporizers than any of the LHS employees or owners around me and the markup is ridiculous. I recently saw a LSV for $300 and a solo for $280.

For glass, I've gotten mostly LHS, and a couple of small pieces online.

I think for the cost of good glass, I prefer to look at it, ponder it, pull through it, etc., before plunking down what I consider to be serious money.

Vaporizers I've gotten entirely online EXCEPT for the stupid "WAM oil" pen vape that I hated. That was a dispensary purchase.

Most shops near me only carry cheap stuff from china at huge markups and not many have vaporizers when they do they treat them more as a novelty and prices are outrageous so It's on line for me.

I buy everything online because I dislike crowds, and most people in general. Not you guys of course...I love you all

I have yet to get the same level of service at any of my LHS that I get online with pretty much every online shop.

Oh yeah, don't forget no waiting or lines.

Its funny, I never got an interest in vapes BECAUSE I used to only shop at physical stores. When I was combusting, I had quite the collection of hand blown glass, and I enjoyed going into specialty shops to look at and handle the glass in person. I felt that buying online limited my ability to pick what I really wanted.

Anyway, as was said, the physical shops that sell glass usually have a small vape selection and a less then knowledgable staff. Typically theres a dusty $800 Volcano on a shelf, with a bunch of no name mystery vapes below it. Not really something that sparked my interest.

Unfortunately there are very few head/vaporizer shops near where I live. The shops which do sell vaporizers tend only to have a very limited selection of dirt cheap ones, as apparently the demand for vaporizers remains too low to justify stocking the higher priced models. My nearest shop does however offer to buy any vaporizer on your behalf from online sites, for a small mark-up of course, which I guess is good for people who require stealth. But personally, I prefer not to pay the extra and just order for myself. So, whilst I would prefer to shop in person to really get a feel for the quality of a vaporizer and accessories, lack of choice means I always buy online.

Since you said piece, I'm going to assume you just meant glass.

Lots of head shops around here (non-medical state) and most have insane markups on glass. The only time I actually shop is on 4/20 or other days that they have sales... you know when prices are where they should always be. I've bought a few pieces locally, but only when they were on sale. Otherwise I avoid the mostly uneducated people that work at those types of places; people in one local shop tried to tell me honeycomb perc, leviathan lattice, and fritted disc were all the same perc

I generally order glass online from reputable resellers or glass blowers. My favorite place to get glass is right here in the FC classifieds! Everybody wins, one person gets a good deal and the other gits rid of a piece that they probably wouldn't have been able to otherwise sell. Watch the classifieds for long enough and your bound to find something you want.

Mark up's are insane , I try to go to my local glass blowers to get great deals and quality glass, or at times on line due to the awesome people on Fc reporting back with successful purchases and pics and vids. I got friends that own glass shops and at time I will also support local, but most of the one around me are ridiculous with the prices due to high overhead.
Theres some great deals on FC like on glassblowersdirect.com thread or collie glass, a bunch more that people swear by.

Vapes wise I will shop online and usually find great deals , massdrop.com is awesome for that.
Sometimes you have to be the early adopter to have the newest best vape out, some are worth it some it comes with a price that far exceeds what you payed for, but online is usually the way I buy or pre order.
