  • All In One Solo Accessory Package (AIO+)‏

Howdy forum members. I am starting this thread to adhere to the FC rules and give the AIO+ kit a thread of it's own for discussion and Q&A. Previously information and updates were posted in the Solo thread itself.

The endeavour was initiated within this very forum by discussions and requests amongst inquisitive members and some dedicated members such as OF and Dreamerr that seek out solutions for members to make things more enjoyable for all.

This PA started with a very simple objective in mind.
To provide a simple affordable solution for a complete power kit that covers all the possible ways the Solo can be used. What sets this system apart from the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) power options, is the ability to use the Solo in PA mode while in the car as well as incorporating a single power supply to provide power both modes of operation. The heart of this kit is a "step down unit" which takes 12 volts in and steps it down to the necessary voltage to put the Solo into PA mode of operation. This kit incorporates a larger more standard DC plug to make the needed cable connections and then adapts to the Solo standard connector.

The instruction sheet can be found here.

The picture below is what is included with the AIO. For those who already have the OEM home PA there is an option to buy all but the home supply, this option is called the CARPA. This will give the user the option to use in both charge and PA modes while out and about.

SoloAIOPackage_zps587e5230.jpg

This system has gone over very well in all stages of testing and evaluation. Feedback has been very positive to date and hope this trend continues.

Since the original release an addition option has been introduced which is the Solo PA stand. This stand is designed such that it pressure fits onto the base of the Solo and allows for the unit to be stood upright while plugged into a charger or PA supply. This stand comes in basic black or a "glow" version in hunter green or dark orange. The kits which include the stand are known as AIO+. The stand being the "plus".

The stands are also available separately with the OEM DC compatible plug. This is to allow users of the OEM power options to enjoy this stand as well.

At present you can only get these accessories via this forum by filling out this

This looks fantastic, Pipes. I've got a solo and PNWT on their way. I can't see myself needing a power adapter. Am I correct that the OEM stand works for the OEM charger as well as the OEM power adapter? Will you be making stands for water tubes etc. available?

Cheers
TF

Thanks Tom & Dreamerr, has worked out pretty good. We aim to please.

Yes, same stands with the 4X1.7mm plug compatible with the OEM power accessories.
No, I have no plans to make different stands as just too many sizes. Have played with a couple but more for fun and have pretty much given them all away.

Hey guys. Been playing a bit with a webcam IP server. I set it up in my shed pointed at the completed bases and extras, kind of like a store front window. I gives an idea of inventory and such.
The link is here, as well as in my signature.
The user name to use is "FC" and passwaord is "fcmember". The server is a little finicky and you need to pick the correct browser from the entry screen. Works best in Explorer but needs to added to trusted sites and active X controls enabled. Other browsers are easier but must select the correct browser and not uncommon to have to refresh to get it going. There is also a limit of viewers. IIRC, 4.?
Anyway, kind of fun stuff. And if you like to watch paint drying. :dog:

Cheers,

great stuff, I know you said you're done with all the various sizes of stands etc... but a ton of people just bought the Pinnacle Water Tube b/c it was on sale. The slightly thicker f-BOMB type deal :) might be something to resurrect at some point.

You are correct and have read my mind. However, I have also been trying to think of a way to use that Pinnacle adapter they supply with the PWT. Seems there should be a way to secure it vertically and can become a stand for any 14mm piece. Best if the idea does not mean destroying the adapter in the process.
Have had in in the back of my mind since I received the PWT.

I was trying to watch paint dry but couldn't get in oh well. I guess I will have to watch something else:lol:

Be sure to pick your correct browser.

Sounds very interesting. I am currently using shot glasses lined with paper towel to hold my f-BOMB and PNWT

Pipes, does the stand with the light just glow or give a light show like shown in snappo's signature? We need to know if it is just to find the solo or for our entertainment:o

Dreamrr - I believe Pipes told me that the glow stand doesn't blink on and off like it does in the sig. Mine should be arriving any day now...can't wait!

Just checked and some have made it in....
I swear I turned off the "boys club" filter...?:p
Refreshing and correct browser selection is important.

It's a back up to guide ships to port. jk.
Actually, the gif is misleading in that regard. It's just the gif that makes it blink. In reality it is a mellow glow that is not very intrusive at all. Even the picture in my signature and at top of thread shows a little brighter then in reality. The camera tends to do that, specially in low light situations.

If this happens I will definitely be buying one of these.

Give it another try, Dreamerr. I use Firefox and have to hit "cancel" when it asks for the 2nd or 3rd password (I forget), then select "Live Viedo". You may need to refresh the video to get it rolling.

I can watch Pipes tinker in his shed for hours.

Nice rear head shot....I think I'm getting a bald spot...

Yeah, found that with my Android using Chrome as well. Log on once and it asks again and every time you click a button. Should auto populate after once and just keep hitting OK or cancel. It will finally settle down and only ask if changing something. Need to click LIVE Video, as you said, and it should load.

Put it up for kicks and to give members an idea about inventory status etc. Love my toys.

I have been asked a few times about why I don't start a website like most "normal" people. Well, kinda says it all. LOL :p. Actually, I'm just trying to move in baby steps and not to explode sales but to keep at a level where I am comfortable and can provide a product which folks can call a customized hand made accessory. I am not in this for big profits but treat more as a hobby which gives me satisfaction of making other forum brothers and sisters happy and possibly entertained with some fun along the way.

Cheers and enjoy.

Sorry I was out of commission today but just quickly tried to do it and still can't get in. Which plugin do I need?
Tried ff forever and IE and finally after a long time ff came up. I did install the video thingy which was just an update to what i had and I updated java but had the latest so I don't know what the issue is. I think I had to do it like 50 times. I never got IE to work but I will say I never ever use IE so I have no idea if it is just not up to date or there is some other issue.

Now tomorrow when I hopefully can actually use the computer and to stuff I didn't do today, I can watch paint dry in between. Thanks pipes and stu.

Brother Pipe's,

thanks again, really enjoying the AIO so far, only that darn DC plug adapter I got afterward for the stand didn't work out but I will correct that now with an OEM stand order and by ordering the amazon PA you suggested !

Your very welcome and thank you for your patronage. I was wondering how you made out finding a OEM 1.7mm male to the 2.1mm standard. Not an easy choir I know.
Did you need an external heat clip for your CARPA? Can't remember if you received before I included or not.
PM sent.

OK, as requested. I have made a stand which can be used with any 14mm female connector. Very simple but functional. These are the first ones and some tweeking is still needed but are going forward these will be added to AIO kits.

Another small kit soon to be available upon request when placing an order is a bottom repair kit. This kit is the brain child of @OF and works to mechanically secure the bottom plate when chipping starts to decay the bottom plate. It uses washers that fit under the existing screws and relieves the pressure the bevelled screws cause on the holes. Which in turn cause the chipping to break the way it does. These washers are punched which means one side is slightly bevelled so the screws are still a little counter sunk.
The bottom is then covered with felt, screws and all. There are holes in the felt for the power and venting.
Once the felt is in place, it is easily cut around the Solo with scissors.
RepairKit_zpsf23a62de.jpg

Now of course this will not fit properly into the current stands I make for the Solo, but not a problem, I have made a special mould for stands which are "repair kit friendly" for those who need this.

Some more good news. I found a supplier of clear resin.....the transparent stands are coming back.
Funny, after all the places I looked, ended up finding a place hiding in the back of a residential area ONLY 5 BLOCKS from my house.

So besides any current stock, I am willing to take special orders if anyone has a favourite colour or wants sparkles kind of thing.

Let the fun continue. ;)
