Any electrical nerds know the answer to this question. Does the SSV draw a lot of power? Like if I leave it on all day, about how much would it cost me?!

If you leave it on 24/7 it will add $2-$3 a month. (depends on your price where you live)

The iPad is around 13 watts while charging and my SSV is around 20 watts.
Either you're paying an outrageous amount for power or I'm not paying much at all

Or your math is off

Average price of electricity in US is $0.12 . Lets say the SSV draws 20 continuous watts. 20 (watts) X 730 (hours in a month) / 1000 X $0.12 = $1.752

I don't even know what I pay for electricity!!! I just use as little as possible...

Anyone else notice a decrease in performance with the colder ambient temps? The heating element seems to cool down after one draw, nearly instantly... Been doing this since I got the unit back from 7th floor for repair...

Every winter!
Just crank her up a notch! ;)

Vitolo,
Yeah, I think the humidity in the air has a lot to do with it to. I've noticed some pretty different performance depending on how long I let it heat up and what the day is like...

The past few weeks have seen us here at 7th Floor working expeditiously so that everyone is able to have a vapetastic holidays. I haven't been able to be on FC...at all really...for some time, but have taken some time to review our forums today and address any needs. As always, the discussion on our threads is more cerebral and mature than I see on other companies threads here. I hope that means we are doing something right...putting all of our effort into make the best vapes on the planet. We, as a company, are just like you all, many different backgrounds that come together for one common goal...and like you all, we only want the best.

Lately we haven't been able to provide the level of customer service that you expect, due to us just getting hammered by emails, phone calls, etc, lately. We haven't been able to respond to all of them in a timely manner. Ideally, I would like a 30 minute turnaround on emails and phone calls that we can't answer immediately. But right now this just isn't possible. Having read the forums from before my time at 7th Floor, I new that customer service needed to get better, and get better fast...and of course I hope that it has. But know that our inability to return your communication as fast as you would like is due to the business of building vapes occasionally taking precedence. As a rapidly growing company, we constantly debate adding new employees...we never want leverage ourselves our too far as labor costs are our #1 expense. So we only add people to the family when we are bursting at the seams. Its a conservative approach, one that obviously has it consequences in regards to customer service. But its an approach we take because we are in this for the long run; we want to pass this company on to our children, not make a quick buck and get out. But - without a stellar product and a great relationship with our customers, we can't achieve our goals. In that light...we have doubled our CS team. None of us like hearing that it took too long to return a call or an email, so please know that we are doing everything in our power to resolve this and make the experience better.

8 years ago this company started in a single room of a home...and today has grown to 37 proud and dedicated employees that are truly committed to making, and enjoying, the greatest vape on earth. We know that we have the freshest tasting, hardest hitting, most customizeable vapes you can buy, and we will never stop trying to make them better. Through our experience and of course your input, we relentlessly pursue this goal. So we take this moment to thank you for everything. From all of us, to all of you. THANK YOU!

We float around slogans for 7th Floor as a company quite often, but always come back to one: 'We are You' .

We keep coming back to it because we feel it isn't so much a slogan, as it is the truth.

discount code - fc15 - gets all of you 15% until Jan 2, all our sites. (you must be logged in for the code to work) And of course, chris@7thfloor.biz.

Got my black ssv in today, this unit is bad to the bone.
I was waiting for the cloud, but got impatient and used the money to buy the ssv instead. So far, no regrets. I'm very pleased and surprised at how easy it is to pull thick vapor.
Now I know what you cats meant by "ridin the wave". This thing is a beast with my bong.
Thanks to 7th floor and this forum, I'm surfin the wave...
:peace:

update: Although I was enjoying the giant clouds, I found myself going back to the pd to conserve my herb. hard times :(

I just tested it with just an aroma top, and it worked fine, if you are still having problems, contact customercare@7thfloor.biz in the morning and we will get you taken care of.

Been using my SSV for about a week now without any hassles! It really is great, and gets me to a level I never achieved with the MFLB. Everyone who's come over to use it has also loved it, and been surprised by its efficiency. I even had one buddy (who I just convinced to buy an MFLB over a FumoPipe) say he now wants to get an SSV before he gets a water-pipe! Hopefully, the added sales directed toward the vendor who gave me an awesome discount will make up for any lost margins.

Also, I've been coughing up black phlegm all week. Anyone know why off the top of their head? I'm assuming it has something to do with not smoking now, but hoping it isn't something serious.

Glad your enjoying your beast and spreading the vape message. Don't worry about the phlegm! Coughing up nastiness is your body doing you a favour. The vapor acts to loosen the build up of crap in your system. It should clear up in a bit.

Thanks for all the info in this thread.

Will an SSV get me as high as my bong?

I borrowed a Vaporwarez for a couple of weeks and gave it a serious go. The only time it really got me high was when I put a whole gram of top shelf bud in there and vaped it all. I tried the full temperature range, from light vapor to almost burning it. In all I went through about 5 grams in it over various sessions.

I haven't coughed up anything the last few days, so I'm thinking I might be past that stage. Now if I can get through finals and start some jogging I'll be all good!

Does anyone here use a plug or something for their wand when not in immediate use? I've accidently tipped it a little much and spilled herb a couple of times and was trying to figure something out. I tried shaving down a wine cork, but it didn't turn out so great. I might have to try again.

lol welcome to the board dude! nice name you have there ;)

combustion highs vs vapor highs are different i can't say it will get you as high as your bong. but i can tell you you have go green from too much vapor. so pace yourself and give it time to kick in. it's cleaner, and less of a groggy fuzzy stoned feeling so you might not realize how high you are until it's too late you you are now going green.

just a lil warning :)

The vaporizer high is different from combustion. There are different chemicals that kick in at different temps (more THC high and less CBD "stoned" high and you also are not breathing in carbon monoxide along with other things from combustion.

The vape high gives me more of a head high, but a good indica in the vape will stone me. You will have to try different strains and find the one that best suits you.

The vape high has grown on me though. The first week I would go back and hit a bong and try to match up the highs. I eventually got it and now it has been over 2 months since I've done anything but vape. I can't even think about going back because this is so much "cleaner", healthier, and simply more functional. I can feel normal if I need to be or I can zone out and be high.

Not only is there an adjustment, going from smoke to vapor, but you seem to have a really high tolerance. You'll never get the same high that you get with smoke, and one reason is that some of the effect with the smoke high is from the smoke itself -smoke byproducts that have nothing to do with cannabis, but are actually toxins. You also lose a few cannabinoids at the high end that have a sedative effect. The vapor high is much cleaner, but it sounds like you may be happier sticking with smoke.

Some really helpful response here, thank you everyone. I see my cousin weedemon is here too, haha.

I may wait and see if a good deal on a used one comes along. Not sure if I want to commit to a new one, considering that I seem to prefer the high from smoke.

Interestingly I get a smoking type high from eating it too, which I do a lot.

I get a Weed high from eating it or vaping it.
When I used to combust.. I got a weed high from that!
Credit for the high goes to Mother Natures herb... not to combustion! ;)

The DBV is still a super solid option and can be had for very cheap if you shop around a bit
