Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

I appreciate what trvb is doing to fix the pong problem but i still find it pretty shitty that I was using something that could have potentially harmed me and its being played off as a "brain fart", my pong is severely degraded after just a few sessions so who knows how many toxic chemicals I inhaled....this one may be getting returned if possible

For PN/PN Pro on the fence deciders/fence sitters,
I had the occassion to recieve both several regular Pinnacles & a Pinnacle Pro at same time, so can offer some battery time trails on both, straight out of box (after fully charging). Will also comment on an OG regular Pinnacle I have had since March which has been heavily used to give an idea as to battery use after time.
If you are strictly a flower user, the regular Pinnacle is all you need. You don't necessarily need the PN Pro unless you have a need for a concentrate burner or just like the features. Recessed button on the Pro is definately a plus, IMO. Temp control is also nice for a guy used to the solo. That said, I absolutely love the PN Pro. But, for flower only use the 2 temps of regular PN are more than sufficient.
Funny thing. They are both supposed to have a 8min. run time. All of mine, the new PN's, PN Pro, & old OG PN all have a 10min. run time. Just figured I'd mention, as I have never seen this posted. These were not use sessions, but rather turn up to max. temp, and let run burn sessions for battery testing. Burn off, of course, is usually not needed, as they usually come burned in from manufacturer.
The fully charged Pinnacle Pro ran for 6-10min. sessions, plus an additional 5min. in a 7th session, all at setting 5 (highest setting). At all times, it took aprox. 2min. to reach level 3, and approx. 4min. to reach level 5.
The fully charged regular Pinnacle ran for 7-10min. sessions on highest session (orange), tried to fire for an 8th session but failed shortly. At all times took 2min. to reach highest setting. (orange)
The fully charged OG regular Pinnacle, heavily used since March really surprised me. Can't quite figure it out. Had same 10min. run time, but unexplainably ran longer. It actually runs 11-10min. sessions at highest setting, no fire at all for 12th. Took 2min. at all times to reach highest setting.
Keep in mind these were strictly straight burn off times, at highest settings, no usage (draws on unit),just to test battery life. Useage will surely affect some of these results, but I was impressed nonetheless. Hope this is helpfull to any considering either.

Sorry for not posting this info upon Pro release, but major ass personal issues prevented & still exist. I sure appreciate all of you here. While not always able, always want to give back as I can.

Peace

Wow, posted this to PN Pro thread, wasn't even here. No idea what happened. Been trying to contact mods to move. Have reported it myself, maybe have some of you report, too? Apologies in advance. Still keeping an eye on the INH, though..... been interested for quite awhile.

mod note: Moved to correct forum.

That is correct, we made a mold change to the regular MP to increase the wall thickness near the screen, as we had some issues with screen fit that needed to be resolved. We did not do the change to the PONG as the screen fitment is a different design. Any of the design will work, but you only want to use the parts that came with the PRO on the pro as the PC can't handle the higher temps.

so above was the answer I got to the question below :

I just checked my collection of mp's and I got this :
From my og pn, a regular mp, PonG both clear and both having
a thin wall where the screen sits.
Then I have a regular mp and a PonG that look "smoked", you could say
they look translucent grey, both thin walls, I guess these were the replacements
for the first clear mp's wich a few of them had problems melting and chipping, these would
eliminate some of the visible blemishes on the clear ones.
then I have the near black ones, from the pro, here I see that the
regular mp has a thick wall where the screen sits and the PonG has
a thin wall, does this mean the PonG is not intended for the pro and the
regular mp is or is this just the way the black PonG for the pro is designed and
both can be used with the pro on 5?

does this mean my black PonG which came with the pro (from the yoyokid1) and which has
thin walls -->they are thinner than the black regular MP's walls that came with the PRO but they have the same thickness as my clear and smoked PonG's from my original pinnacle, CAN be used with the pro or CAN'T ?
If I have the wrong PonG, do you send me a new one too TRVB? or do I need to go trough
the yoyokid?

What i think is happening with the old pong (clear) is that the plastic is slightly porous, therefore vapour is absorbed into the plastic while vaping, this condenses inside the tiny pores. this then gets sealed with sticky mj residue and when the plastic gets heated up again liquid expands and stresses the plastic, this would cause the plastic to degrade and go brittle without chemicals, just water and good old mj !. NOTE this is my opinion. I also suspect TRVB has not used MJ when doing their long term burn QC and therefore not being able to replicate this problem.

@TherealVaporblunt I definitely have the thinner PonG. I'm in the UK though, will that be a problem for me getting a replacement? Like @Belgianvapor I got mine through yoyokid, do I need to contact him?

edit: I may be ordering a WT, so maybe it's worth waiting 'til I do and send the replacement with it to save shipping costs.

I ordered a PonG for my OG PN from theyoyokid1 on Sept. 9th and received this. I think it's the thicker-walled PNP version, but I'm not sure. I would feel better knowing that it's made from PES, even though I'm only using the OG PN.

You have the thicker-walled PES Pong. If you scroll back a couple of pages & look at the photos Engineering posted, it's pretty obvious as there are 2 photos of PES & PC pongs side by side.

So is it your belief that part of your PonG turned into odourless tasteless toxic chemicals that you inhaled while vapourizing? Have you ever smelled melting plastic?

I must say, from reading this thread it seems to me that @TherealVaporblunt and @Engineering are providing some of the best and most honest customer service I have seen. I look at the way several other vape manufacturers releases on new products have been and TRVB has introduced a brand new product that appears to be one of the least plagued releases. I honestly think that they are being more than accommodating and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them. I do not like the constant cleaning with the PAX and you will probably be getting an order from me on black friday!

No there was a subtle nasty taste but I just chalked it up as being the "flavor" of the vape, like how the pax imparts a taste into your vapor, espically considering that people were saying the only drawback was the taste, after noticing the damage to pong, I tried using the MP and there was a much better flavor and it was a lot less harsh, so to answer your question; no I believe that part of my pong was defiantly turned into foul tasting toxic chemicals inhaled while vaporizing. Don't get my wrong i do really like this vape but a minor issue like this could pose a serious health risk especially to someone who bought the pnp and isn't a forum reader or a medical user with lung issues, for all they know the pong is just going thru normal wear and tear, and continue to use it and continue to inhale plastic fumes

FWIW, I used the old (PC) PonG last night for 4 sessions and I have not seen a problem. I only went up to temp 4 for a min or two but most of the time I was at 3.

I would hate to be without water filtration for a few days
I hear that. Tracking info indicates I won't receive the replacement PonG until Monday, October 7th. Haven't been able to use the water tube since September 27th.

Engineering will say level 3 is safe, but he is also insistent that they are not "melting" just degrading and softening. They are made from PC, which I believe is safe up to 480 aprx.

Straight form the horses mouth. These things are safe guys, just don't go past 3.

A tincture on the other hand would include an alcohol or glycerol base. Not many are using those to my knowledge, except for those using Liquidizer's EJVape glycerol base. Folks are using that in regular e-cig carts, though.
Woops, I should clarify that I was referring to the EJMix product and not the EJVape ecig.

I just saw a UPS commercial and they use the word LOGISTICS allot.

As a business, what are the logistics of this PC/PES PonG exchange program?

CS verify PC vs PES through pictures. CS returns emails. CS ships correct PES in mail bubbler + postage. Cost of actual PES PonG (already absorbed into PNPro cost). Cost of return prepaid mail bubbler + postage. Cost of the old used PC PonG most likely going to trash.

Where did the missing material go then. Yes I believe it got to whatever the threshold temp is and starts to vape off, label it as Charlie if you feel but material was there then not and was not physically removed by myself so it went somewhere.

do we need to provide proof of purchase of the pn pro and a pic of the thin walled pong to get the replacement? I didn't include these items in my email to eric

I emailed them and they responded that they needed a copy of the receipt and a picture of the melted PonG. That is pretty standard IMO.

PNP+WT on setting 3.

Missing my water tube even more after watching.

Not IMO or according to the post below from TRVB. If you have the slightest doubt, get it replaced.

No, email vaporblunteric@gmail.com. If any of you even have the slightest doubt if you have the right one just go ahead and request a new one, we will send out immediately.

I'll send first, I really only need it if it shows any signs of the recently discussed issues

Here is a copy of their response after I emailed them:

"can you Please E mail me a copy of the receipt and the address where you would like the new parts to go. Please and thank you!"

Maybe I was a special case?

I hope not because I was never sent a receipt.

If you don't have your receipt and they ask for one I would just let them know. Maybe they will bend a little for you...
