Hello guys !

about this "burning issue" can you tell us which model you purchased ? isn't it proper to a model like unfinished or maple whose are clearer than other woods? ( IMO different woods means different resistance ,density ...)

Do any of the walnut models suffer from this malady?
I doubt that you would be able to see it because it's already dark, but I'm willing to bet that it happens. My walnut Firewood tastes like I'm vaping wood and I'm not too happy about it.

How long have you had it? I have both the maple unfinished and the walnut. I think the maple tastes more like wood especially when running it "hot" my walnut tastes amazing and ive used it 30-40 plus times already.

Is anyone else still waiting on the walnut to arrive? I did the Massdrop drop about 3-4 weeks ago and am getting nervous...

Are you guys in Canada? International orders are coming from massdrop and I have heard they are notoriously slow with shipping.

Correct on international orders being shipped from MD direct but have slight priority from my understanding.

I've had it a few weeks, but only used it 5 or 6 times... it's just really hard for me to get past the taste. It would be fine if it was just a slight wood flavor, but I taste cooking wood. Keep in mind, taste is very subjective.

Just wanted to update...

My vape arrived yesterday and I had the pleasure of testing it out last night. It works perfectly, but I'll need some practice with the manual trigger. The wood taste is not overwhelming, but definitely has a background flavor you can taste through the vapor. The heating chamber holds a comfortable amount of herb, and the vape charges relatively quickly for how long it lasts (I plugged it in before my morning classes and it was ready by about lunchtime).

I would expect the final Firewoods to arrive early next week. I joined the Massdrop drop pretty close to the end, so I'm assuming everyone who is still waiting will get theirs very soon...

Does anyone have a DIY 14mm adapter method so I can use this with my WT when it comes in? Or does anyone actually sell them?

I know it's a bit cumbersome, but I found the magic flight WPW will work. I'll be trying it out later today but the tubing fits well onto the FW MP.

Probably the best situation would be finding the glass piece they use and having a very short piece of tubing to go over the FW MP. I would try but I don't want to cut my whip up. :D

I used a small piece of 1/4" soft silicone tubing folded back onto itself to make connection with the 14mm joint. It's a quick fix but works. I got the tubing from http://www.mcmaster.com/#silicone-rubber-food-grade-tubing/=ot0oky

Hey guys, sorry i have been absent so long, that massdrop was way bigger than I expected and i was pretty much working non-stop for the last month.

Regarding the brown spots that form over time near in the area above the switch... This is normal and will happen on all of the wood varieties. It shouldn't cause any problems though. I have never seen one get even close to burning through. If it did burn through, the vape would still work fine, and a repair would be covered under warranty. If burn throughs became a common problem I would probably make a minor design change by adding another window right where those brown spots occur and any repairs would get this change.

Just been seen this vape around the Vapor enthusiasts internet hot spots (here, reedit). I currently use my Pax as my current portable Vape. Would those who have used both consider buy this if you already have a Pax.

Also I like the addition of the piece of tubing. Will there ever be a longer mouth piece offered?

I think Fw needs something like ed's tnt for his mouthpiece filtration which is the first issue to fix imo .....the actual spring and/or brass screen is really far from being perfect.

The main issue to me is how easily the top piece/mouthpiece can come off/fall out/potentially get lost. If it had a groove or a hinge like an old-school dugout to keep better track of these pieces the firewood would be a simpler device to use on the go. I think the fw is a good value but ultimately it needs this tweak. I have only used mine once so far but found it effective with a simple learning curve. There was a bit of the freshly-stained wood smell going on but I'm sure that will go away quickly as others have reported. Overall a cool device and a good value, and I think that herb misers will appreciate it from an operational standpoint.
And I'm really digging the aesthetics of the stained walnut

I completely agree with you. The only bad part about this vape is the mouthpiece. If there was some way to *snap* it into place I feel like this thing would be perfect.

I tried it out with the Magic Flight WPW and the PN WT last night and man it is a big hitter. It worked great with small loads and getting it all out in 3 or 4 hits.
