Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

The screen is pushed down to keep the bullet from rattling as much, otherwise it makes no difference.

As far as the PONG goes, the units that are melting seem to be PC instead of PES. It's possible that the wrong piece got put in your box, contact TRVB to get a proper replacement.
PM sent. Thanks for responding.

On a side note, I use this tube carry my bullets in. Fits two perfect and they never spill. Got it from Buying one of those Pure Gold capsules.

Are there translucent black PC pongs as well?
I thought the clear ones were PC and the translucent black ones were PES.

That's what I was trying to figure out earlier. I thought there was both clear and black tinted PC Pongs. Then I thought the PNPro came out with the solid black PES pongs, but I guess they look the same?

I don't know but mine is definitely opaque when held up to light.

There have been a few iterations to the mouthpieces, we switched from producing the clear pieces a while ago (though there is still some inventory of the clear pieces working thru distribution). That was mostly an aesthetic change - tinted pieces simply look better.

When we did the PRO we changed the material for the pro units to PES due to temperature resistance. However, visually they look the same.

You can never get all the bugs worked out of a product prior to release. No matter what, people will always find a way to break your product in a way you never expected. take this issue with the melted PONG - I have been trying to melt a PES pong here for 3 hours. (I have a unit that never turns off - actually surprised the electronics haven't failed yet) no melting. I am even having issues melting the PC PONG, its getting a bit soft, but after 3 hours it looks a lot better than the picture posted!

Can we get a hint on the weight difference, I have but one black pong so nothing to compare to. The black one I have is what I would call black translucent when held to a light but still darker then the mp. Maybe clean it and put it on a scale later.

Hey guys, for those that bought their wt from theyoyokid1, did he send any tracking info or confirmation that it had been shipped? I got the purchase confirmation but nothing else since. This is my first purchase from eBay so I don't really know how it works.

Yes, I got shipping information the following day.

i have been pushing the mp screens down farther than they should be. around quarter inch. then i attach it to my device with bullet inside. it pushes the screen up to the exact level it should be at. no rattling. no herb getting out above the bullet lip and potentially into the chamber. I have had no problems with melting mp on level 5 and no scratches.
Engineering did not write this second part. idk why its part of his quote

modnote: you have to put your text after the second quote tag

the PES is 15% heavier than PC. In theory land (CAD) the PONG should weigh 5.05 grams without the screen, so a PES part should weigh 5.8 grams. Of course there will be a bit of variation from part to part.

This is true for any application of engineering, but it has to be expected in this industry that such bugs will be subjected to greater scrutiny and concern.

A bug in a smartphone is one thing; a bug that may cause a health hazard in a medical device is another altogether.

Engineering is hard, yes, but that explanation can't take you far with consequences like these IMO.

The plot thickens!

FXZDueZ.jpg

Here's two black, hopefully high-temp pes pongs. They do seem to be from different batches, you can see that the unused one on the right has a much thinner wall around the screen.

They seem to be the same thickness on the pong side however.

Have we come to a conclusion on a definite method? I'm going to get one and have kept up with the topic, but there is many methods so far... Does setting it up one then back down(4 to 3) work well? I'll play around but is there an FC guide for the PnP we can create?

Still waiting for mine to ship apparently. Only went with eBay so I'd get it faster. So much for that plan I guess.

Edit: he never sent tracking but checked "my eBay" and there was tracking. Checked it and it's already on the move! Woohoo!

2 issues

1) I might have an issue with a burn piece like V&C. Used it yesterday outside with one bullet and wanted to get everything out of it, so I bumped it to 4. I remember the part where the screen and PonG meet were smooth when I ran my finger on it. Now it is rough and jagged. I also boiled clean the PonG last night, so it was either the 4 setting or the boiling.

2) Also, there is a "clearer" (less dark than the rest of the PonG) discoloration on the inside of the cavity where the screen is, creating a very fine arc on the upper lip (when screen up). Thought it was water, but it is still there in the morning after drying. Will try to get a photo up later.
OK, while looking at this issue and thinking, I THINK what is happening is that when using the PNP, I do not hold it completely straight up. I hold it in my left hand at an angle to my lips, so my head is looking straight forward or slightly down, not straight down. The LEDs are facing me, so as to block the light (stealth). So in this position, if you take off the PonG, the screen is at an angle. The top edge where the PonG and screen meet, that is where the discoloration is. Could it be because of the angle I hold it at, and the hot air that rises while I pull the air. Constant steady pulling at a temp 4. In my head, I think that when hot air compresses, it creates a higher temperature as well, thus making that particular area of the PonG hotter than the temp level setting it is at.

note: oh, never used setting 5 yet w/ FMJ; only to do a burn-off before first use w/o bullet or MP.
Funny that I am replying to my own message, but I wanted to add my photo of my 2nd issue regarding discoloration. There is definitely discoloration from use. Plus this is much more today than yesterday.

0vjp.jpg

Yesterday, that white area was half the size as it is now. That is not dirt or buildup. The top edge which is flush with the mouthpiece is rough and jagged if looked at very closely. Others might think health concerns, but I probably ingest or breath in worse stuff on a daily basis. I have not even had this for a week yet but am thinking about long term reliability & aesthetics. I do NOT want to walk around with a funky looking PN Pro and when asked wtf that is, I do not want to say negative things about white discoloration issues.

Regarding @grokit and the sidewalls:
The above is a PonG that has a THIN wall.
The regular mouthpiece has a THICK wall and a recessed screen.

@Engineering my PonG weighs 5.31 grams with screen.
I will also contact TRVB about a replacement PonG. TY

add: one bullet weighs 1.38 and the other 1.24

Here's a shot with both pongs and the mouthpiece.

Notice how the THIN walled pieces have screens that are perfect around the edge? The others don't have a perfect circular crease.

And obviously the THIN walled have more screen surface areas --> allow more airflow --> allowing more particulates (lol, that is your cleanest piece)

Good morning guys,

Sorry for the delay, I was on a plane almost all day yesterday.

@Engineering misspoke, please do not contact me for return. All claims need to go through our claims department, it is pretty painless. Just send a pic and a description of your concern and we will send new one and an envelope for the old one (postage paid) reach out to vaporblunteric@gmail.com

Awesome reply. Fast, excellent solution. Thank you.

Now, I just want to make sure the new ones that will be sent are the PES and won't melt or we'll be doing this again next month also.

Thanks for the feedback. We are looking into the cause - I have some theories, but won't share them until we get a bit more information.

Looking to the forum as a whole for feedback here: Has anyone experienced the above with the regular mouthpiece?

I've been using the reg mouthpiece much more than the pong but so far neither have the issue.

I will have to vape longer and more frequent to help you troubleshoot this problem.

I know I know. But sacrifices need to be made.....
