It is just a matter of time.
Some people require a few days to have a feeling of Symbiosis with their Buddhas and some
take a month.
You said you did get good vapor a few times..
BUT you also said that you wasted a great deal of herb... and if not getting vapor then
the meds should still be green.
There are contradictions.
Troubleshoot first-
be sure the elements "glow" is the same all the time......
make sure dial is on tightly.
you can not judge by "numbers of hits"
I sometimes get 15 on a wand, and sometimes I get 3
If herb is smelling like popcorn then the weed is done.
if you did not get what you feel to be enough "hits" from a wand, and yet it smells like popcorn,
it may be MJ with low THC levels.
Quality of meds is the usual culprit in cases of few hits given from a bowlful.
You did not ever say exactly how long you have had the Buddha, but it does not sound all that long.
If you have been working with the DBV multiple times daily.. for over 2 weeks,
that is when these questions need be addresses. If it indeed has been that long, then you will need
a face to face visit with a proficient Vaporist to help you with any nudges here and there.
There is a learning curve.
If it is not the case that you have used the DBV daily for a couple of weeks, then you are the key.
You must find the rythm... and try a variety of medical grade Marijuana strains.
Average street MJ does not always produce thick vapor, and will only vape for a hit or two.

So... exactly how long have you been trying for success with the DBV?
How is the quality of meds?

Edit: weed caught near the element won't generally cause issues.
a "leak" or crack in the Heater cover might, however.

I really hope so cause i can't wait for a good vap session! I've had it for about a week so far twice a day and ive had about 2 good sessions so far. my AVB is a golden sometimes green color.
Its just odd that one wand load will vape really well and get good hits then load same stuff same size exact same way and fails to vap as well. [input on that would be very illuminating]. The heating elementl is kinda hit and miss. My herb is low shielf and doesnt have the highest thc output but i have seen it dish out some nice cloud, soo idk lol. I say ive used it about 15 times in a weeks time. Its funny cause my second time using it was my best one so far and i wasnt even trying and was half asleep lol. Thanks for the response! I hope i can get this myself I don't know any vaporist around these parts just moved to valley.

Hey just noticed something i dont think has happened before this. I dont think the main body (silver steel part) used to get hot, but I just noticed then that the body was quite hot. couldnt hold it too long.

Is this actually nomal?

Thanks!

Yes the Buddha body does get hot.
You may not have noticed it before.. our hands do sense differently on different days.

@Mjouy..... it sure sounds like the element or the controls to that element are acting inconsistently.
I still would give it a bit more time, and get a hold of some med grade herb if you can to test that part of the theory out....
perhaps start taking some pictures.. of the element's glow particularly.
Perhaps somebody here in your part of the world will see these posts, and volunteer to arrange a meetup with you.
That is I fear what you will need, since you already expresssed you do not have a camera to use skype with.
Keep at it.. we are here for you in the capacity we are able.

VapeNStone is correct.
Watch videos on this thread.
VapeNStone has some!
Then...
Get to you tube, and search DBV, Da Buddha and related titles and watch everyone's techniques.
make an afternoon event of it!

Yes this!! But what I was really getting at is HE should make a video for all of us to see so we could better diagnosed his problem. How much you wanna bet it's the quality of his herb? How much do you pay for your weed @Mjouy ?

I just moved from Colorado to arizona and the entire culture around medicating with MJ is TOTALLY different.. I'm havin a very hard time finding people that smoke verse drink or pop stupid pills.. But who knows maybe with some time i'll find someone who would wanna test this out in my area. I got some WAX!!! im willing to share with all my mary jane lovers!!

Hey vape!!! in rep to Vitolo i've already spent hours on youtube looking at dbv Enough to see that these dudes are getting insane vapor hits!! [probably has a fair amount to do with grade of the bud] Vape that's a good idea and ive thought about it. Within the week imma try to make a video so i can post it on here to help troubleshoot my DBV. I saw one of your videos about the easy one hitter high temp knockouts! something i wanna try but don't have enough meds to test it out atm. I did test it on some AVB and turned it all the way up and pulled hard and i got zero vapor.
This week i payed 40 for a 8th. it really depends who im going thru. Back in colorado i didn't have to worry about the grade! it was ALL GLORIOUS lolol Btw shoutout to vitolo You've so far helped me out a lot. That cotton idea for smoking wax/oil is super amazing. still cant get over that the cotton doesn't burn or harm your body. I did some research on it couldn't find any harmful thing about it! Soo looks like imma be waxing tonight boys! Looks like tonight I won't be in pain!

Yea man you gotta try a "big banger"

It's the only way I vape with my DBV

Highly recommended

I use a 14mm adaptor for a mouthpiece which greatly improves airflow

I hate the stock mouthpiece

The Real Vapor Blunt has the PN WT on sale for $50 with code PNWT50. this is the link.

I just ordered one for my SOLO but I'm gonna try using it with my DBV too since I already use a 14mm adapter for a mouthpiece.

Does anyone have experience with both the DBV vs the SSV? Me and my roommate are looking into getting a new stationary vape for our apt, is the SSV really worth the extra money?

The SSV with the hands free attachment is just a tilted da buddha anyways lol. So no IMHO it isn't worth the extra money.

That what I figures, they both seem to be great quality units, but everything I have read is like you said pretty much the same unit except for the tilt. always down to save a little money, thank you mark!

mmenzie

My friends call me "Menz"
i own a buddha and i also was looking to save some money!!! other than the tilt.... the SSV also comes with a glass knob and a custom heater cover too. so it's the tilt and some custom glass that separates the two i believe.

mmenzie,
Just put your Da Buddha on your grinder top like I do :) And you can get custom glass knobs and glass for your Da Buddha as well

I own 2 DBVs (one for the Oil Rig and one for Bud)
I own 3 SSVs (one with each configuration... spherical/hands free/hand held)
In my opinion the DBV is great, especially if you are trying to save on $$.

Personally..(my opinion!) I think the SSV worth the price difference easily.
I like the added weight of the unit.
The tilt is wonderful, and makes things simpler.
I only use the Hand Held original, and save the hands free and spherical for when folks want to decide what is best for them.
I use my Da Buddha about 3-4 times a week.
I use my SSV all day every day.. about hourly.

Not badmouthing the DBV.. I order a bunch of them for local patients, and all are happy with them.

I've had a DBV for about a half a year now, and love it. Unfortunately, I have a lot of clumsy friends and I keep having to replace my heater covers. I just got my 3rd one in the mail today, and when I put it in, I noticed the heating element was not as high as it used to be (I think). I'm pretty sure the top of it used to be at about the level of being halfway up where the wand goes in (that was terrible wording, sorry), but now it isn't doesn't even get as high as the bottom of the ground glass. Is this going to be a problem? Is there a fix? Or am I just so forgetful and it has always been like this?

Vapormonger, you can simply pull up on the heating element to get it where it was, it's only held in place by the connecting wires. 3 things:
1. don't do it while it's hot
2. have clean hands while you do it or use something clean to grip it
3. be gentle!!!!

Mine is about 1/4" from the top.

Mjouy, if you can get your hands on a Kill A Watt device, (less than $20 online), you can see how many watts your DBV is using. Mine draws about 22 watts at my normal vaping temp. Good luck!

Does anyone(besides Vito) own both DBV and SSV (or have used both enough to comment) and can say that they prefer the tilt of the SSV?
