I'm not a big knife guy, but when I was in middle school my friends and I would watch this show (not only because we liked looking at the knives but also because of how cheesy the show was and how often they would get hurt) on late night basic cable (a couple of stations below the scrambled porn... which you could still hear clearly, lol).

Anyone remember this?

I love knives. Don't have a collection, but there is something about a well crafted blade, that makes me :mmmm: My first knife was a buck brand, that my Dad bought me.

Incredibly beautiful, as per usual with your posts.

For such a small part, that damascus clip really ties it all together for me.

Wish I had more to share in here lately, but I've recently started an incredibly expensive hobby that doesn't leave much room in the budget for sharp things. That and the choke-hold the herbie is putting on my accounts.

*edit* - oops missed a few posts, above post is in reference to deadshorts mother of pearl post.

Yeah same here... unfortunately the attention of high end flashlights was brought to my attention. ... why must I like shiny things?!

I am so thankful that the only real high end hobby I have is knives. I have lights, but I go for fairly inexpensive lights compared to some of the custom jobs I've seen CPF. My new glass addiction may get the better of me at some point, but even that hasn't really gotten expensive. The knives though... They can get quite pricey. I've definitely gone with fewer and further between for my collection pieces.

Oh then you won't want to look at any darksucks products haha.

ready-made and alpha blue flashlights range from 200-500 a piece...

ugh someone showed me a rockstead higo zdp folder, retails for under 1000 but is gorgeous! Claims to be one of sharpest folding knife available with long edge retention.

Maybe not as good looking as thr folders shown in this thread, but it is production

I owned a Rockstead Beetle in YXR7. Rocksteads are insanely sharp and they really retain their edge. Rockstead makes some of the finest production knives in the world. The only reason I sold mine was because it was a tip down clip and I can't stand tip down.

I'm thinking about making a ZT0350 my next purchase. Planning to de assist it. Anyone have any experience with the 350?

I've handled the 0350, but never owned or used one. It's a stout design, a hand filler with a wide blade. I know a lot of people love them. I have the 0300 big brother so I never ended up with an 0350. I know they recently released a ZDP-189 model. Awesome steel.

I didn't see a zdp model, but I did see the M390 that knifeworks has. Trying to decide if the extra cost is worth it over the s30v

Got any suggestions in the $150 range? Anything goes.

The 940 and 707 were also in my gaze for awhile.

I normally prefer small knives with under a 3.5" blade. And I don't even know if I'd carry a larger knife. But everything in side me is pulling towards the beefier blades, frame locks, and flippers. The popular stuff these days.

But I do love the axis lock...
Just when I had thought I'd narrowed it down.

How do you feel about Spyderco? I'm a huge fan of the Gayle Bradley, the Paramilitary 2, and the ZDP-189 FRN Stretch (cheaper option).

The Zero Tolerance 0801 is supposed to be a really great knife. It's a bit more than $150 new, but can be found on the forums for around that.

I like some spyderco knives. Me and my dad's chaparrals had some issues. Their designs just generally don't appeal to me too much. I do however like the Domino, Southard, Techno, and Sage 2. But Idk if I like them enough for the price.

If I'm really mistaken let me know, I can always sell something I don't like.

I like all the features of the 801, but I just don't like the looks of the knife. Price is also a little higher than I'd like to reach, but not too far I suppose.

The Sage 2 is a great knife. It's my go to for vacations. It's a thin design and the deep pocket wire clip is very unobtrusive. I'm a big fan of Spyderco's full flat grind. I highly recommend it.

It's a little too similar to my chaparral to be my next purchase. I think I may have just sold my self on the southard..... But I'd have to wait a bit longer on it.

I'd need some custom scales too XD

I love my southard, fantastic knife!

Also have the spyderco matriarch 2 waved, such a badass.

chillin on the couch, sippin off a 22 ounce.
Used to be really into knives around '05 to '07 I'd say... my collection included knives by Microtech, Strider, Protech, DKW, and Airkat. Of the latter I had two Tripwires and regrettably sold both to buy other stuff at the time. If I could go back I would've kept those two - no question.

But I managed to score my grail during that time. It is sadly now my only knife as my other, a Microtech Socom D/A Tactical, was recently stolen out of my car's glove box. Anyway here she is: Mick Strider Custom AR Nightmare with custom leather sheath.

I got a new custom D/A auto in November from Matt Diskin, but I need to post some pictures of it.

I like that Spydie Southard. I didn't know they made a waved Matriarch. That's wicked.
