This is rich. What's wrong with this picture, kiddies?

Hint: It has nothing to do with Detonator.

The CE sticker I was wondering that but being me I have no idea what that is anyhow...some kind of silly certification.

The number on the newest one is lower than my older one?

Maybe. We've been warned over and over not to read too much into 'serial numbers'. We've seen things like two different cap thicknesses on nearly identical numbered units. Up to now, that (cap thickness) has been the apparent reason the rings fit sometimes and not others. Back when I posted a photo of the caps from two I had at the same time, in that case the caps made the difference. This seems like some new wrinkle?

Thanks for the 'food for thought'.

The CE is a European Conformity mark that signifies the unit works safely in Europe. It's on most consumer electronics etc sold over here.

My Solo is identical the the new one pictured and also has the CE sticker on the bottom (I'm in the UK).

The oven is the same with no "groove" for the O ring, however the gap between the top of the oven and the outer cap (that screws on top) is just perfect for the PV O ring I got with my PVHES. It will screw down tight with no stress on the four screws at the bottom.

Works like a dream too...

weeks ago I sent my poor babies (chilly-yums) in for surgery. Today I woke up and saw a picture of my babies. Mind you they still need to go in a kiln. The kiln will be the final stress on the colors so Im hoping they stay beautiful as they are now. I have total confidence in PV!!

@ataxian-Obviously this is initially inspired by you buddy!

These are custom made for me, from pieces I sent in. Im told that if our solo community shows enough interest they will produce these types of pieces for retail.

Hey guys, how cool is all this? A fun idea is suggested by one guy, refined by others, produced by a different party and potentially marketed as a new and useful product for us all? Basically because good folks were sharing good ideas, experiences and abilities right here in this very Forum?

Man oh man are we good or what?

Capitalism, as it should be. Most cool. No system better anywhere.

I always thought the M 103,4,7,1A was for the Memory flash of the particular unit.

Arizer has said that it's a production run number and that's all. They don't reveal what changes are made between production runs. There could be many or none. The point is that lots of people fuss over getting the "latest model", but if Arizer is no longer numbering them sequentially then it's difficult if not impossible to know.

Maybe something Arizer had to do to combat our obsession with having to have the latest model and the resulting pressure from retailers who then want the same. Now: Who knows?

The 'latest' solos don't have the ceramic bowl and don't quite get as hot as the earlier ones yes? So having the latest isn't necessarrily the best model, similar to Playstations and Nintendo DSs... sometimes the latest revisions are to cheapen the cost of mfg.... and nothing else.

Pak and Hexi both raise good points, newer does not mean better always.

And as Pak said if they're not using sequential numbers you've no hope of knowing much.

What really matters, I think, is when does the warranty start, how long is it, and what's covered? None of those things really relate to the number on the unit in any way I know of. It's when you bought it and from who.

If it works out of the box (as almost all seem to), enjoy it. If not get it fixed........ Worry about a number on the bottom only complicates that I think.

That's exactly why I asked to see the serial #'s .
They don't mean anything but for stock keeping .
