Discontinued Inhalater XP

I wanted to mention, my friend has a Pax and he spends about 30min a week on maintenance and looks like dirty and sticky work, and it does smell a lot more. With the XP, once you put the lid on, very little odour escapes, even when left loaded. I used the new capsule for a week, then dropped into ISO overnight and it was 99% brand new. I figure I spend about 120 seconds per week on maintenance, and if I need to change the screen once every 3 months, that might be an extra minute.

This is one of the main reasons the XP is coming out on top for me. I don't mind the odd clean, but when reports are coming in that the mouth piece (which as I'm sure you're aware, is the on and off switch) gets so gummed up after just a few uses, that it gets difficult to turn on. That's just plain annoying.

That's good to hear about the smell of the XP. I'm more than likely going to be using it around the house, but the odd time that I want to vape on the road, in hotels etc, it would be nice to know it's not going to completely stink the whole place out. Even after it's turned off.

Thanks for your input. Did you have anything else to add seeing as though you've had first hand experience with both the Pax and the XP?

I have used both pax and inhalater, but own neither (my xp is on the way though). From my experience, the xp is better than the pax in every regard except the warranty. For me my biggest differences between the two are:
1. No stirring with the XP
2. Less odor with the XP
3. Longer battery with the XP
4. Better Flavor with the XP (Because you can fine tune temp more. I'm really biased here, but I always felt like the pax had 3 settings, no vapor, weak vapor and burn. I never liked the temp control on the pax)

Some say the PAX is prettier and more stealthy based on looks. When I recently was talking about the inhalater in a smoke shop the owner said, "Oh is that the unit that looks like a dildo?" So yeah, I guess inhalater looks are less, but it'd be sad if you chose the worse performance of the pax just based on better looks.

@HerbalHealing, thats great news man. I had a feeling the density of vapor issue was just a matter of fine tuning. I wouldn't recommend testing the number of sessions per charge. Although the information is nice to have, running your XP battery down to zero is bad for its life. Best battery life will occur if you keep the battery between 80% and 100%. But I'm sure there will be times when I run it till it dies (i mean it is a portable afterall) and I'll be sure to record the number of cycles then.

Great stuff. I think the XP looks more like a USB pencil mic if anything. If the USB cable was wrapped around it, I'd have no clue it was a vaporizer.

Yes, I should have mentioned running batteries down is not good for them, but I need to know where the bottom is, just once for reference. I think it would be ok to run it down once in a while, like every couple months or so, but yes, I usually avoid that and re-charge after every use it with my portable battery no matter where I am.

Also, in terms of tuning & vapor density, I think it will also be affected by the outside temp and humidity. I remember vaping outside in winter once, and I couldn't distinguish between what was my condensed breath vs vapor, but after a while when the medicine kicked in, there was no doubt it was working.

I hope to get some feedback from others vaping at the same temp, same material, but with different grinds, dryness and capsule levels (full, half, etc.)

Yes every couple of months is actually recommended to calibrate the battery life indicator. I'll definitely fill you in when I get my Q3, but for now I think theres only about 3 or 4 active members on here with Q3.

Also Ebay user Kush Paradise should be able to ship internationally I think. In fact, most companies will probably ship internationally but, You may have to pay shipping costs and if a warranty issue comes up its a pain to ship internationally.

I would have went with a US company, but PlanetVape has great service, free shipping, and a bunch of other goodies in stock. Also, I noticed some companies state less that comes in the box kit. I'm not sure if thats actually true or not, but some seem to list less.

You're right, Kush Paradise ships to the UK. With shipping, it actually works out cheaper than the English site VaporLot. Pretty crazy.

Is the INH004 XP the newest model with the latest revisions, or is it something else I should be after?

Thats the model you are after. All official retailers will sell only the newest version. I know for a fact Kush Paradise will hook u up with the latest model. So most likely over 1280 if you were the one concerned about that earlier.

Hey guys.

A couple of questions. How you clean your vaps and caps? And how often?

And last bat not least... @HerbalHealing
Change the screen?? :hmm: I can't find any information about that point in inhalater.com
You can do that? :o
I have to do that for a proper maintenance?
How, please?

On the topic of screens....I try to use the unit upside down as much as possible. This prevents/minimizes the material from contacting the chamber's screen, keeping it cleaner much longer. A couple years ago, I was changing screens monthly, but now don't even need to change them after 3 months, but I just do for the sake of pampering my XP :)

I don't know that, I charge it more times now.

Inhalater told me that my unit is a Q2 and I can't find the post where the higher t° of each batch is written, if somebody can help me?

Depending on use it may vary, but I clean caps when they are hard to draw through, or enough build up the cleaning stick (straw) can't get. usually a couple weeks if you clean them while warm after your done your session(s) every time like me. even then, it feels i could go longer, but it varies. I drop one in iso and use the next cap. next day rinse/clean the first and leave it in waiting....30 seconds.

Screen - this is a grey area for me and I'm not sure but here's my take....
I went 6-7 months without changing it on my first INH and never had an issue. then I started doing it anyway and it never feels much different, just looks shiny again for the first few sessions. now that I keep it upside down, i probably never need to change, but it's just when i have time and feel like fiddling with it, and have a bunch of extras that came with it, so why not.
I gotta be honest though, it is a bit risky due to the possibility of scratching/damaging the walls of the chamber if you pull it out carelessly, so needs steady hands and the right tool. i had a hard time at first, but now that I use a better tool (hook ended wire & tweezers) I can get it out easier, but almost have to bend the screen a bit before pulling it out to ensure its edges don't scratch walls on way out.
main thing for me maintenance wise is, most importantly, keeping the chamber walls clean. caps can be easily replaced, but wall damage requires factory service. you don't want anything between the chamber and cap basically, and cleaning warm/hot is always easier then cold. the more you can do this, the less you'll need to actually spend time cleaning. a lazy friend of mine never cleans caps and ends up going through one per month, so depends on you. just care for the chamber wall.

I'm sure there's different approaches, or other things I'm missing, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

but you know what, compared to most vapes, portable or not, INH's requires less maintenance which is easier and quicker, as long as you use it with a bit of care like not pulling up the capsule when hot and right side up as crumbs will fall down and some WILL stick to the walls. ensuring outside of capsule is clean before inserting, etc

Be careful of import duties to the UK.....

Try using PBW to clean. Iso works, but requires motion to clean best.

You're looking for what about the Q2? The temp chart or just a source saying the range?

So, I bit the bullet and ordered my xp last night from kush paradise. I figure if it lives up to expectations, I can claim responsibility for making such a wise decision. If it doesn't, I can just blame those that spoke so highly of it. jk

I forget who said it, but the statement about it still being the better vape on the market even though it is currently not as highly praised as the q2, rang true.

Has anyone tried an oil sandwich in the unit? Seems like if it is 'sandwiched' enough, it would work.

You talking about Old School's comment?

Wooooo slow down there our fellow vaporist..... Although I too wish to convince the MFR to hear my pleas that they have drastically lessened this otherwise amazing "BEAST" of a vaporizer....I would still have to say even in its so called mediocre state....you will not be disappointed....as in the end when my replacement worked it was very noticeably less than my GF's still working at the time Q2 however I still chose it over my VB2.....it basically fit me better, size, ease of reload, cleaning...so better and still out performed my VB2 which is always gonna be the deciding factor......
So really if you are wanting a sweet ass portable......well my friend this is it........and listen.....you never had a Q2 so you won't really notice......

I doubt very seriously we have heard the last of this issue......

Still a top notch design.....not certain if it was accidental or intended but never the less a very clever design using a single element to both heat the material as well as the air entering the material....NICE..

But yeah, I definitely agree with you. The XP is the best on the market by a significant margin, so even if its weaker than the Q2 I don't think you will be disappointed. And not to mention I'm not still so certain the credibility of this issue. It hasn't been fully confirmed yet. I still think its just a matter of finding the new sweet spot, that isn't luckily right on the digit.

Any lithion ion battery should be kept between 80% and 100% in order to maximize battery life. Also, a deep discharge every month or two is good to keep calibration up. But never let the battery run completely dead. This goes for your phone and laptop as well, but I find it much harder to keep my phone battery above 80% lol.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for in the latter part of your post.

Best in the market? Brave statement... As much as I love the Inhalater, I wouldn't call it best in any significant area of interest. Very good all-around? Maybe... Best in what?

Please what is PBW? because ISO works for the screen but don't works on the polymide... and my caps are still black after a night iso soak...

Agreed, the poly does get discoloured over time but I don't think it impacts its effectiveness in any way,or at least I can't tell. As long as its nice and smooth clean on the outside it works like new for me.
