Fuck you !!!

During my 15yrs. in the Army I was deployed in numerous third-world shit holes, but the three years in Afganistan was a real eye opener. Those people literally have NOTHING,I mean nothing. No infrastructure at all. If some lucky bastard had acess to electricity he was the envy of the whole area. Now when I say they have nothing,I mean exactly that. In that part of the world just having a roof puts you in the upper class. No carpet,no furniture,no running water....it realy is like stepping back into the stone age. But somehow they make do. Tough people, they have to be just to survive. If your kid gets the flu he has about a 30% chance of survival. Even though I was being paid to shoot them,I had to admire their toughness. They don't back down from a fight....ever.
Once I got home I swore never to take anything for granted, especially the little things. I live in the mid-west and even the hogs and cattle live better than the average Afgan.
The moral of this story? I don't care how bad you got it,it could be worse, way worse. So please appreciate what you have and if you happen to have a little extra, help someone out. We're all in this together and we only get one go-around on this planet so let's make the best of it.
Or not,fuck I don't care.

Yup. While I never saw combat (things were quite a bit different in Pakistan and Afghanistan back in the 70's), I did witness how those people lived.

For me, the biggest adjustment (while fully realizing that my adjustments were nothing compared to those that were in combat) that I had to make when I came back to the states was listening to people complain about the most mundane things without having a clue of what the rest of the world has to put up with. It's like I wanted to grab them around the fucking collar and shake them while yelling in their face............"YOU HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA !!"

My medical care is done at the VA. I go there a few times a year, but even after all these years from the military (40 years ago), I still feel a kinship to the other vets that are there. There's a certain shared experience, while mine being much less severe than others, that is still profound, even today.

Fuck that...

You were lucky!
We lived for three months in a brown paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six o'clock in the morning, clean the bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down mill for fourteen hours a day week in-week out. When we got home, out Dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt...

Luxury!
We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel, go to work at the mill every day for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would beat us around the head and neck with a broken bottle, if we were LUCKY...

Well we had it tough!
We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife...

Right!
I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."

But you try and tell the young people today that, and they won't believe ya'...

Oh puhlease, thats not fucken hard.

My mum didnt bother with breast feeding, she just gave me hustler mags & shots of espresso coffee instead.
When it came time for my circumcision, the foreskin went onto the old toyota as a heavy duty fanbelt, where it still goes strong to this day. I was given tequilla for the pain while the nurse applied 1st aid orally.

I didnt have toys as a kid, mum just cut the bottoms out of all my pockets on my pants so Id have something to play with.
When I was seven id stick chillies & marbles up my ass & then go hunting the cat for fun.
(now I use mentos & diet cola)
My 1st fuck was a crack in the pavement using river sand for lube & my 2nd was a snakes infected asshole as it was being eaten by a crocodile.

Speaking of snakes, I had a 6ft taipan surprise me in the bush, so I surprised him then & there and turned the fucker into a belt & used his fangs to pop open my beers.

I also fought and died in 3 world wars, & have paid taxes for 240 years worked a 70 week year, 12 days a week, for 27 hrs a day!
& was once so hungry I had to eat my own fingers.

Now where is my free medical and pension for life?
