...... I heard very little bad about it. Only "almost con" would be that there's resistance when taking a hit, how hard is it? I'm used to puff on hard rolled joints so I guess I'll be alright! :p

Hi Tommy. Resistance does seem to be the main draw-back that people mention on here (excuse the pun!), but I haven't personally found that to be a problem with the standard stems, and I used to take relatively gentle tokes when I combusted. I am planning on buying some of Ed's stems though - not for improved function - but just because they look so awesome!
http://www.edstnt.com/index_files/woodarizersolovaporstems.htm

For me there are no major negative factors about the Solo. I suppose if I were forced to identify one, then it would be the need to replace the battery at some point in the future - but that goes without saying for a battery powered portable vape - like our mobiles/cells - they simply don't last forever. That said, the battery tends to last a long while and replacement is neither difficult nor super costly (there's guidance on how to DIY on this thread if you'd prefer not to return it to Arizer for replacement).

IMO you really can't go wrong with the Solo. I bought mine after reading through the reviews on here and watching reviews online - and I truly have not been disappointed. It performs wonderfully, produces very tasty vapour, and is so simple to clean. I don't usually reclaim, I tend to soak/wash my stems in Dr Green Bong Cleaner every 2-7 days. The chamber can also be cleaned with a cotton bud and a minute amount of ISO if needed (which isn't often - I haven't needed to with mine as yet).

Oh well, that's my :2c: ..... Hurry up and join the Solo club - you won't regret it!! ;) :peace: :leaf:

Wow very informative! Love the fact that I can change the battery myself in the future, I use to do that with my iphones and then it got super complex in the later models and dropped the ball hehe but it's very cool to be able to do so with the Solo!

Wooden stems look so cool! I might get one hehe

I'm getting very excited by all those testimonies! I'm 95% sure to order mine later today, I can't wait! :p

Thanks for the info, very appreciated!

Man I'm lost. I emailed Arizer about my solo and was told "if it works, it works." meaning if the lights come on they say the temperature must be correct. (Yeah but what if the heater itself is odd, not the electronics?)

But I still get flavorful but absolutely invisible vapor on 5, still very tasty on 6 but now I can see the faintest of mists, and on 7 I get vapor like a mflb. Basically on 7 I get vapor like the Pax on low but taste like the Pax on medium lol. I like the taste on 5 and 6 but honestly it's like drinking lite beer. More effort than it's worth IMO.

I love good taste, and the solo can provide that, but taste without substance is hollow. I have a feeling I'm going to marry my Cloud when I get it :D

How bizarre! That doesn't sound right at all. I get clouds of vapour even when I vape as low as setting 3. I'm just wondering if how tightly/full you're packing the stem or how hard you're drawing is having an influence ...... :peace:

I think what they're trying to tell you is given the nature of thermistors the chances it's functioning otherwise normally but out of calibration heatwise is basically zero. They just don't fail that way. The calibration is fixed by the mechanics and materials, which almost never change after installation (one of the reasons thermistors are so popular as a sensor).

Still, anything is possible.

Does the AVB eventually turn dark?

I can get a darker brown, but nothing ever close to this:

With no stirring I get brown next to the heater and very light brown everywhere else, on 7.]

Lol I think on 3 I get a light aromatherapy smell  But I pack pretty tight and draw pretty slow, when I first tried a loose bowl I got faint mist vapor even on 7.

Based on the tests I ran, the ones that showed 30 degree boosts in load temperature based on draw rate, I'd say you're looking at a material/technique issue then. I think it's general wisdom that iff it's getting brown it's getting hot enough.

Mine sure doesn't get that black, but maybe I'm not trying hard enough? You don't know anyone with a Solo or some extensive experience with it? Some who could compare or give you their take?

I'm sure you can send it in (at your cost) for a check up, but from what I know of how it works and your report that you can get evidence of some vapor and darkened ABV my bet is the temperatures are on par. This is a closed loop system, not generally subject 'I think I got one of the hot ones' like we see in open loop vapes like MFLB, Omicron and so on. Since the temperature step and battery status displays share a common channel the chances of problems there are also basically zero IMO.

I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's about the last thing I would suspect.....and it's easy enough to eliminate if you can live without your Solo for a few weeks?

Good luck.

I'm sure trying, I'm noticing more vapor with a fast steady inhale? It's actually pretty unconfortable so I can see why people like the f-bomb/pinnacle tube. If I draw as slow as I'd like to the vapor peters out to nothing...

This is 0.16g no stirring with a fast draw (seems to be a sweet spot for vapor production, meaning I can see some) but this is as dark as I could humanly get it, a full 24 minutes on 7:

So I guess you have to stir? I was surprised how dark it was for how thin the vapor is...

 It is deliciously tasty on setting 3, but after a couple of draws I find that setting can also produce decent clouds. I'll often take a few draws on 3 to start off with, to really appreciate the taste of the herb. Then crank it up a little to appreciate the fuller benefits. I don't usually set mine higher than 5/6 - unless I'm in pain or have insomnia, & don't aim to get my abv ^^^that dark in colour ^^^ either - but could probably achieve that on level 7.

I get thicker hits when I mix in concentrates, and use a very fine grind on the flowers. But thicker than I can reasonably handle in a single sitting. With straight flowers, loose pack + a pvhes - can get a lot of air in there, which might cause some waste.

Making more sense now. It's a small load and I think it tends to work in stages (only part of the load at the magic temperature at any point in time).

Here's something I think is worth trying: Vape a few hits off the load, pull the stem, dump the load in your palm and 'finger grind' the now dry herb up and put it back in again. I'm betting that the increase in surface area and reshuffling the load will yield a bigger hit nest time?

Woah the mod looks awesome! Good job :p

About the oily stem, how bad will it be to clean? And how long did it take to get that dirty? I'm new to vaping altogether so I'll be asking lots of questions :p

Thanks a lot!

I say this every time someone asks. To clean make a cup of coffee with some cream and milk (fats increase absorption). Then just drink your coffee through the stem. But hold onto your seat its going to be a fun ride lol. I find it not to powerful but it lasts for hours in my experience.

I have had this problem before and it was due to too moist material. Is it really moist? Maybe let a bowls worth air dry for alittle while and test it.

The SOLO is a No Brainer.
CANNABIS is the focus!
You will be stoked!
Get a wooden stem if you like?
I used mine twice over a year ago.

Yeah I got the stealth pvhev stem it nice now I like my solo, for its complete... Change batts that's always been easy. Revived my MacBook Pro batt.. Solo is tasty too.. I hit it on high and fast.. Keep it going.. Got used to draw rate, so, boo! It's a nice vape/aroma therapy unit.

There was a lil piece of glass in there, but in general the bottom of the loads do get that dark, yes 7 start to finish.

Arizer Solo

why do you need it that dark anyway? Is it some sort of indicator as to how efficiently you vaped the herb? ..mine is half that dark and i get ripped all day with the SOLO

SOLO FTW!

The darkness just happens since I'm ripping hard on 7 with a bubbler. I think it simply indicates a full spectrum high temp vape. I did another session last night and yeah, sometimes the "sweet spot" of when to hit can be tricky, at one point I had a packed shorty that I just had to turn off even tho I was still getting big rips out of it, I just couldn't handle any more, the abv was dark again, but it still had a couple of hits left.

I got mine from ebay too recently. Amazing vape, has become my daily driver. Much better for conservation and more hits per bowl than any other vape I have used also. Looove it.

Put a stainless steel screen in the wand though. Bits tend to come flying through into your mouth/bong water otherwise. A screen completely eliminates this problem for me. Just snip it perfectly into shape and slot er in. I think there are other wands out there that other parties have made which have only a screen and improve airflow but to be honest the airflow is not a problem at all for me. I have always taken slow drags.

I post way too much!
Sorry friends,
ataxian

I have a few vaporizers however this little guy I keep using everyday!
With a PA even cordless.
I use level 4 for WET or DRY.

I have 2 of them and they kick A@@!

The thought to a $800 vaporizer is like a $800 blow dryer.!!
OK I'm full of it!
It's just that for $160 or less you can medicate nicely!
My first one was $300 and is now 2 years old!
It has more than paid for its self since!
