I'd try up'ng your wattage some more to the 36 watt range for flower and 39 watt for dabs.

The color of your left over should help help indicate the speed at which to draw. I typically give a 1-2 count at that range before hitting once the Apollo is placed down, and pull a steady comfortable draw.

the fact from session 1.5 : i torched it while inserted in the bowl, i did not have the chain because the nioddle i used did not have a hole of attachement. so i was maneouvering the ufo with leathermann. I torched the ufo for too long i think and the ufo was stuck on bowl, when i lifted it the niddle was not rigid anymore, so an immediate plasticity appeared and the threadings of niddle appeared broken.

Then i finished the job by pulling out all threading of niddle and i took the niddle of the minitube (that i replaced by teflon HA stem) to have an ufo back. What a feature of conception!

the advice i give by experience is :
now, when cold i torch the ufo not properly seated on the bowl, so no more stucking situation.
i am not sure by the effect of the same situation by pulling on ufo by the chain making efforts more axial.

Anyway there is a point where too much torching is too much.

Well folks mercury kit is a real sturdy dabbing station and flower power instant extraction. I cant wait for an appolo of my own.

Ya trick is the plumer torch forsure.... I also have started giving the sputnik a 1min warm up with the torch then torch the entire thing for 30 seconds then the middle tube for the last 30 seconds. Pull off Sputnik and add herb. Torch for another 15 seconds only on the middle rod. Perfect hits every time for me.

Yea just keep turning it up little by little until you find the money spot (you will know when you hit it) and you can always check your nug color as an indicator. Also make sure your atomizer equilibrates to the apollo temp, once the apollo has been on for a good half an hour make sure you place it on top of the atomizer for a good 5-10 minutes before subbin.

Yea that's right on buddy.. It's how we use tha sub...sucking now...yum:D you got to love this thing.. It's truly great. I'm a fan alright it's just the best way to medicate.. I'm crumbling now.. Subbed ok! Bang it's sweet. I have 1 hour to wait till I can buy that 5s thing.. My old one is... Er.. Well dead.. Good night, I'm off to sub, then buy the new iPhone, then shower and minivap before a sleeping... You all sub well and sweet flights...

I usually would just leave the apollo on a few minutes prior to packing my pinches with the atomizer. This way by the time you are ready to hit it there is no wait for thermal equilibrium as they should both be hot enough within the time it takes to grind your herb or whip your dabber tool. I would give it a few seconds and then rip it as fast as I want.

Has anyone gotten a chance to directly compare the e-nail to the Apollo with herb? I might have looked over it previously or this might be what tweek was asking about. I know Enrico says apollo for herb and e-nail for concentrate but an independent opinion would be interesting. I'm interested if the e-nail might be a more durable choice. So far I don't believe I've heard of heater problems in the e-nail.

If im not mistaken, the e-nail only vaporizes herb not sublimate it.

I'd say the Apollo is the way to go for the best of both worlds.... Just take more smaller dabs on the Apollo rather than be limited choosing the other and not sublimating that herb.

And HELL.... you'll find yourself sorry not to be able to trying out one of those 'double decker' hits :freak:

Another reason I like the UFO setup, it does both oil and herb.

I got my Belkin wattage meter coming in next week so I am so stoked to finally find the sweet spot accurately instead of my guesstimations. Also got iolite screens on the way. Does anybody know if it is perfect fit for the top ledge of the atomizer?

depending on type, the doubles fit perfectly, the "framed" version is a little large and sits at a slight angle, but neither will slip below

The double woven screens are the 'doubles' you were referring to? Am I correct? I want to find the perfect fit for both ledges cause I am trying to make sure the herb matter doesn't get mixed with the Subclaim. I have a hard time doing this. Any suggestions for a smaller screen size for the bottom ledge?

correct, the double woven, between 2 of those in rotation and an ultrafine (from planetvape.ca get a pack) down below that only gets cleaned every 3 days or so, my sublimate is almost particle free. i like the barrier down below for when i toss my herb in w/out a screen (happens more than i'd like) also the doubles have superb air flow. the ultrafine are perfect for wedging down there. my often repeated, two cents ;).

I'm finding the PV ultrafine screen is getting clogged up in about 24 hours. The ultra fine screen placed low is necessary for clean sublimate. It's crazy how much material is caught in the screen.

I do too many double deckers in the morning, get half way to work, and Drive back home because I can't remember if sub is off.

To harvest sublimate that has dropped into my Glass pipe, I turn it upside down, and lightly heat up The sublimate oil covered area with a small blue flame torch. The sublimate flows towards the glass joint where it easily collected and then dabbed. Solvent free orange citrus gooey goodness.

I was having problems with draw restriction, turns out I had neglected to check the mouthpiece tube. It was filled with a lighter-colored than usual sublimate, possibly diluted with saliva(?).

It seems stickier that usual as well in my goo jar or whatever it's called but it works just fine!

10 min, including two and a half min warm up, and I had 3 bowls which equals out to 6 really big sub hits. Herb still green. But wow can I medicate fast with the UFO. This thing is amazing me. I'm using a Y adapter with a stopper. Works great for carbing and I don't really care if my adapter sticks to the Teflon. It's my fail safe if this thing breaks any glass. Hoping it will just break the adapter if anything. UFO Sputnik love!!!!!!! :freak::freak::whoa:

This may sound weird but the sublimate tastes different if its collected from a glass piece rather than the bottom of the atomizer. The stuff coming out the atomizzer is red, but the stuff from the glass is yellow/orange.

Anyone else notice this ?

stuff coming out of glass is mixed with the *wand hash* like stuff that comes right off the joint of an oil rig or phves, etc

i'd say part of the reason that your lower screen is getting clogged faster is due to the double deckers at slightly too low of a temp. same was happening to me. i believe the oil was clogging the lower screen. when i upped the temp to next to black for the herb, then added the oil (which will cool the hit for the herb a bit as well) i hit that magic spot, my two cents

Just cleaned my screens and turned her up to 36ish watts. Did two double deckers at 37.2 watts. Love it. My room is getting that sub smell going that someone else mentioned earlier. Now that's some cologne.

If your reading this, don't have a Sublimator, and are serious about cannabis then buy one.

Edit: has anyone run a sub via deep Marine battery and inverter? Maybe Enrico did in the 10 holes of sublimation video?

I am thinking backpack or hard case for the battery for subbing on the go. I have a 100 watt inverter for the vehicle, but have not paired it with the sub yet.

I picked up a silicone oven mitt, turned it inside out and then put the atomizer and Apollo heater inside for taking it to friend's houses. Best part is you don't have to wait for it to cool down much though you may want to wrap it in a t-shirt if it's still giving off a lot of heat.
