The HI

If you just recently emailed him then that is to get on the list, but not to start the production.

Some of us waited over a year before we were contacted again for production, but that was because for many months all work was on hold while Alan packed up and moved to a new place that allowed him to have a better workshop to do his work with. Now he's moving along faster than he has ever been.

You can search for wood online, buy it, and send Alan that blank so that he uses that wood for you. Otherwise, he will let you know what wood he has on hand and you can select which one interests you. I opted for a simple cedar wood as I care more about functionality than anything else, but the gorgeous woods that people have been selecting out there have encouraged me to pick one of those instead if I buy another HI.

If you haven't checked out his site there is more info there: http://toasty-top.com/

I loved being on this list and waiting for my first HI. What the hell, Alan, put me at the bottom of the list again for yet another HI saber!! I have the feeling that 'interplanetary movement' is about to break loose.

I knew it was only a matter of time before Master Alan Wan Kenobi would continue his vast mission. My HI saber is the only vape I use. Period

Got my used Bloodwood HI yesterday afternoon. WOW, it is way smaller than I thought. The PD was the only log vape I had seen in person until the HI and I still can't get over how small it is.

I'll post pics once the rest of the gear arrives. It's driving me crazy that I have a HI now but no power adaptor or turbo tubes to use it with.

Looking forward to seeing pics. I take it you didn't order CentiZen's mini-VVPS?

No I didn't, I'm still pretty uncomfortable with the VVPS system, plus I heard that you have to DIY with the HI?

Either way I'm alright with just a standard plug in from Alan. I haven't had my own vaporizer in almost 3 weeks now (such is the tragedy of moving from US to Canada, makes moving vapes a little more tricky). Been living off my cousin's Davinci and Volcanos at the BCMP Vapour Lounge. I just want to vape in my room with my glass already!

With that said, I'll look into it. Didn't know it existed honestly. The HI seems like the greatst vape ever for accessories so I'm sure I'll be adding more and more gear in the near-future..

Not sure about how DIY CentiZen's mini-VVPS is. It seems he's doing everything to simplify it for the end user. It's currently in the Beta testing stage. Starting with the standard makes sense and if you find yourself wanting temp variability, then revisit the VVPS situation.

Welcome to Canaduh. I live in Van too. If you feel so inclined message me.

Alright Jedhi's, my BFF sent me a present today. I VVPS, tattoo type. They had alreadt rigged and ready to go so all I had to do was plug and play.

What I want to share further are my finding as far as setting that seemed to work for me.

I started with 11

SAM_0243_zps386dfc90.jpg

I found it to offer a very mild vapor but rich in flavor. If I had to compare to something similar I would say it would equivalent to a solo set at 2 - 3. Here's the first set of ABV after my initial 2 pulls....

SAM_0251_zps530b0c2b.jpg

then 11.59

SAM_0251_zps530b0c2b.jpg

11.99

SAM_0254_zpsef65e1a9.jpg

12.26

SAM_0254_zpsef65e1a9.jpg

12.77

SAM_0254_zpsef65e1a9.jpg

12.89

SAM_0267_zps799ddbf2.jpg

and after four pulls ut was a nice tan but completely dry. MAXIMUM FUCKING EXTRACT!!

I would say the level of extraction would rival or dare I say surpass the cloud! I got every single damn drip of flavor possible. Sciencing is so fucking cool if the end result is you being HI!

Enjoy fellow Jedhi's!

You could.the PD psu should work fine and also any 5/8 silicone hose will work exceptionally well with the HI to get you through when the shtf.
Order the all glass turbo and a ss tip from Alan ,maybe even a wong too:brow:

I use an all glass cloud bowl with mine.the HI turns the contents to coffee in no time.excellent taste too.I posted it a while back.I like it because I m a bit lazy and like to medicate without changing out too much.I get concentrate forming in the bottom of the bowl
the Ss tip works well too.It plooms ,almost explodes :) because of the intense heat from the HIs heater.

Im loving all these new HIs.Stu that lilac is badass :spliff:.Good luck to you and Dr Pluto.

alan...would it be a bad idea to run that pig tail directly to a plug that goes into all these vvps we are getting?

It just depends upon the plug for the VVPS. Was thinking it would be nice if there was an adapter that would go from 1/4" mono plug to a 2.1mm x 5.5mm plug. Then I could just use a DC extension cord of any length and it would be easy to replace if the cable gets damaged. So I soldered a 2.1mm x 5.5mm plug to a 1/4" mono plug. I wanted to test out a new VVPS that I had purchased.

I got an Elfin Power EP-1 mini tattoo power supply. There were no instructions on which socket was to be used for the foot switch. I figured it must not matter. Stuck a short piece of 1/4" stainless tubing into one socket in place of the foot switch. My new adapter worked great in the other socket. I noticed that it was drawing about 1.2 watts with no load. When I adjusted the voltage to 12 and plugged in a HI, the power usage was about 10.2 watts. The HI was drawing 9 watts and the VVPS 1.2 watts.
The VVPS was making a whining sound that drove me crazy so I had to turn it off.

Ace.357 - Thanks so much. Glad you are enjoying it. Sorry you had to wait so long.

When I do get to a persons name on the list, I use the email that they used to first contact me. If someone changes email addresses, they might not get my email. If anyone has been on the list for more than a year and you haven't heard from me, please send me an email.

Stu - I got your bottom cap and WonG tube finished. The HI is 1-3/16" in diameter. The smallest one I have made. The wood is almost 1/16" thin at the top. Could have never done it with the old core. Haven't been able to get a good photo as it hasn't stopped raining in days. We are starting to wash away here. At least my shop is staying dry.

Thanks Ed. So fun to turn really expensive wood once in a while. Hope you are getting a chance to learn your new lathe.

Jam - Thanks for posting the video. Good to see you staying HI.

ghost>boogie on - If I sent you an email saying that I got to your name on the list, then we can decide on wood and roasting tube options.

Thanks for the kind words Jeppy. Glad your HIsaber is still serving you well.

Dr. Plutonious - They are surprisingly small. Hope your power supply arrives soon so you can start wielding your HIsaber. Start out with a small amount in the roasting tube so you get good air flow. You will find the point at which you add to much and risk combustion due to low air flow.

mvapes - Thanks for posting the photos. Is that a U Tube in the photo? Good to see you experimenting.

Mrmrmrmr - You may not need to go much over 12.5 volts even for concentrates. I roast dirty hemp filters at 12 volts and get tremendous clouds. It is better for the HI if you drop the voltage to around 10 at night if you do leave it plugged in 24/7.

Still working on solo bushings now. I did just get a coolant system installed on it, SS gets really hot. Alan do you run coolant? I about have the bushings figured out. There is so much to learn.

really dig your adapter above, good thinking bro!

The standard plug is sufficient to start. The awesome thing about the HI is you will get vapor super quick. And if your using direct draw method, you will get vapor the fastest, especially with the stainless. Again if using direct draw technique only, take the tube you are using and use it to dry hit and draw some of the heat off before you take a hit, but this is only after the HI has been plugged in for an hour or more. :peace:
