Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

Thanks for the replies everyone!
Im sure this is user error, I just want to know what i can do to help my carts live longer.

Edit: I just found some concentrate had leaked through the center of the cart, Is this normal? I know leaking is fairly normal but I dont know if it can make the cart stop working.

You're welcome, we're not there yet of course......

No heat at all is suspicious. There are two heaters, the chances of both packing in at the same time are slim. I would not expect to see any light after the oil has been burned on some, even when new I think 'dry burns' are to be avoided, guys wreck a lot of carts that way.

Floods that leak down happen too, and can actually cause the cart to fail. Have you carefully cleaned everything (socket and cart) up with ISO? I mean 'squeaky clean'? Oil doesn't conduct electricity very well at all. I think we have an electric, not cart problem. Maybe.

BTW, next time load half a gram, less leaks.......

Edit: I just noticed G has take charge....good stuff, he invented it you know (yeah, it's his fault....). I leave you in his (more) capable hands.

Update For Omicron SR71 Edition for oils.

There simply is no way for this technology to be used on a small battery like the 14650 or even the 14500 AW IMR batteries. It works like a dream on the core at 3.7v but not on batteries.

Ok but on the other side, if we take the oil coil out, put herb in it and some oil in layers like:

Herb oil herb oil herb oil herb oil

It does do a nice vapor production.

Sorry to Say the 3.7v SR71 Oil version is only for 18650 Batteries and or with the Core

Recap.

Omicron SR 71 for oils on batteries: No

Omicron Sr 71 for Herbs on batteries: yes

Omicron SR 71 for herbs and oils no oil coil on batteries : Yes

Will the Omicron with HVD work with the 7.4v SR-71 for oil?

Is there a diffrence between the black persi and the colored ones?

Look at where the "Persei" is printed on the body. If it is printed right under the button like you see with the Red, Teal, and other colors then you can assume that is the newer one with upgraded electronics. I am not sure about the Black Persei but I know there is a difference between the Chrome Persei and the rest (price is lower, because I think its the older model).

thevaf,
Well i saw that the chrome was cheaper but the black wasn't. I want a black one but does it have the new upgrades? also if it doesnt how much superior are the colored ones?

Should i buy the persei now or will there be a new version coming out? Please help
Rumor is there is an Iris top (adjustable voltage with digital screen) coming out soon so you might want to wait for that.

I think that's a mighty good rumor. As one of the 100 owners of the original version I'm anxiously watching for the new one (and replacement of the original). My understanding is it's being fine tuned, at least feature wise. Something not good to rush IMO. I'm confident it will happen.

However, that's only part of machine, it's a top only. You'll need a regular Persei body to screw it on to, no need to wait on that buy IMO. The sooner you get it, the sooner you can enjoy it. Persei is actually a pretty nifty vape in it's own right IMO, I sure enjoy mine (I have 3....), even without the VV Iris head (my Iris ate a couple of carts going to 'full blast' on some whim, I don't trust it any more......

I say, go for it. The chrome ones are cheap (being phased out I think). I have one, I thought I'd dislike it but it can kind of grow on you.....not the last word in stealth though. Even though the electronics is 'the old version' it's fully guaranteed and will be quickly replaced, I'd guess with the current version?

BTW. for now it still comes with two tops, one single and one dual. I understand that will be going away soon, but for now you get a free backup top.....some of put that on the short aftermarket tube and use one 18350 making a 'mini Persei' of sorts.

I also heard another rumor that the Persei as it is now will be phased out and all of them replaced with a VV version (Iris v2? - probably).
This was told to me when I visited Delta9's office location to get my Omicron HVD warrantied. (I ended up getting a jumping in full-on with Persei with Hercules attachment! and a new HVD top for my Omicron...Go big or go home eh?)

O ok thank you for the information but do you have any idea what the improvements are?

The improvements made to the Persei tops are mostly so that they can deal with over-current and short circuit conditions, as well as have generally more robust electronics (this is the also the case with Omicron v2 vs v2.5). They also added a 20sec safe-off timer (Persei turns off after holding the button down for 20 seconds -but just release for second and re-engage to get around this).
This generally was not an issue until now, where W9Tech has released new the high-power (and hard-hitting) Hercules SR-71. Some people who had an old Persei, and assembled their SR-71 incorrectly caused it to short-circuit, and then damaged their Persei top. The new ones have protection built-in that keeps the Persei from frying during a short-circuit.

Either way if you buy an old or new Persei, if you break it, they replace it. I think since the release of the SR-71, anyone who purchased one and blew out their Persei top has already been sent a new top with the upgrades.

So it really doesnt matter if its Old Persei or New Persei top, because eventually you can still have it replaced for the newest, latest and greatest. This is true for the Omicron as well (I just had my older HVD top replaced with newer HVD top).

I think the problems lie with the V2 omicron, but it could have just been the one i got.
Mine wasnt working so i took it in to W9 and they hooked me up with the HVD version for free after i mentioned that i had purchased the hercules and it wasnt working. ( though i did have warranty )

Now both the hercules 3.7 and cartridges work. I initially thought the carts were the problem but after 3 carts didnt work in a row, i suspected the unit itself.

One thing i dont understand is, how do i make the HVD top give off 7.4v? Also will the new hercules SR work with the HVD top and will i have to get different batteries? ( i have the batteries that came with my omicron V2 )

Also i dont understand why vaporwarehouse sells the bundle with the V2 omicron and hercules 3.7 if the hercules wasnt meant for that unit.. Though im sure W9 would upgrade you, so in the end the buyer wins ( you just lose time waiting or gas to drive but its worth it, HVD top goes for like $100+ extra.. ) but seems like W9 gets ripped in the process ( someone can just buy the bundle and get HVD top for free, like me.. )

Anyway will the Hercules SR work with the V2.5 omicron? ( Im assuming mine is the V2.5 because of the HVD top and buttom i received but the V2.5 omicron might be different.. )

(I just had my older HVD top replaced with newer HVD top).

Can you tell me what the different between old HVD top and the new one?

The run the HVD at 7.4v you would need to buy the 14250 batteries. The Hercules SR 71 can not be used at 7.4v with the HVD as the 14250 batteries are not up to the task.

On a side note.

If I'm reading correctly, I see "Approved For Use ..." lists the Minicron(?), O-Phos and Omicron-lite; How do those handles work with the CORE?

(For anyone else - the green under yellow under white text in the photo - And yes, the rest of the text is mostly legible also.)

The usb for the Ophos, and Omicron light.

The Minicron will get the insert to allow you to use it.

how about some good news for omicron users.

Got the SR 71 to finally work on the 14650 battery, but the 14500 just sucks and cant work.

I would say couds are as good as 3 ohm at 3.7v or better.

Using the blue rod, regular 14650 imr, Coil cut to 30%, and warm up time of about 15 seconds

I ordered some 14650 efest imrs test them out. See how it works.

This 3.5 ml tank has the threading to fit omicron , no adapter needed.

Also has the holes on the outside rather than the inside near the threads, no air restriction here.

Sounds great, except the part where a $14 tank comes out to $26 after that shipping charge and not to mention the fucking handling! wtf is that??

What kind of threading does the omicron have? can I go elsewhere for a tank?

I beleive its a 601 threading , you can get an adapter which would require a 601 male to 501 female, or these tanks that already have the 601 threading.
I hear ya, shipping can be a damper at times.
Hope this helps.

Hi all, after weeks of reading these forums I went ahead and pulled the trigger on an a brand new ophos and now I have a few questions before I start using it. I'm hoping you experts can help.

I don't want to mess around at all with the regular carts, I just want one thing that will last a long time. So I figure ill get a ce4 tank, I don't know electronics so is the ophos 3.7v? A good match for the 2.5 whatever ce4 tank on the d9 website? I suppose I'll have to use either pure gold or get lucky enough to find a place in van nuys that has oil as thin as pure gold(sounds like a myth). are canna nectar or organalabs oils not thin enough? Is there any tank that can handle things like co2 oils?

Was I better off getting a vv e cig for the ce4 tanks or is ophos good with those?

And finally, does the d9 collective sell pre-filled ce4 tanks? How long does a gram last in a tank? I take small puffs and do not chase clouds. Do the gentlemens brand ce4-looking tanks sold by goddessdelivers.com work on the ophos and if so, are they quality medicine?

Vaporizing background:

Proud owner of a volcano since 2007. Have been strictly vaping since, hate smoke/combustion now. Limited concentrate experience. Have never had a vape pen until now(also just got an o.pen but i think i can do better) Have zero tolerance so I imagine one puff on an oil vape pen would do me in for the night. O.pen does on 2.And if I can get 1 gram to last 200-400 puffs than this would be extremely economical for me, and a lot easier than stocking up on an ounce every 3-4 months.

Sorry for being a noob and thank you for any and all helpful replies!

I noticed that the Omicron V2.5's have recently gone on sale at the W9Tech website. Is something new coming out that I should be aware of? Also, what's the deal with the HVD kit? HVD is too short to search on FC, and I noticed it's not on their website anymore.
