Grokit it makes hotter, I'll edit in later, show pics of new findings. Lucky I have 2 minivaps! I dropped my babe yesterday and it lived. Now I notice it not too hot.. I modded my other one and use that whilst I fix this one. It's well made but has one issue. No solder for clean air means mechanical electric connections. The drop created some dilation( widening) of the heater core sandwich. The heater ceramic is strong and ok. The metal tab plates have come bit loose. Bad connection to ceramic heater. Pictures ill edit in will show all. I'll be using my rebuilt one later tonight will pop vid on too ok. Will show how if you dare you can get plenty hot enough for tobacco.. It must be HOTTER for tobacco! I'm getting more silicone cones too...

Damn got this one hot as hell.. It vaporises the load in 4 hits. The tobacco comes out nearly black... So border line. Look back later for pics. I'll rebuild and picture all steps to show the setup for fast vape ( hottest) or slow vape ( colder relatively). Minivap is best portable period. Only draw is its large, but 21-24 watts of heater and battery is large.. Can only be.

I just wish there was a way to eliminate the 12 minute standby and 12 minute auto shutoff. I would personally like to completely do away with the 12 minute standby as it does not suit my needs. I understand there needs to be some auto shut off on a device that creates as much heat as a vaporizer and especially on a portable to save battery life, but for my use it is not necessary. At the very least I wish it shut off every 60 minutes like the Cloud.

I love high temp vapor so I am interested in this mod but I would never convince myself to try these things out as I have no experience in this field and I am very bad with things like this! I do appreciate the information and tip my hat to you for being able to modify these already-great products!

Ok I've got answers:

After failure due to dropping, creating open circuit to connection to heater I fixed her and found....

1. The heater ceramic core is encased in a plastic. Hi temp, odourless. Inside is a sandwich of 4plates and the ceramic. 2plates have plastic laminate on both sides. 2 plates have laminate on one side. The whole sandwich is in a plastic wrapping, melted together

OmlH28L.jpg

See, look at end where wires not go! This side is the melted side. They do that to seal the heater away from airflow. I had some of this plastic and used it... Now to get it hotter ill get back to you once I've built the control board.

2. Heater is 10-15 ohm in resistance the unit uses 18-20 watts, not much for this task. They use good insulation and airflow control to get it hotter... So cover it up, makes it hotter, only cover if it not use the circuit built in. That is heater is connected straight to battery.

3. Timer ah that thing... Made me stop using solo! Almost did in minivap too.. Buzz kill it is... That is why I started to mod it. 12 mins ah get out of town. I connect heater direct to batt, get more batt time, one cold start, no down then up on current until I hit it, it's a natural behaviour of heater wire. It sucks the juice when cold and when hot uses nothing much. When one cools it by hitting it, the current draw goes up a bit then down once its warm.. So cover it! Pull in warmer air less work for battery. I get 5-7 hours run covered up.

4. Start up on charger... Let mains warm it up from cold.. Save that batt..

5. Don't pack your cone load it and use silicone cap. Gets hot air up fast where it's needed

I'm goin to sleep night vapers

I was a little bit worry about my clear abv coming out my MV, that's why I put in my HA(a full packed crucible) at max temp and take a draw after 30s, nothing except a whispy cloud without any taste is happenning.
This is convince me about MV efficiency(HA is famous to be efficient) because the MV is so smooth that sometime I can't believe that I'm exhaling because i don't feel it in my lungs!

And for the first time my wife try to vape (she never smoke, try vape sometime but without pleasure because she hated to cough..) and she took some nice draws at pink level, she like the taste, she don't cough and for the first took enough draws to feel the effect and appreciate it! she told me the tomorrow morning that she slept better than she can remind..

I tried before hasch in the basket, really smooth but the basket came out a little bit dirty, as I prefer to keep it clean for flowers I tried today a Elb cap like a basket for hasch it works nice and it could be a good solution to get many baskets because i'll like to load my baskets for the evening and nothing more to do....

I read on this thread that the MV's high is less stoner than for others vapes, I think it's true in the evening it could let me sometime a tiny "unsatysfied" and a little bit nervous (somes "impatiences" in my arms and in my legs), and I need to come back to my Cloud or Xp to get satisfaction...

But I like it, pure effect, pure taste, pure design, the better when you want to take your time to vape and the better for my throat and it don't need lot of bud!

Yeah I felt that way at first but now with extra heat it's better, satisfying for tobacco too. I'm much happy. It's not too strong subjected to the lifestyle I lead, broken it a few times now including the tabs that hold cap on... But I fix it lives on strong. Still will buy the latest version out of minivap store direct. They emailed me, new one is hotter, more battery efficient too.. Still my oldie, dropped and more still gets me my yeehars. I do really get 5-6 hours run per battery, so good how its there always.. Warmed and ready.. I use a strap bag to carry it, it's a hot bag too now. He he he.. Hands free toting and toking too.. See picture:

Outputting small cloud there, tail end of big one.. Will get video to show the clouds it makes... And smoke ringgies too. It's like smoking almost. Just not as harsh and deadly.. Just tasty and great. Enjoy.. Look at sublimator..I'm subbing now then minivaping in the shower, Mflb in the bed if I wake in a few hours... It's nice.. You guys enjoy it all. Life is sweet with mj and Toby.

See minivap and sublimator here in action...

See sublimator thread it's nice... Subbed.. Oh happy mini..

Hey all! I am looking to run my Minivap through a water piece. I dont have the new cone, so what would be the next best method? I would imagine some tubing, but how would I get it to fit on the glass?
Thanks for any suggestions!

I just use a few different sizes of silicone tube over each other to make an adapter fit that fits in my 14mm GonG pieces. For 18mm I do similar but make it so the multiple silicone pieces fit in to a 14-to-18 adapter.

Thanks Jcat! Any particular kind of silicon tubing or someplace online that you recommend?

You can use the hose from the ssv.
It's working for me.
They are 18mm if I remember well...

It's 4 month I'm using the MV. I'am still very happy with it. Learning everyday a new trick.
With time I discovered I like it in dry mode with pink temp.
It's the best vape I ever own.
Now I want more with the update and new thing coming.

The MV is one of my better choice, many peoples thinks that it's too expensive, that's true but on this price point there is many others vapes and someones are not so good than the MV....

I'm waiting for update and news improvements and for Ed'sTNT stem.....

Or is it for real?

I must say, I am definately enjoying my MiniVap more with this set-up...
ps it's connected by putting the two pieces of silicone over eacht other. Must keep it in your hand, but seals it off perfect.

Hey,

I just bought a miniVAP and read the Quick Start Guide. However, I can't figure out which one is the solid filter, since none of the filters look similar to the one depicted in the Guide. Please help!

Hey, what do you mean with solid filter?
you should have little meshed cups, like cups made of screens. You can either load your material in there, r load it straigth up the tube of the vaporizer. Then you would need to insert a screen with a metal surrounding in the silicone sealing piece(little piramid)

If you use the mesh cups and you have the new silicone tips then you can also attach it to the tip right along with the screen, there is a rim for that.

let us know if you figured it out...you are in for e treath;) enjoy

In the Guide they differentiate between solid filter for plant material and liquid filter for oils. I just have different kinds of filters but I'm not sure which one is the solid one.

solid one, so for plant material, is a normal screen, with or without a metal ring arround it. The ones with the metal ring work really well with the new silicone tips because they have a rim where you can slide it under, look back in this thread, al is explained and shown in detail with pictures.

I think I got it. I'm waiting now for the vaporizer to do his work and hope I did nothing wrong :)

Thank you very much for the super fast answers(that saved my much needed sleep, because I was just waiting for my vaporizer before going to bed :) )

Status report: Used the vap yesterday. During use, I didn't feel like I was actually inhaling vapor, more like air with a light Marijuana-taste. I had it set on the highest temp. So I wasn't quite sure if it was working. However, today, as I removed my herb from the vap, it had lost its green color, so I guess it worked. Some more questions:

I had it set on the highest temp, so I had to wait until the red light stops blinking. After a while the red light just glowed instead of blinking so I started inhaling. Then, after some time, the blue light started blinking. What does that mean? Was it right to just continue inhaling? After some while, when I thought "I'm done", I just pulled the power plug. Is that ok to do? Thanks for your answers.

There is a autoshutoff which change setting to the colder one (blue) after 12mn, I had the same feeling the first tries, to get the better vapor production you need:
- don't pack the bowl
- dry material (not moisture)
- medium or fine grinding
- I like to start at green level and when unit starts to produce vapour i go down to pink level
- it's a pure convection vape, you need to draw slowly to heat your load before to draw faster to increase vapour thickness
- remenber that better is mj, more vapour you get

if you follow this you don't need red setting except with water fitration
Good vape

Exactly, use dry to the gland material, let it out for several days in a very dry room. Moisture has to get out of the resin glands if it doesn't you end up with goo allover and not a proper vaporization.

Another thing that is so important with this vape. I'm always catching myself putting more than necessary and I end up coughing like hell, with a thinner vapor and the bowl seems like not so well done. I grabbed a bowl from last night and it was still sticky inside

Some fluffy bud will fill the chamber to the top with .1 while with some rock hard nugs a half filled bowl is already .1 and if you full pack you end up with .2 which is too much, ruins the experience as I stated above.

The best is to use a scale with a good resolution and weight your bowls or at least weight a couple to give you an idea. 100 mg of dry ground good is the ideal size for the MV.

If it's not cloudy enough you may want to try with other varieties or pull a bit harder, it's easier with a water tool.

My MV completely broke!!!! :{{{{} unit won't turn on anymore, but before it broke it started to so weird stuff. First it didn't stop after coming up to temp, it kept going until it overheated! Then it was giving a weird taste. To make things worst I cannot get a hold of Hermes... I emailed them a couple times, what to do what to do
