Vaporbrothers Dabbler & Eleven Pen

I have the HE flathead dabber and the shape is great for wiping clean on the rim of the Dabbler!

Exactly what I need. I'm going to order one today! I was also going to order some oil slick mini balls for storage. I think they come with an airtight container to store the balls. Are you familiar with those and are they a good choice? I want my concentrates to stay fresh for as long as possible. I plan on buying like 3 grams of concentrates at a time which should last me almost two months. Will most concentrates stay fresh for that long in those oil slick balls?.

3 grams for two months huh? :D
I remember with the Cera I would go through 3 grams in 2 weeks!
The Dabbler has stretched that 3 grams to a month, so I'm pretty happy

Well they do get decent reviews but I personally love the NoGoo containers because they screw closed: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NoGoo-Nonst...340?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27d3ea5cf4

EDIT: Oh ya to answer your question :ko:, concentrates have a great shelf life they should be just fine!

Lol, that's exactly why I don't want an Omicron, persei, Cera or any other high end oil vape. I feel They hold too much product and I would go through way too much oil due to the convenience of it all. Besides that, I kind of like the ritual of loading one dab at a time... It's just fun IMO...

As to the 3 grams in two months, I do vape flowers as well. Man cannot live on concentrates alone, variety is the spice of life.

I'll look into the Nogoo containers. Now, do you store your concentrates in just the Nogoo containers or do you have to place the nogoos in a mason jar to maximize freshness. Id like to be able to keep my concentrates fresh for 6 weeks or so. Your thoughts?? Thanks

100% agree about mixing up oil and flower, they are like complements to each other!

I don't put them in anything, the threads do a great job sealing but a Mason jar might be good for like +3 months. Also I forgot, each one holds about 3 grams!

As I woke up on this glorious Saturday morning I got my dabbler out as well as my small bubbler meant for dabs. It's a 14mm joint so the dabbler does not for at all in it. Even after taking the mouth piece out. Still wanting to try it out I just held the dabbler flush to the joint and took a hit. It actually worked pretty well but I would like to improve it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Fittings? Hoses? Joints?

Oh yeah check it out:

A tiny bit of silicone tubing 3/8" ID and 1/2" OD fits right in 14mm joints (like the f bomb/pinnacle tube)
In the video I used a second tubing on top 1/2" ID and 5/8" OD to fit the 18mm joint on my tube.

Here's the Dabbler to 14mm tubing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-8-I-D-x-1-2-O-D-Silicone-Tubing-High-Temp-Hose-500F-Sold-by-the-Foot-/

This is perfect! Thank you!

That stainless looks pretty sharp. Almost regret getting the black one now...

Joe, that was one fucking kickass hit!!

I like how you pulsed the button several times during the hit. I believe you do it that way to control heat and preserve flavor. Am I right? If you held the button for the full 10 seconds the flavor would probably deteriorate and taste like burnt asshole( not that I know what burnt asshole tastes like LOL) I've had that
happen to me a couple times when I held the button for the max duration. It seems like 4 to 6 seconds is the sweet spot......

I think my new dabbler will be here today after a quick ship from VaporWarehouse.

Should I give it a quick 5 second burnoff? Or not risk it and throw my melt right on there to start?

I think you should do a short burn off to get rid of any dust particles and to make sure the heater is working right. The coil should fire up a nice orange glow....

I think it's part of the instructions to do a 10 second burn off. I could be wrong though. It's good to check if your coil works in any case. This thing isn't nearly as sensitive as something like the omicron carts.

Looking at stepping up from a sticky lips pen and wanted some suggestions from the experts.
Is this still the best pen for the money? Where is the best to get replacement elements?
I am seeing the omicron v2 for cheaper and I am sure both are better than what I got.
I want it for wax and maybe oil at a later time. This looks like the best at this price point...but is there something new or just about to come out?
And are there cleaning instructions in this thread?
TIA

Yup, bang on

I learned that from my omicron/persei days, the wick simply can't draw oil from the sides fast enough to keep it wet at full power. When the heater goes dry the temp shoots up and you get the burnt nasty taste.

The few seconds of off time not only cools the coil, but allows oil to flow through the wick to the center so if you chain a bunch of pulses you're actually using some of the surrounding/stored-up oil after you vaporize your fresh dab.

I started oil vaping with an omicron 2.5. While I still respect the company and the vape I am much more satisfied with my dabbler. The only annoyance on the dabbler is refilling it often. However, this is what makes it so great and the omicron inferior, in a way. As joe said the omicron has a nasty taste. It's true. It doesn't taste very good usually and the hits can be inconsistent or weak depending on your skill at loading and hitting it. The dabbler is easy. You open up the heater, put a bit of wax on it, close it, and hit it. After 3 big hits that will have you flying depending on your tolerance or many small hits you refill. During the first pages(I think around pg3) vitolo posted a wonderful and very helpful cleaning video. If you're lookin for replacement heaters vapor warehouse is the place to go. There is also a coupon for heaters and the dabbler supplied by them in this thread.

There is other competition. The Bholt. The cera, I suppose. Persei/omicron. G-pens. Cloud pens. I think you will find the dabbler quite satisfying though.

Have anymore questions?

Edit: the cleaning video is indeed on page 3 of this thread.

Probably can"t compare the others. There is the new Dr. Dabbler, and the Vapor Dab, which all seem like clones of each other. The others you mentioned just seem not in true same class, maybe Omi. Gpen/and Cloudz are bottom of the barrel. Persei, possibly top level(price factors in on that), but many diff options for it. VB Dabbler/Dr. Dabber/Vapor Dab(the variable volt OG set) are more or less the same. Great price on Vapor Dab carts as well. The OG bowls seem the deepest out of the 3.

Actually it's an interesting comparison IMO:

The Dabbler has VaporBros customer service, Inconel wire, a good airpath/leakproof design, and a great track record. The heater is a coil flush with the top of the heater section:

The Dr. Dabbler doesn't have a big name company behind it AFAIK, but they do have titanium wire, and that velvety anodizing. The heater being lower in the bowl means that hopefully you would be able to keep it cleaner and avoid gumming up the threads with oil/wax:
SAM_0231_zpse09444d3.jpg

The Vapor Dab is new to me, and I can't find a thread on it, so maybe you could write a review and make a new thread! It does look like a deep bowl, but I can't find anything on wire material:
IMG_20130504_213346_003.jpg

I think they all use the same battery and cone format simply because it works so well and there's no real reason to change it. The heater and overall quality is where the differences lie and only time will tell which designs are better :2c:

The thing to notice is that they're all fairly new companies. VaporBro's has years of experience and a great reputation so you can be sure they'll take care of you. And you can't discount the owners and reviews that we've already had here on FC, this is a tried and tested pen. I have no plans to sell my Dabbler anytime soon!

I think you will like the dabbler, IMHO. I do. I have tried a lot of vaporizers and the dabbler is the one I always reach for. It works well with a wide range of material from pure gold to rock hard shatter. It also works well flavor wise when switching strains. While it is fairly easily to clean, thanks Vitolo, I still have not decided how much cleaning it needs or when it needs it. I have cleaned mine twice in the last four weeks mostly because I could. I have run about 10 grams through it and it still works like new. I have been rough with it. I have poked it, prodded it, scraped it, moved it, burned it dry... and no problems. (I do not recommend being rough) The most I ever ran through an omicron cart was 4 grams. I have no complaints with the dabbler.

Still loving the Dabbler! At this point I only have one gripe. I have two mouthpieces and they both fit very loosely into the cone. In fact, the mouthpiece is so loose I often have to hold it in place to keep it from coming out from the cone. Has anyone else found that the mouthpieces don't have a Snug fit? Anyone using a non Vaporbrothers mouthpiece that fits better??

i actually dislike the mp the most. i use a cut omicron silicon "tester" mp, inserted from the inside of the top shield

Odd. I usually put a drop of coconut oil on my fingers, then rub it around the lip of edge of the mouthpiece to keep mine from getting "stuck" onto the cone. I would contact VB or Vaporwarehouse to ask them about a replacement.
But if looking for another one I think one of these may fit, either type A or B.

Agreed on funky mouthpiece, Loblaw!
