Vaporbrothers Dabbler & Eleven Pen

Does anybody have some tips with loading crumbles? I just got my first crumble. I usually have at least a slight wax consistency with my concentrates. The dabber tool I use is the highly educated ball tipped one. Which isn't very helpful with this stuff. How do I get all the fine particulates?

I actually have some crumble right now. It may sound kind of archaic, but I simply press my finger down on the crumble so it sticks to my finger, then work it into a little ball in the palm of my hand then load. Unless, of course, it is too powdery to even smooch into a ball.

@No-Wrinkle...Snarky response here. Really? No idea how to get those little flakes onto the coil. No pen knives, butter knife, matchbook covers, top of a pen caps, bamboo skewers, a shovel for ants? Nothing lying around the house could be used to transfer flakes to coil?

Nice response....Use a dabber with a scoop on the end instead of a ball tip. Skilletools "scoop dog" comes to mind or any brand that has scoop on end.

Stoner response...any damn way you can:ko:

Haha! Well I was just wondering if there was a better way than jamming a butter knife into my wax! I will probably just get a scoop tool as you recommend or maybe just see how @Chill Dude method works.

Thanks for the replies anyway :).

I have a plethora of dab tools, but my most used tool is still my pick from 7th Floor that comes with the SSV, LSV, or Da Buddah(They sell them seperately also). Cheap($2-4 I think) but does the job most times.

That said, I think Bruno has a good point that if you stay on the button too long the taste diminishes and can have somewhat of a smokey flavor, but I don't think that's combustion. Perhaps Vapor Brothers can address that concern better than I can.

I just got back from lunch with Linus from Vaporbrothers. While I did not read this thread prior to our lunch this topic came up. I asked if the Dabbler combusts or vapes. The answer was, assuming your wax/oil is clean, it will vaporize not combust. Solids might vape at first and then combust but clean oil/wax will not combust.

By solids do you mean lower shelf concentrates that still contain a lot of plant material?

I wonder if it's better to pulse the heat button during the hit to avoid getting too hot, or hold down the button continuously through your entire hit?

Glad to hear. I never had any combustion issues myself either after months of daily abuse use.
Was there a "session" involved, prior to or after this lunch? :spliff:

Hate bubble hash myself, but had a gifted piece and an old cartridge that i was cashing out soon. Figured in the name of science... didn't work well at all for me. It didn't seem to get hot enough with the pieces of bubble in there. I wasn't gonna try holding the battery button for over 10 sec for it. Little rip but nothing like with good shatter/moonrock/wax/honeycomb. It would be very messy to use bubble all the time, imo.

I beleive the dabbler is designed so that pulsing isn't neccesary. The dabbler is supposed to keep the heat of the coil in the ideal range.

Hey surfer, what's your typical Dabbler technique? I'm still trying to figure this stuff out. Do you pulse the button, or hold it down for your entire hit, and if so, how long?

Yeah, that's what I thought too. How many seconds do u typically hold the button down and have you noticed a smokey taste when you're too heavy on the button?

I believe Vapor Brothers stated that the Dabbler is temperature controlled and will not reach combustion within the max 10 second period.

I go for about 5-7 second hold time then let go and rip. Maybe a pulse or two after that while ripping it. Maybe 5 sec with waxy stuff, 7 sec with some harder moonrock or shatter. I have never had the auto turn off switch come on while using it yet either. Glad to answer any questions regarding the love of my life(The Dabbler).

I've been starting my draw maybe 1 second after pressing the button and continue inhaling while pressing the button for 4 to 6 seconds. So what you're saying is its better to let it heat for 5 seconds or so before you begin your hit?

Damn...now I gotta give your technique a try. Hang on a sec.

I think 50-50. Either way works well. May depend on type of concentrate as well, shatter, waxy, honeycmb, etc.

Ah I know the wisdom of which you seek, the technique is an ancient Buddhist secret passed down for generations!

What you need, my friend, is a sticky dabber. :D Once you get a little bit melted on the heater just touch your dabber to the resin to get it sticky, and then insert in your crumble. You will be amazed how effective this is! Then just let the heater melt the crumble off the dabber and put it in a clean spot so it's sticky for next time!

I've been starting my draw maybe 1 second after pressing the button and continue inhaling while pressing the button for 4 to 6 seconds.
This is my technique as well, you can preheat for longer but you're sacrificing taste for vapor density IMO. Just watch the heater as you hold the button to get an idea of what's happening during a hit. Mine seems to start boiling and producing vapor within a second.

Just ordered the Dabbler from VW, there's a $5 coupon several pages back that still works (not the heating element one). $85 shipped is a pretty fucking good deal I think.

Last vaporizer purchased was the Oracle, hope this fares better than that :borg:

What fitting do I need to pair the Dabbler with the Vaporbrothers Glass Hydrator Mini?

A couple of weeks ago I was visiting some new friends in Michigan and had the opportunity to try wax for the very first time. I have an obsessive personality and the flavor and hits were awesome, so I knew I had to get me some wax. After a few calls I scored, but then I was at a loss as to how to use it. My friend had an atomizer attached to his ecig mod, and I really wanted something like that. After a thorough search I could not find what I wanted, so it was off to FC.

My very first vaporizer was a Vapor Brothers original style. I still have it today, although I don't use it very much, but it still works like new. It was my only vaporizer for almost 3 years, until I found this website to help me drain my wallet.

I saw this thread because of the Vapor Brothers name, and started reading. A few problems in the beginning as to be expected, but after reading the entire thread Wednesday morning I decided that this is the wax pen for me. Late Wednesday morning I placed an order to Vapor Warehouse for a black Dabbler and an extra heating coil. This morning (Friday) I received my Dabbler via USPS. Fucking excellent service!

I get home and rip open the package and inside the packaging is a sticky note saying the battery has already been charged and it is ready to use :o. So my thought is that they knew there were a few battery issues, so they took the time to test the battery to be sure it would charge properly. Bravo! I know they test the heating elements, so just another example of wanting to make their customer happy.

I did the 10 second dust burn off as suggested and made sure everything was working properly. I have never done this wax thing before, but after Vitos helpful hints (Thank you so very much for your input sir!) I had a small dab of wax in the coil like a pro. My very first hit was so thick and delicious that I had to cough loudly in appreciation. Or maybe hack is more the word. Unbelievable! My first experience with wax was a real eye opener, so I decided that for now, one hit would be sufficient.

That was a smart move on my part, as I am having a very difficult time typing. And from typing random thoughts. I absolutely LOVE the case that it comes in, very snazzy and easy to carry. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't take it apart and store it rather than take a chance of breaking it in their pocket. And it was about the size I figured it would be, about the size of a 1100 mah ecig battery.

I know it is only one hit, but I get the feeling it will be the best $90 I have spent on a vaporizer. Give me a couple more days and I will get back and let you know more of my thoughts.

Thank you Vapor Brothers, I cannot tell you how stoked I am!

I think at first, youll get instant results when loading then pressing the buttton. The more and more you use and load it though, the longer it ends up taking. At least thats my experience.

With my used coil i have to hold button for about 4-5 seconds then hit it. When i cleaned it the one time, it went back to working instantly but that didnt last long
