The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Salutations SamirFuzzyWuzzy,

So, if i got this idea figured out correctly then that would mean a Cyclone's #1 (red) and #2 (green) areas should become fused only to shrink into nothiness or so, taking away the complex (...) middle structure of a typical Cyclone bowl:

Looking at that piece of glass i can't but think it might prove interresting to experiment with halogen bulbs in this area, in any case!... The vaporizer would work as a pre-heater while radiated heat from the halogen element might provide new stimulating features, etc.

:peace:

samirfuzzywuzzy, And It did!!! What an amazing combination and change in performance with F/F adapter and SSV Wand (regular, not fatty wand, as the regular wand would hold alot of material if desired).

On Tweak's advice and TNK's idea, used the SSV Wand in conjunction with an elbow screen. Whip tubing in the SSV Wand at approx the same length as the EQ whip. First thing I noticed = Where did the drag go? :o Seriously, there was barely any drag in relation to the stock EQ whip! What a nice change that made! Second thing I noticed was getting blazed and unable to continue a normal length session. Seems to be able to more effeciently extract vapor from the product with about 1/2 the draws normally required when using an EQ elbow.

Amazingly, I thought I was happy with just the improvements from the use of the F/F adapter. This is yet another variation on the glass used with the EQ that has yielded another VERY nice set of results. From my experience, the F/F and SSV Wand combo would make a great hit and run session for one, or packing the wand a bit more, a nice quick shared session.

So, with the pieces I have to mix & match, I have the following configurations and experience:
- Stock Elbow and Cyclone: standard EQ performance
- Stock Elbow and "DDave F/F adapter" used in Cyclone bowl mode  = less product used, more flavor, greater number of flavored draws.
- Stock Elbow and "DDave F/F adapter" used in Elbow Pack mode = increased elbow pack performance significantly, more vapor.
- SSV Wand and "DDave F/F adapter" = Much greater vapor, greater extraction from each draw. LESS DRAG! I believe this will be method of choice now!
- SSV Wand and stock Cyclone Bowl = TBD (to be determined, not tested yet).

I remain amazed at the versatility of the unit and the variations in performance dependent on the glass pieces used. I feel like I have 4 different units that can be brought out dependent on the type of session desired (ex. quick and powerful, slow and flavorfull, highly sedating or boosting energy).

Have an awesome weekend everyone!
Lots of great info! Which of the setups works best for boosting energy?

Does the EQ tubing work with the SSV Wand? Or do you need a larger diameter to connect a whip to the SSV Wand?

All SSV wands are different, so YMMV. If you are using EQ size Silicone tubing you can simply role the end up and it fits nicely into the SSV wand.

If you are using stock EQ tubing, I'd recommend just getting the SSV Wand kit (SSV wand, tubing, and glass mouthpiece) as the SSV tubing is wider and more flexible and worth the extra $$.

IMO, the only purpose I see of the middle lip is to hold the screen in place.

By shrinking the Cyclone's size and opening the center, you get much closer to the heater and a more efficient draw.

Hey guys, well ive had the extreme q for a good while now, and idk if this has been brought up before, but i have been thinking, is there any kind of glass water adapter you can put on top the extreme q and make it like a bong...without any hoses or tubes, kind of like the xhale cloud, where you can just sit it on top of your extreme q and just rip it like bong!! that would be extremely awesome haha sooo if there are any glass blowers out there that can make that happen im willing to buy a piece

Hello FC! I am about to get my first plug-in vape, and I am sure it was a great decision :-)

One thing is bothering me though. Some people say the bag/baloon stinks after a couple of uses. Is this true? How do you deal with it? Buy new bags every couple of days?

I was thinking maybe to reclaim the bags. What are they made from? Are they ISO compatible?
If not, are any bags on the market iso compatible? I heard volcano bags make a great replacement for EQ's.

So I have been cutting up beer cozies to make a heat shield for the top of my EQ. the one I am testing now makes a huge difference especially in a room where the ac or fan is blowing close to the EQ. Reduces heat up times a little as well. Heat retention is great since you can feel the inside of the beer cozie gets very warm.

Yes, the bags will start to smell and affect the taste after 3-4 uses. I dealt with it by not using the bags. :D

Volcano bags will work, and so will those turkey roasting bags you can buy at your local supermarket. I don't see why you couldn't put some ISO in a bag to reclaim from it, but I am willing to bet that the bag will taste really nasty after you've done that.

have you ever soaked a plastic wand in iso? went in clear and did it come out cloudy?? iso does something to the plastics. so thats why your better replacing than trying to clean them.

Hi Nesta, The energy boost seems to come from the temperature of the vaping session and depends a bit on the glass used. In the original cyclone bowl, I had energy boosting sessions at approx 170-175C. With the F/F adapter and SSV wand, same at approx 160-165C, due to higher heat and better extraction.

Great part about a session like the above, is you can vape for energy then store your material. This material can be vaped again, at higher temps (maybe up to 200C) for a different effect... sedative/pain relief. And don't throw away your material just yet. The material that remains from the higher temp session can then be used in baking. (See Firecracker recipes and note that you've already activated the THC in your product, so I find Firecrackers backed at 250F using said product really works out well!)

Regarding EQ tubing with SSV Wand, it does fit, but as Tweak recommended , better tubing will really make for a better overall experience while using the EQ.

IMO "stink" is probably a bit to strong a word, to me the smell is more like just stale weed. I make sure after a session that the bag is entirely empty and then I fold it; doesn't give off a smell that way. If your material is only mids, the taste isn't good in the first place so it may not be a big deal. However, I won't use quality herb in a bag; even if it is a fresh bag the taste will begin to be stale before you finish (unless you hurry it down).

The most inexpensive and just as functional option IME is the Reynold's turkey roast bags. They are more square than the vape bags so it takes a bit of extra effort to attach the glass piece (hint: Use a twist-tie instead of the second o-ring), but once you have that down they work well.

I had good luck using grocery store produce rubber bands because those tiny black rings made no sense to me...works well if you give up like I did. :)

I am loving the bags.

What I found strange though is when I recieved this vape a few years ago it had one bag assembled and ready to go. that bag material seemed a bit rigid and crinkly, and i saw they packed a second bag and fill tube. what i did not notice was the second was of a different material to the assembled one. But I did get the second bag ready to use with the original black o-rings it came with.

After a weekend at the Gorge, I'm really liking the replacement for the cyclone. Loaded up a gram of Grapestomper OG and it lasted for 10+ bags and had people sipping the whip for hours. I don't think it actually ever quit hitting - we just got tired of it and I cleaned it out to pack up and out (and not stink up the RV/other bags). Wow...

Fired up my second bag for the first time and agree.. it was slightly different, but not entirely like a different bag. However, after this weekend, they need to be replaced in any case ;)

Nice find! Glad to see these are still available! (I also see question posed to the seller regarding a ledge to accomodate a screen. Was that you? )

Just got this one in the mail and i can confirm these work and are 99.9 percent identical to my first ddave adapter and works great!!!!

Thanks for verifying the adapter, samirfuzzywuzzy!

And glad to hear these are still working well for you! Same here (and used in conjunction with the SSV Wand.... works a dream!) :smug:

the wand comes friday!!! but in the mean time ill show you my wind deflecting, thermal insulating, high tech, totally military spec, nasa grade "heat shield" (aka cheap beer coozie).

Nice heat shield!

Hmmm, odd though... I dont recall the wife telling me she'd posed for the logo on any beer coozies??? :nope: Must have happened before we were married! LOL :lmao:

Can't wait to hear how you like the SSV Wand on Friday!!!!

Ok so I got the SSV wand and hose in today but im running into a problem..The hose is kinking in the wand whenever I use it and the only way for that not to happen is to hold the hose up with my other hand while I take a hit. I've tried putting the hose in deeper and less in the wand but either way it always kinks unless I hold it at a certain angle.. I'm sure there is a completely obvious solution to this and I'm just being dumb but any help is appreciated!

Yeah I am directly drawing from the whip, still pretty new to this so no glass yet. I could set it lower to the ground but the problem is there is nowhere to put the hose and its a hassle to repack it but luckily I found another solution :)

I took my sisters hair clip and put it where the hose kinks and surprisingly its able to hold the hose up.. It'll work for now until I find a more attractive option lol.

Thank you for the suggestion though, I probably would have never started thinking of ideas without the kickstart :D I haven't tried it with the new hose yet but even with the SSV wand and the stock hose it makes a huge difference.. Easier to draw, bigger elbow packs and more vapor, well worth the money IMO.. Hopefully the adapter will come in tomorrow!

I know it sounds weird but did you wet the hose before yer shoved it up the business end of the wand?

If your using 7th floor silicone tubing (which IMO is the tops) than it expands and contracts a bit more then we're used to with much stiffer gauge tubing. I am using the EAXCT same tubing with a DBV wand along with my viVape and the kink happened to me too.

Just like my high school girlfriend said, "lube that shit up sir"

LOL no I didn't try that.. I bought it from Theotherside on ebay, was listed as a SSV/DBV replacement hose so I'm not sure if that is the same one. I'm gonna go try that as soon as I get a chance I'll see if it works, thanks!

Last night I had my first session with the newest Arizer Q... It is amazing. It costs half of the minimum salary in my country but it works wonders. I had the most psychedelic experience since when I started toking back in the middle school. The baloon is delicious and amazingly potent, the whip is very handy - I'm waiting for the silicone replacement though. The vape is even more efficient than my MFLB. With like one bowl I got 6 people ridiculously high. Oh, and the improvements in v5? The black finish is finaly pretty, the fan is really silent, and it takes only about 90 seconds to reach 200C.

One thing is bothering me:
how to keep the screen inside the cyclon bowl? It keeps on "jumping" out. Should I cut it to make it fit better, or force it?
