Discontinued VRIPtech Heating Wand

How much better is the heat wand over the heat gun? I'm so used to air assist...will I miss anything with the wand?

vapormonkey - I grew up with a Makita then moving onto the digital Steinel then finally the heat wand. Honestly, at first, I preferred the heat gun but after going over to Mark's and repeatedly using the heat wand, I slowly began to gravitate towards wand. I like how the fan assist keeps your material warm but it is hard to beat an all glass vapor path. The other thing I didn't like about the heat gun is that everyone in my house would know when I turned on the heat gun because the lights would flicker and all that jazz. I beleive the wand also makes a tighter seal than the heatgun so you get slightly higher vapor to air ratio.

(I know Mark has been looking at a pretty trick ceramic housing option)

You can't just say something like that without elaborating. :)

Do you mean the handle? When you say ceramic do you mean a handmade clay pottery type or alumina ceramic?

Thanks for the reply shadow, I thought it may be a bit iffy with the glass being in contact at the top. It's worked fine so far but I'll have a play with it as you've suggested and go from there. I was curious about the screws from the element not being there, but as you explain it it does make sense to let the individualism of the glass covers define the element position. Goddamn it you answered another question before I asked it! :) I'll also be replacing the element and glass from a 2.0 today, should be fun. :)

Have sent through the details on my next order to mark and your good self. Keep up the good work guys.

Oooooh ceramic cover? Now that would be funky. You could have them coloured!

I love Sundays. Football and VHW. I forgot about the time change, and i simply now have an extra hour to get vripped up. Already had one bowl, think another about now would be stellar.

Isn't that time change thing stupid? Twice a year we upset ou r 24 hr rhythm's for nothing. The older I get the dumber it seems. Getting back to acheiving "full milk, blue tint".

I just pulled the trigger on a VHW direct and picked up some fresh stainless screens and the Vrip Gong diffuser too boot thanks to the Stonemonkey's recommendations. I'm a longtime Vrip customer.

I hope the addition of the diffuser and heat wand will turn me into the milkmonkey :brow: Full milk, blue tint!

I see the newer version VHW's come with a metal coil around the element so that the element doesn't fuse to the glass (from what I've read) Would it also be safe to say that if the metal coil was wrapped around the element and also touching the glass, then it would also help transfer the heat to the glass?

Got my 3.0 last week and gave it a good go with some mates on Sunday - damn it's good to be back using the VWT with ice and water :) Kicks arse compared to the Steinel, really like the feel of it. Thumbs up from me, I don't expect the Digit will ever get used again now - VHW and iolite all the way (d'oh! so many $ over so many years lol)

Ever came across or heard of herb that smelled and vaped like "Vicks Vapor Rub" with a strong eucalyptus smell? I let loose some genetics in Nimbin back in 1999-2000 "Nimbin Cup". Marc Emery sent certain seed of mine to the nimbin cup where it had been entered for competition and grown by the Nimbin cup promoters. Made sure Oz got juiced.

I just received my V3.0 wand on Friday and used it all weekend and love it, USPS took 21 days to get hear but it was not marks fault, Just wanted to clear that up i live in Mexico and mark is nice to send me one. I used the V2.0 for one year and i think it was the best vape for taste and to use with glass. The V3.0 is a very nice improvement in the glass wand end and how mark put the heating element in glass too. The thing can be a Monster Vaper and you can realy load that bowl up or get a small toke. I all ready droped it on my table from all most one foot and it did not break, I had a small heart attack. Sorry no vidieo.

^I'm thinking of using mine by mounting it upside down in stand so I could use it sort of like the aromed. Take a hit and release the wand and not have to be concerned about finding the cup or breaking it or burning myself. Another option are these huge ass glass holding cups I saw at Walmart for $5. They're about 8 inches or more in diameter and would be easy set the wand in after taking a Vrip.

I think he is talking about his Steinel digital heatgun

Yeah I've got both a makita heatgun and vcb and heatwand and vcbs and the heatwand pwns the gun. The gun is nice if you need a good long blow your brains out with oxygen deprivation style hit, but the wand is a much smoother and more of a "take your time and enjoy the moment" style hit.

I love em both though. I'm spreading the word over here in WA about you guys, getting lots of interest from those who appreciate a good vape.

biojuggernaut, I noticed you have a Vapro & VHW by your signature. How do they compare to each other?
I imagine the VHW provides thicker hits, am I right?

Nah the Volcano Digit is what I was referring to - I "upgraded" from the old VWT + Steinel years ago, and while I really do love it (temperature control in particular), I always loved water and ice filtered vapor far more.

Both wands are very similar to each other. The vapro requires much more work then what the VHW yeilding better effeicentcy yet less "milky" hits.

You realize nothing is stopping you from using water and ice filtration with your volcano, yes? I used to do this with it as well but have now skipped out on the ice and just use cold water. I just take my water pipe and stick the bag straight onto the top of the downstem and it draws just fine. Really makes for a smoother experience.

Thanks for the replies Shadow! I've just sent an email in regards to my wands!! It appears that I need a new surge protector too, as I was never aware of getting one that features "surge suppression" as being necessary. I will testify to the fact that my longest lasting wand was one that was left plugged in most of the time and turned on low, then turned up when needed. It was a 2.0 used daily for a LONG time and it lasted like 9 months plugged in constantly.

Good god I've been waking up half stoned every day this week from the previous nights vripping. Such a wonderful feeling I haven't had in a great many years. :)

Some of the VCB and VCBS parts seem to be a little tight around the grommet. Any advice on making the parts slot together a bit smoother?

^lick the parts where rubber meets glass

This or take your index finger scraping any morning oil/residue in between nose and face applying it generously to the rubber bumper.

Yep that's what the Valloon in my sig is for :D To be honest it's a pain in the arse, the bag is more unwieldy than a heat gun and the flavour isn't as "fresh" by the time you've inflated a bag. Plus my dosage is pretty tiny, so a full bag is usually more than I need (and small bags are still a pain). I ended up using the iolite far more than my Digit, indoors and out, but now I think the VHW does everything I want at home and I'll save the iolite for travelling.
