I don't know about EFEST '350s but i have had several '650s by EFEST for a while now and they seem to be performing admirably. Haven't done any crazy MM tests with them though.
hmm not sure if ive been clear. I think youre talking about an adapter that would sit flush INSIDE the persei threads?
I want to make an adapter with a kinda disk around it so its even with the outside tube diameter so it looks good and so i can really sock down some of my bigger tanks against it, and/or i want to make an adapter with extended 601 threads that will also thread through an ego well. Please brace yourself for atrocious paint diagrams.

Spent all day trying to get the herc sorted out through PMs...got home, signed up for skype and got the issue sorted out in about an hour! What other company would spend all day and night working to help get the issue sorted out. Seriously, started PMs around 2:30pm and ended the skype session around 1:30 am. and the best news is I dont have to send anything back!

Okay G, so as per what we discussed, I tried the herc out again today. I completely disassembled the unit, cleaned everything but the upper core chamber/rod/oil coil, and reassembled as per your very precise instruction yesterday.
I then put in the freshly charged stock Persei batteries, and loaded up another .25g of that C02 honey oil. This actually brought the oil level up to the top of the coil. Without attaching the heat shield I did another 8-10 second pull, making sure to inhale before I pressed the button, as well as after. I then pulled through the Herc for about 20 seconds to make sure stuff cooled down. After 10 minutes of letting it sit, I opened her up againt, and this is what I saw:

So at this point, I guess all I can do is wait for those new EFEST batteries I ordered to show up sometime next week?
Also, IDK if this is normal, but I noticed that the rod gets pushed into the upper core a bit after everything is screwed together. That small sliver of metal on the ceramic rod always ends up flush instead of sticking out by a few hair widths. I think I remember Blazing saying that was normal, but I wanted to be sure this wasn't part of the issue.
edit: Sigh... this is my luck. After soaking everything in iso to reclaim for when I get the new batteries, the little white PTFE insulator hat (retainer?) slipped out of my fingers and down the sink drain.
Is there a way to order just that one part?

I'm sure we can get you a ptfe insulator no problem. Let me get back to work in Tuesday and we can see what we can do.

Wow this thread added 3 pages since Ive been on so it took me a while to catch up.
THC - i dont have aw 18650 but I do have an efest 18650 2200mah. I tried the blue rod with the efest and still had trouble getting any vapor. Ive just used the white rod with 2 aw 18350s and feather the button and it works great (sometimes i like to take a walk on the dark side). Im just wondering if the blue rod doesnt get hot enough? I haven't tried the blue @ 7.4v because it will probably cause damage.
I dont have a screen to put inside, where do you get these? Is there a certain one that fits well in the herc's chamber? Im going to try cutting down a oil coil screen but with no oil in it and try with blue rod & flowers tonight.
Ive also had a couple light leaks, but solved it by 1) once u get herc up to heat, the best hit comes right after u get off the button 2) feather button and pull cool air in between 3) store on its side when resting right after a session
I love my Hercules by the way. I think on par with TI nail setups. Really glad I chose UP tech and W9 as my first company to venture in the vape world with.

Sorry it took me a while to reply, the world turns.. thanks for all the insight. I started putting the aaf washer in the mouthpiece and as I used it and loaded it more, definitely close to 1g total. it started sticking to the top chamber tightly while cool. I did play with it while it was warm and it is moving freely. I tried backing up the nut in the mouthpiece a few turns but no change. Strange because I will take long slow draws and fast Sherlock puffs. Every once in a while I get a good Sherlock puff full of vapor then gone the next.. not sure if that means the seal is not staying tight. I have tried my stock 18650 and the blue rod and got mild vapor from packing flower around the rod. I have also watched the white rod heat with no coil and it is red in 10-15 seconds. For what it's worth I have ordered a few sets of aw imr 18350's. Won't be here till this week some time though, so I can't rule that out just yet though. I have charged the batteries fully 3 times and luckily have had no leaks. I havent checked since I stuffed the coil with more oil to make sure that wasn't the issue. Will update if I leaked. Thanks g and blazing og and everyone else. I love the little vapor I get, but it's just not enough.. TIA

I need to get a seat on that train too. Going back to the 1.5ohm carts I ordered before the Hercules arrived and was noticing how much more vapor I was getting even when my Hercules wasn't leaking all over. I have confidence in G and THC Sci tho! Amazing customer service thus far.Hopefully you get to experience the HERCULES SR 71 in all of it's glory!

saw everybody talking about how they hit the herc. I usually press the button for 3 secs without inhaling to warm it up and then for another 5 secs to take my hit and i keep inhaling with the button unpressed for 5-10 seconds after each hit to cool it down and keep my oil from melting down; not that ive ever had that happen with the new airflow washer, but i still do it to avoid finding out what happens if i dont.
After warm up, i can hit the herc instantaneously and i usually just take a few 5sec hits per session and get as much vapor per hit as i would from a cart, except that this vapor tastes alot better. Im pretty conservative with my wax and with the herc ive found that i actually can be and still get properly medicated.
The day i got my airflow washer which was about the same time everyone else did - 1-2 weeks ago - i cut one of my already buffered oil coils in half so that i could try the herb and oil combination. before throwing in the herb i went ahead and vaped just my oil a bit until i hit the bufferzone of the half coil which was 1.1g, so that i could keep track of how much vaporable oil i have by weighing. I then put in 0.2g of oil in for a total coil weight of 1.3g along with some herb on top seperated by a screen. That was 1-2 weeks ago. Earlier today i took the coil out and it weighed at 1.2g. Now, i take about 20-25 5sec hits per day and i usually french inhale so i know im still getting as much vapor per hit as i was when i first loaded it. So thats somewhere around 200 5sec hits for my first 0.1g. im pretty baffled, cause i get a lot higher off hitting the herc than i do the carts. My herb is still green too. It might be another week before the herc starts vaping that. Ill let you guys know once ive hit the herb, but damn the herc can be pretty economical, as far as i can tell. What do you guys think? Am i being too conservative?

Is there a reference wiki or post somewhere that classifies the different types of threads and what devices are what thread type for crosscompabitility? Also, are there adapters for most of these that can also be purchased once but able to use wth persei or any other compatible thread, like allowing the persei to use someone else's 610 or 710 tank/cart if you have an adapter?
I was also wondering if there is a list somewhere of the best tanks/carts that might work well with persei and which definitely to not even try for wax? My main issue is I would like to be able to use some different clear tanks/carts, like the globe tank and the vhit for quick dab aleratives rather than a torch or 2nd device.
I'm also interested in a dry herb alternative and am wondering how the persei works compared to a device such as an Arizer solo. Is the bender and other addons really any better than a solo? Seems like the bender looks great in videos, but is it worth spending that much to turn a persei to a solo (no disrespect intended)? For wax, I love the cartridges and the "load once, hit many" usability and convenience. For dry herb I don't quite see what is unique and an advantage over the solo for example. If it hits better somehow, then I would like to hear from those that could explain and compare if it isn't too much to ask.
As there has been questionable satisfaction with the Herc for dry herb for me and many others, I would also like to know if there are any other 3rd party dry herb options for tanks that could work with the persei.
Lastly, I know it's labor day weekend, but I'm wondering what the usual response time is when a customer sends an email for a warranty repair/problem ticket. I sent this in on the 29th, so not many business days but I figured since these guys work 24/7 anyway i was to see a reply by now. I was just wondering what is a typical wait for a response?

hey so i collected some reclaim yesterday off my nibbler, bong, and old carts. Came out with about a gram of reclaim. i threw some bud in it to help me scrape it off. how would you guys go about loading this into the herc? around the rod or up above?
its a mixture of more bud than oil...
i believe they resemble your pollen pellets except i havent compressed the mixture?

I am hoping someone may be able to help me out, i have been trying to get in touch with w9 but am not getting through....i got replacement parts for my persei today, this one says persei under the power button...when i put batteries in it and screw one of the tops on it lights up as it is getting screwed on and goes out when completelybon. Is this normal?
Now I do not know how to use this me, my old one was just push the button and you were ready to go...with this one the blue light flashes twice and goes out, with fully charged batteries 3.7, 7.4 does the same with both and with both single and double top, same story.
Anybody know what I am doing wrong, can you help me out? I really want to get it working!

I'm sorry you're having troubles, but it's our Labor Day Holiday here today. Nobody's home there. They'll be back on station in 18 hours or so.
Not sure what to say about your problem, except to ask is the battery plate adjusted correctly? I've had similar problems when there wasn't enough pressure on the stack. FWIW my new style top often flashes 3 times when contact is broken (like when I set it down harder than normal. 3 flashes, not 2 and definitely related to shock.
Hopefully the Pros will be back on line tomorrow, until then you might get lucky if G or BOG wonder by....

There is some hope as G rather generously offered to drive down to San Diego and get me sorted out sometime this week. Hopefully I can scrounge up some more wax from somewhere so we can actually test the thing while he's here. I'm still pretty pissed I drove up to LA, was told the Herc I picked up will work, and then it didn't. And then it wastes my wax.
So now my questions:

I think it got fried trying to use the SR71 that is why I just got a replacement for my old one...i re tried the batteries and got the double top to work but the single only flashes. I put the Hercules on it and tried the power and it smoked I thought from the bottom of the Herc, like when a cart is clogged but it was way too fast... That was the first ever try with the new one, then i tried a cart and it only flashes no power since then so I am afraid I just burned a brand new top with my SR71....
I would get he flashes if i screwed my herc on too tight.

That's almost exactly what happened to me, only, without a cartridge my top did not blink but shined constantly when pressed. Then adding the Hercules I got blinking. Then after another try, smoke from the top itself.
You should check your batteries and spring, and probably not use the batteries that were in use when your top fried. The batteries may be unstable or a short might cause them to... idk, don't these things explode if handeled incorrectly?
Interesting to note that you and I both have the updated Persei-logo tops and this still happened. I'm hoping for a fix real soon. As of now this venture is just $300 down the drain for me.
