Hi all first post great forum.

I just read the first 7 pages and I have to know before reading the next 1500+ posts, will this vape work on the UK 240v system? or is it only compatible for 120v US type electrics. thanks

check their website they have both versions so you should opt for the 230v version.

I just bought a brand new double perc Roor and need a vape to connect to it. I'm really thinking that the heat wand is the way to go. I'm looking at the website and don't quite understand what I would need to get going. Do I just need the wand or do I need to get the Vaporization Chamber Bowl Shorty w/18.8mm ground joint "GonG" lower bowl stem as well?

How bout you go make a new thread in the general forum or ask fc. Then post all your failures of trying to build your own wand. Like durden said before, it may be possible but it's not going to be easy. I'm betting after you go through multiple irons you'll be close to the 180$ mark. If you can do it cheaper more power to you but I'm betting it's not going to be easy. :2c:

Still not an all glass vapor path. The element is in the airpath which makes it just like a ssv. I had no doubt thst a hakko/ssv one could be made for under the price but theyre two completly dofferent designs. Ive tried both and i can garuntee you there is a taste difference and i personaly dont like how concentrated the ssv heater cover is. It requires too much stirring and doesnt cook nearly as even as the VHW. So I'm still waiting for someone to prove me wrong... :uhoh:

oh i see... my bad

so basically all one would need to do is get a heater cover that enclosed the element in glass and then it would meet the criteria?

and i cant believe that vrip tech is selling that heater cover for $100... markup much?

The heater cover is that price for much the same reason high end glass is priced so high, you just can't get around labor charges. The price of the glass itself is inconsequential, the rest is based on the cost of hiring skilled glass blowers. Feel free to show the VHW heater cover to any glass blower and when you see their reactions, you might be able to better appreciate the worksman/craftsmenship that went into it.

The 5 inner marias is one of the key factors for why the VHW retains heat better than pretty much the rest of the "heavy hitter" vapes. It solves the key problem that the Herborizer, DBV, SSV, etc etc which is thinner vapor which stronger rips. Admittedly, not everyone like to hit their vapes super hard so it could be a moot point for some people, but for those that don't like to "train" vapornewbs on how to properly hit their direct draw vape, the VHW lessens the learning curve.

The maker of the Hot Glass Vape, the precursor to the VHW, is making his heater covers with GonG connector for $200 a piece and it wont include the marias, just a straight glass cover.

VHW Version Three Help!!

Hey guys just got my vrip heat wand in. Im not getting ANYYY vapor no matter how long I leave the heating element on the glass. Its their newest model and there is a silicon fitting at the end that I removed figuring it was for package purposes. Obv that peice is needed, correct?

* Also if someone could reiderate the process they go through when using the wand... i must be missing something.

These kind of questions are best left for the manufacturer. If it is not getting hot it is clearly a technical issue with the element or electronics and you would need to contact Vriptech anyways to get it fixed. There is also a VHW thread for tips.

You would think but the same thing happened to my friend, he is now on his third one and it seems to be holding up so far.

stinkmeaner,
my herb is a little moist, just dank though, you think that could be the root of the problem. Ill try to get my next bowl to be much more finely ground but I as of right now I still get no visual vapor and only slight taste. Should it be a completely tight seal almost to the point it vacum seals with my mouth?

biojuggernaut,
 the way it is intended to be used. Im speaking purely about the no air flowing past the silicon so my bong just ends up sticking to my face and no vapr whatso ever. Honestly It has to be a broke unit Ive never had a vaporizer yeild such poor results.

p.s. thanks mod for the move!

This is disappointing for me. I have wanted to buy a VHW for a long long time, but the breakdown reports just never seem to end, then the announcement of v3.0 and I thought great maybe now the reliability issues have been fixed.

Just wishful hoping I guess, sighh

heres my question, does your wand get hot to the touch? And are you loading your bowl with enough ( to the top yields best results)? Last there are two knobs inside the handle, VT1 VT2, go here and figure out if yours is set up right, the higher you turn it the hotter the wand gets. Hope that helps....

Edit: My stoned arse forgot the link

Yeah the wand does get hot to the touch, ive stayed loading the bowls pretty hefty yet still no results except a tiny vapor exhale once. I dont know if I want to go digging around into the circuit board... but I will if I have the means :uhoh:

&& more with the automated emails, damn I just can't win today

biojuggernaut,
hi bio are you using the Vrip two part bowl? You will need that silicone ring in place to make a good seal if you are. Is the dial on the wand turned all the way up? If you replace the silicone give it a good stretch before u replace it. Good luck

yeah is the two part with the 14mm adapter. Yeah I was using the unit on full temperature.

After adjusting the vt1 I see no difference in performance of the vaporizer, still no active ingredidents being extracted from my herb. Just for shits and giggles I set it the whole way and and even tried use a much smaller dry pipe and still no vapor. Biggest investment loss in awhile for me :2c:

Hi again all, just making a post here in the hope that someone from Vrip will see it, have sent them a rather large sum of money for a group order, got a USPS shipping con-note but it hasn't been updated past "we have received electronic lodgement of this item on 14/10/10" and then nothing. Almost like it wasn't sent out at all, merely lodged within the USPS system as being expected for pickup soon. Sent off a couple of emails, first to Mark two days ago, then to Shadow today. If anyone knows Mark or Shadow in a personal capacity it would be great if they could poke them and let them know that some of my (their) customers are getting a bit concerned about the lack of updates to the shipping.

I hope I'm just being a nervous nelly and it's all going to rock up on my doorstep tomorrow. But as I've been trying to get this group order done for near on 4 months now some of my customers are closing in on the point where concern overwhelms goodwill. I'm a fairly breezy guy, you have to be in my industry, but when you send someone lots of $ and then hear nothing it doesn't do wonders for your confidence. :/

Thanks for reading, and with any luck someone will pipe up and say "Hey this is normal, don't fret it will all come very soon."
