Discontinued The Sublimator

Few notes I want to point out when talking to Enrico.

My method of twisting to tighten and loosen does not void your warranty (PlantVape's statement about void warranty with my method). Your Teflon will expose the c clip after usage.

If your Teflon piece is sliding down, turn on the sublimator until its very hot with the atomizer, then push it into position

Collecting the golden goodness :D

***Mine's been on for most of the time since I got it in June, still showing 60watts at full power. Which models have started to drop? Are they the ones with timers too? I'm not at all arguing that it might not be the best method, but I just wanted to chime in that mine's running strong and steady.

mine was on constantly, no timer

Those who have noticed lower overall performance; is it possible it's merely variation in the current running through your home?

I find that the energy meter can vary as much as five watts without one fiddling with the dial at all.

When my unit arrived it was pulling 63 watts max. After a month is use it is pulling about 54 watts max. Almost a 10 watt difference. Its a timer model and have not left it on for excessive time. We will see what happens.

So has anyone tried the UFO? I like the idea of a $220 sublimator but only it it offers the same performance...

They say you put the atomizer directly in coals or a campfire, that means you get ash and char all over it and doesn't it go directly in the bowl? I can't see how it would taste pure...

I honestly can't see how you could get consistent results because I'm pretty certain that unless you leave it to cool, you're likely to combust - but how are you to know when the temperature is at what has proven to be an incredibly volatile sweet spot even on the electronically powered version?

I have had combustion at the wattage that I use every day on account of random atmospheric changes or a change in airflow - so I just can't imagine there being reliability with regards to vapour production and potency.

Just my two cents.

believe that once the mass is heated you somewhat let it cool/ heat the atomizer with the mass and you "carefully" use a torch on the stem that sticks out of the mass and that's how to regulate the heat somewhat

Just did three flower packs back to back'then a dab of sublimate like Al the Dragon. Highly recommend it.

Right, and make sure you have your laser thermometer handy, very caveman :science:

I'm thinking shisha coals in a small cast-iron frying pan on a trivet, regulate the temp by the amount of coals, more convenient than a campfire. But yeah a torch too, tres convenient!

A campfire would work for sure, so would a stovetop for that matter.

I am really having a hard time using anything else. I love the way this thing punches me in the head...just awesome.

Really hope those reclaimers come out soon...would make catching all this goodness much easier...

I'm putting cotton below the downstem and then vaping that in a portable for nightcaps.

how long does it need to be at rest in between timer shutoff sessions. thanks!

It does not need to rest at all, the timer is simply there to monitor your usage of the machine, it turns off if you don't sublimate. It's ment to hit you, then turn off. The timer is one of the best companions to have.

TIP: do not try to pull off atomizer from glass on glass bong when heated. If you pull, the great suction it has will damage the Teflon piece making it slide down and loose.

Does anyone know of a place that sells or way to rig up a top with a hose for your own tube? I would like to try it. It looks like it would be nice, seeing it in all the videos with the limited edition setup.

I think Tweek used a large pill bottle or something to plug the top of the tube. I want to try something like that as well.
