Discontinued Inhalater XP

Did you have Q1 or Q2 to compare to, or is this your first? Hope its running well

talking about this one like being the 3rd generation i feel a bit weird cause i know i've got 1 unit + had it replaced 2 times cause it broke so the next generation would be the 4th...i think everyone is talking about 3 because the very first generation were all dead in less than 20 days...so its like the company is admiting we were "beta" testers without even knowing it and that is kind of annoying...

Yeah they are treating me like I never paid for this device or something.

New customers gettn units and the broken old customer is tossed on the shelf.. isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

I sent a pm yesterday morning..no answer..but they have time to answer posts?.. :suspicious:

Lots of people have perfectly working Inhalaters and enjoy it everyday. None of us are beta or we are all beta. I can't say.

Production departement and warranty/customer service are seperate.

After deciding not to get an Ascent after all, I snuck back into this thread to see if maybe this was a viable option now.

Unfortunately, this doesn't make me want to become a customer. :(

That may not, but the reviews of working XP's are simply amazing. Maybe this post will help lighten the mood a little:

just packed a cap 1/2 way. turned it to 2.5 and let it simmer for about 40 secs after the light went solid... im getting rips like from an ecig. straight plumes of vapor. i feel extremely lucky that my XP has lasted this long, but everyday the thought crosses my mind that it may fail. when they finally get this shit all dialed in it will be almost perfect.

so the generation that came out last was the 4th and not the 3rd...i think i know how to count...

i have a not perfectly but working unit and i can say that indeed when u get one unit working on your hands its the only way to go...i am so pleased with the xp performance and vapor production that even with all the problems wtc i would still suggest it to everyone...or at least i would suggest that when the xp gets to a point that all units work flawlessly its the portable that i would chose for sure and i would chose it a second time as well...about the customer support and warranty i got to admit that in the begining it was really bad...but the last time i contacted them Fred answered and was really helpfull and ready to solve my problems...i still see a lot potential in this vape and i will keep following it and i am sure that all customers will be satisfied in the end...especially the early adopters,at least for me they made it clear that as an early adopter they will make sure i will be fully satisfied (always speaking in a logical concept).

I've had 3 XPs:
  • first generation (received in february) -- battery connectivity issue, unit stopped turning on (common for this generation)
  • second generation (received in march) -- usb port issue (common for this generation)
  • third generation (received in july) -- been using regularly for about a month now with absolutely no issue. It does have that USB port mod but I find it more funny than ugly.
In other words, I think they've got their shit dialed as of the 3rd gen. I don't see any reports of issues here on 3rd gens.

As I understand the main thing re: 4th gen (other than fixing the USB port) is calibration. For me, my first gen was calibrated just right, my 2nd gen was calibrated too high, and my third gen is calibrated too low, but the range is large enough in all cases to have never been a problem. I believe they're dialing in the range on the 4th gen, is what I'm saying.

So if you're a fence sitter, I think now is the time to bite. It's definitely awesome having this thing to tote around with me, use at my desk, etc.

That said, I do understand the frustration of people waiting for their replacement units. I was the VERY first person with an XP. I paid for it in December and between then and July when I received my properly working 3rd gen, I had a working unit for a total of less than 2 weeks. So that sucked, and I feel for anyone that's still waiting for their replacement, but find solace in knowing that what you get next is unlikely to kick the bucket, and that, though at times quite unresponsive, Pharmacore seems like they're just trying to catch up on the backlog, as opposed to being jerks. They were too-quick-to-market with the XP -- I think the whole project would been better as a Kickstarter campaign, where a degree of beta-ness is expected. But here we are now and things are looking good.

Have faith and toke.

Oh, and a story.

I'm in a crowded area trying to find a place to vape with my XP. No can find. So I start walking, cuz you know, it helps for the incognito. I'm walking down this hill and I take a haul... and there's this voice from behind my head, I thought it was a guy in a group -- "Is that marijuana?!?" and his tone was just hilarious. I thought he was talking to his friend, and I thought this could be bad news, so I sneak the vape back into my pocket and keep walking. doot-de-doo. (whistles like nothing's happening). When I finally get a chance to look back without looking suspicious, I see it was just one guy. And he probably WANTED some rather than wanting to reprimand me. What was funny was how confused he was, like, 'WHERE is that coming from? And why does it smell sweeter than usual?!" Totally bewildered man. At another time, another date, I would have just said, "here, have a pull", but I remembered that time in South Africa when an Afrikanner (the old racist type) got all violent on me when he smelled me tokin in a park. That was South Africa, this is BC (Marc Emery ftw), but hey.... next time.

Nobody has to convince me that a properly working XP is a great vape. I completely believe it.

I'm mostly just concerned about the possibility of getting stranded with a product that doesn't work from a company who isn't responsive and/or quick about replacing it. I don't have a ton of spare money (or time), so having confidence in a product and the company goes a long way for me.

Just putting it out there...I was just surprised to see the manufacturer post on here essentially telling existing customers who have been waiting weeks or months for a replacement that it essentially isn't his problem (whether the individual who mans this account is in customer service or not, the response rubbed me the wrong way...you all work for the same company, and addressing customer concerns should really be the realm of everyone...especially the public face of the company). I'm not coming in here to cause trouble or anything else...I'm just struck by the difference in customer service and concern displayed in this thread compared to some of the other vape threads on here. It doesn't give me a lot of confidence to invest my $250 in this product rather than some of the other promising portables out there when I see other manufacturers bending over backwards to make their paying customers happy.

Don't get me wrong, I want an XP (that works, obviously). I do like clouds. I like the form factor. I just wish I didn't keep reading stuff in here--from both existing customers and a representative from the company itself--that scares me away.

I still haven't test drove it yet (cuz I have no doubt it will be amazing since all the lights work and it heats up)
I just wanted to mention this is my 4th (or perhaps 5th) Inhalater over last 2-3 years, and I had pre-ordered (and paid for) this one 6 months ago in Feb.

I also STILL have a dead one waiting for replacement since May which died after much use. I was in love with the last model and since all models were more effective IMO than all my other vapes, I never had any complaints with any of the versions as long as they worked.

Still have no complaints as this is how it goes and I'm ok with it. I also wanted an Ascent...same deal changing dates, delays. This is the electronic device industry, and pharmacor is growing/maturing like all the great companies had to do.

Sure they could offer apple type service & quality if they designed their business that way, but would cost us like $500.

Sorry if I sound insensitive, but I know many people with all different generations of inhalaters, all very happy with their working units. Until I came here, I thought my 2 that needed warranty was an anomaly as none of my friends ever had problems.

Anyway, hope you all get your replacements quickly.

Ya, that response rubbed me the wrong way a bit too. I'm just saying though that if you order now, it's unlikely you'll have issues. The people reporting issues are from earlier versions. And the people complaining about not getting their replacement yet are waiting for a replacement on an earlier version. For all the posts in here, I can't see a single person reporting an issue with a gen 3 vape onwards, basically from July onwards.

That's weird cause @Inhalater has helped me out before with warranty issues on this website with that same user name..and Fred is in warranty/CS and has made several posts here and exchanged PMs with me, how exactly are we supposed to know who we are talking to? And even if you are in production youd still want to help people out someway not give a comment bout how everyone is enjoying their XP.. LOL.. I enjoyed mine too WHEN IT WORKED.

Just to let you know Simmy I was offered a gen 3 which has lower temperatures than the XP is advertised, I didnt want to take it because I am a high temp user. So yes your unit may be great and working but it isnt even giving you the temps the XP advertises, the reason why some past users complained about "no clouds".

I'm new to FC, but in general I find that people have an easier time writing on a forum when their device is broken and they have plenty of time to complain. I'm willing to bet that out of the 1200 units sold, the majority of them are working as intended and the users are too happy with their product to post on a public forum. And tbh, i think I've really only seen about 10 or so users with complaints overall. and like simmy said, most are from the previous generations.

So to me, every positive review is worth a lot more than a single negative review. Because no comment is essentially a happy customer.

As the corporation beds itself, there is a lot of activity in the different departments. While we are getting units to be repaired and replaced, new customers and distributors are also waiting to receive their goods.

Yes we beleive that customers should be placed in order of payment priority, but in practice we cannot uniquely concentrate on one point: we must share efforts and time as effectively as possible.

Sure thing is that we are commited to making everybody happy; it's the core purpose of any democratic business, I think.

Being beta testers or not was referencing to the fact that evolution is necessary and newer product should always be getting better.

Releasing smaller amounts of units in a closed environment could perhaps go some ways in bringuing down returns; but there are some happy customers that appreciate the early release.

Hope this makes some sense

We have here 15 returns to be upgraded and shipped back. We fully expect having returned theses unit by thursday.

At the present time there are 2 users with this account identity: Fred who operates Marketing and Customer relations and Greg who does Amin and Engineering. (I'm Greg :-) ) We will seperate identities for less confusion.

Sorry for the comment, I had one in hand with this great herb mix. Got carried away ;-)

So is what I'm reading correct? They are ready to send replacements but the replacements are going to be janky until serial #1280+ or whatever? Then why would they even send those out at all? If it doesn't look like a $200+ product(and that usb port that I saw awhile back that was all hacked up looking with tons of silicone was not it) I'm sending it right back.

Ehhh, kinda... He said USB port is cosmetically flawed on colored models, and he posted a pic. I don't see too much of a problem. But I don't know why he mentioned it in the first place.

WUT? U don't see that white out looking paste around the LEDs? And most folks peel their stickers so the janky usb port will be there.

White looking paste is there, and slightly visible. Personally, I don't think its much of a problem. I'll probably make a lot of modifications to mine regarding cosmetics later on anyway. The micro USB port looks fine to me, are you saying there is a janky USB port is under the sticker? I didn't know that, ill have to go back through the post and see the original pics of the bad usb ports to compare

New to membership; lurking since last fall when I resumed utilizing organic after a 21.5 yr hiatus. Gave up chemical meds in May, preferring organic assistance for chronic condition. After being educated at this and other threads, am ready to bite the bullet and get an XP, so I can vape...time to join FC!.

This is a Thank You Sooo Much to all Members for allowing me to lurk for so long and learn so very much from you all. Dreamer, you have helped tremendously as I can relate to your condition, and feel a sisterhood :rofl:Love, love, love this forum and feel at home already. Hope I can add something someday :chill:

Note to mod: these posts were topically very different, hence the deliberate separate posts.

mod note to simmy: We have rules. One is no back-to-back posts unless you miss the edit window. Another is no discussion of moderator decisions. Would you like a point? I have plenty.

Welcome trippingoverstuff. It make us proud that you selected Inhalater after a thorough study :-)

Our research in substrates is pretty awsome. The mixes we have found, are in my opinion, in a class of their own.

Would love to discuss subject. What would you say I open a new thread for this: Substrate mixes in the Inhalater XP
