Yes, it is.
My experience with it suggests that who/how it is extracted & purged counts at least as much as what strain you get. I got this from Organic NW, and Mark, who is the BHO wizard, apparently really knows his shit. It's smooth, non-irritating, and tastes better than any of the other (hmm, 6?) various BHO samples (.5 - 1 gr) I've collected from other places.

It does settle into the body very nicely. If I feel any pain, I don't really care, it isn't suffering. :)

Here is a picture of my first attempt at bho. I've done qwet several times. The butane process was a lot quicker than I expected, I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if my alcohol extractions just take forever.

I sprayed out doors with about an oz of well grown, low potency bud. I used Lucienne butane which is labeled Zero Impurities and has supposedly been tested and proved damn near accurate. I'm pretty sure I used too much butane, but my chamber is also pretty large, I used like 1.4-1.7 cans.

I used a large pyrex in a hot water bath and the initial purge happened incredibly quickly. Once it was just bubbled and oil I took it inside. I did a couple hot water refills and then put it on a hot mat for an hour or so.

This is what I have right now. It is a little gooier than I was aiming for, but it's kind of a nice taffy texture. What do you guys think, is it purged enough?

so is the stuff not safe to consume? I was under the impression as long as you applied proper heat for long enough a vac only increases speed and consistency.

Should I not consume this? I can't taste or smell any butane and I've yet to get any funky action on the nail. It is a little harsh on the throat though, but pretty gentle on the chest.

Has great smell.

I did run a ounce but it was pretty low potency stuff (bottom of the plant type stuff) I yielded 1.85 grams in a 9x11 pyrex. So the pool of oil was very thin the entire time.

Try the flame test... take a lighter to it. me and @thesoloman demonstrated this in another thread. see if any tane is left.

I personally, along with many others, would not ingest a product they know is not vacuumed. Heat purge the whip = fail tek

And i see tons of trapped bubbles in your errl. Bubbles=tane mayne.

I'm also against whipping but I scraped too early due to being eager, and so I basically ended up whipping it despite knowing it traps tane.

Just did the lighter test, and your right I got a little bit of spark-age. Nothing anywhere near your video, but a little.

I'm still going to consume it though  I might put it back in some pyrex and try some more purging though.

I don't get any sparks off the nail, and I can't smell or taste it. Also my sensitive lungs have tolerated it very well so far. However it does leave a little residue on the nail. Overall it is a major improvement over the brown disgusting goop for sale around these parts that I refuse to buy. And I'm enjoying it well enough that I can't toss it.

However I think, I'm going to move some money around and see if I can't get a vac setup sooner rather than later. So that I can have it for my next run. Thanks for the help:peace:

Also try "winterizing" helps remove the rest of that nasty tane and also gets those residue spots outa there! Maybe a cheaper route until you have a vac? Although even with a vac i still rec winterizing!

I had also planned on winterizing XD

But I used the last of my everclear for my last qwet run, but have to go to the next state over to get a new bottle, which I have yet to do.

I did some more purging, lots of little bubbles came out. It is kind of like crumbly peanut butter now

Edit: Picture
It looks pretty similar in the picture, but the texture is totally different now. Regardless of the quality I'm having fun experimenting:science:

All those little bubbles in the first pictures are trapped butane. Fully purged oil will look clear, like a window. The wax you have after more purging is probably a lot easier on the throat, isn't it?

admiral can you please explain pretty detailed to me how exactly you purged your oil more to get that peanut buttery looking wax?

I sprayed directly into a large pyrex

Put that pyrex in a hot tap water bath refilling the water once.

Then I scraped it put it on a piece of parchment paper and put it on a folded seedling mat with a pyrex over top it to heat the top.

However I did a run last night, (showing my buddy, or I would post pics) using pretty much the same process and got a very hard end product, very shattery.

I think the difference between the two runs is that I scraped earlier on the first one (peanut buttery), and the second run I soaked in the hot water bath a bit longer before scraping.

Edit: I should mention the waxy substance I posted first was after the hot water purge, and after a very small amount of time on the seedling mat. Then after more time on the seedling mat, and a few more scrapings it turned into the second picture.
