Firewood Vaporizer

My favorite was holding the trigger down for 15 seconds (or more upon a cold start, I usually tell by heat on my lips when I'm touching the mouthpiece) then let go, and take a good draw. Then I'll take another shorter but slower draw. Then, I hold it down for like 5-7 seconds (more towards 5 i think but another few doesn't hurt) draw through it slowly, exhale and inhale slowly to get any excess. I do that a few times (2-3) and when I find that those 5-7 aren't producing anything more I start holding it down until i feel the heat, sip it, exhale and then slowly sip it again. Usually you can't do that more than once or twice since it starts to burn the herb.

Most of that I got from others on the forum and their recommendations. Everyone is extremely helpful here.

Although after that initial draw, those next few hits in my opinion teach you how to slowly draw to regulate temperature better. I just think of it like by slowly sipping it you are actually cooking it by making sure the heat's higher, and often have gotten vapor whenever I didn't think there would be any. Your mileage may vary though!

Are we supposed to get a tracking number? I feel like mine should have gotten here Thursday or Friday.
It displayed as shipped and gave no further information, is this normal?

My FW is still working nice, the little issue is that my abv comes out darker in the middle of the bowl and very green in the others parts, I grind fine but not like powder and I shake 1 or 2 times but without better results except when I use really small amount (maxi 0.1g).
Do you have this issue?

I Just got mine in the mail today.Ordered a Walnut model.First impression is it looks an feel really nice.
I charged it up and tried it out.Have to say it definitely did the trick surprisingly quick.I am very pleased with this.I own a solo as well and the effects from this are on par.Only thing lacking is a matching case.Something this cool needs a case.

Whats up firewood? I saw you on reddit when you were making this thing and weren't sure how well it was going to do.

Here I am now almost definitely going to get one during this massdrop sale. It seems so well reviewed and the price is right.

I really love the look of that walnut and what a great deal, I wish I could jump in on it, but funds are just too low at the moment. I hope a bunch of you pick this one up while the deal is so good. I love using my Firewood!

Vaporize is health
Hi all,

I've been testing this vape for a pair of months, and my global conclusion is a good vaporizer. Since my first hit I liked it, good flavor (very important for me), very portable, but you have to learn to use it, like a race car, you have to learn to drive it.

It's easy to use with verticals bubblers like Nibbler X or a small hydratubes, a portable vape-bong:

It's not a perfect vape, it have cons, but it's very useful for my use.

I feel like I would love this with the nibbler. Another awesome factor. My current portable doesn't need water filtration, and thats the only portable I've ever felt that way, so I'm glad this works well with it.

EDIT: well I finally committed on kickstarter. Only a few more people need to commit and we get this for under $85 shipped! The walnut version too :)

:rockon:hi everybody, just having a look around here,
after about 3 month with the firewood i have to say i am still very impressed and happy with this wonderfull vaporizer, as some said it has his learning curve, but that was, in my case, very easy and fast, the taste is still like on day one, the cleaning is ridiculously simple , get at least 9 good sessions out of one load, use it together with the solo almost everyday, when the wood becomes a little dirty from having it in the pocket etc, just rubb it with very little iso on a towel and it looks new, the glass tube is quiet resistant it fell 2-3 times on concrete/stone floor and nothing to see all ok, it goes into most pockets it is discreet, it is made mostly out of wood, there are no plastic or other tastes
in fact, it only tasted wood on initial 'burn in' and only for some seconds, there are no wires or plastic sh..
and also: the firewood is definitely more GonG than another new electronic vaporizer might advertise
(guess you know of witch i speak...also interested in that one, but until it is bug free, i won't pay a(s)cent for it...:myday:):smug:

but now, coming back to the firewood:
it is suuuuppperrrrrrrfantasticjustbuyitandbehappy:love::clap::love:

Put my order in on massdrop a few days ago. I can't wait to upgrade portables from the mflb. Just wanted to know how discreet the shipping is.

Edit: Answered my own question!

Also, my awesome GF just offered to buy this for me as a very, very early birthday present. I'm more than excited to be joining the Firewood club, and with a Walnut taboot!

edit 2: Is it normal that the heat button is easier to press on the right side (when looking at power button).
Yes that is normal. The switch component that is below the wood is on the right side so the button works better on that side.

I'm sorry for the late reply. It's hard to keep up with all of the social media and emails. In general if anybody posts a question that doesn't get answered, feel free to send me a PM reminder and I'll get you an answer.

Nice! I have noticed that you showed interest in the past and I'm glad you decided to finally get one. I hope you find it was worth the wait.

Just wanted to know how discreet the shipping is.

It will ship in a USPS small priority box and the return address will just say "Firewood" with a PO Box.

Hi everybody, I've just finished reading the whole topic and that was definitely interesting : p Thank you to all the reviewers. It seems to be exactly what I'm looking for ! I'm going to buy one on massdrop but first I still have a few questions :
1) Finally what is the expected lifetime of a nichrome wire ? It can't be as solid as the ultra basic stainless steel' mlfb's rods ; but hey it seems to work better so I guess I should probably make some concessions.
2) Has someone been able to look inside ? Any plastic sheaths ? And what if the battery leaks ? Of course I'm sure there are no and I purposely take a skeptical tone because in my opinion health has primacy over everything :-)
3) As other persons have already said I'm also a bit concerned about the battery life since I've got 4 dead batteries in a year with my mflb :/ The product looks so awesome, I would be so disappointed if after a year I can't use it anymore. Furthermore I live in France so even with a batterie replacement service it would be tedious to have to return the unit to the U.S.
However I've heard that Firewood would "be offering wall outlet power adapters soon which will extend battery life if used often."
4) Finally as said before I live in France and if I try to order from http://firewoodvapes.com, shipping costs $23.95, but on massdrop it's written that shipping to France costs only $8.11 !! Is that true ? That would be really great !

Sorry for all these questions, it is because it looks so perfect that I am becoming demanding.

Thank you :-)

18650s in the firewood are far better than the mflb batteries. Will last a lot longer. Also they will be offering a battery replacement program for a price around $30 I believe. Worth it to me. Who knows what vape tools I'll be using when the 18650 dies. Long long time IMO. Then $30 well spent.

I don't expect to see any nichrome failures. We use 24 gauge, which is much thicker than the wire used in vape pens and our wire is sandwiched between two glass tubes, so it is very well protected.

I have looked inside :) There are no plastic sheaths. We use NiMH batteries, which don't leak.

Our batteries are rated for at least 80% of initial capacity after 500 full charge/discharge cycles. I think for a typical user who uses the power adapter (available soon) when at home to avoid battery usage, the batteries could last 3 to 4 years, but of course the definition of a "typical" user could vary a lot.

For international customers, massdrop will handle the shipments, so you should probably check with them for the official word on shipping prices.

we actually use 4 AA niMH batteries, not 18650. It is hard to compare to mflb though becuase mflb has around 10A discharge rate while we are around 3A and discharge rate is a big factor in how long nimh lasts.

Interesting. Thought you used 18650. Good to know I guess, but at a reasonable price I'd be glad to send it out for a brand new battery either way.

After seeing that video with the nibbler I'm sure I'll want to replicate that. How is the nibbler attached? It just sits on the stem and happens to be air tight?
