man i was so tempted to take my UD w/ me last weekend when i went out to Colorado.. i was too nervous to try and bring it along on the plane.. i wish i had it there w/ me.. i had never flown before though and i didn't know how easy it would have been hah.. i didn't wanna risk losing it for whatever reason.. or risk being questioned about it hah... musta been nice having it around on your trip.
Converted a number of east coasters to vaporizers
Everyone got a good rip off it the first time.

How does the heat up time on the California eucalyptus compare to the twigs? They are some beautiful pieces

The heat up times are all similar amongst similar sized pieces, so since the California Eucalyptus pieces are Twig sized, or rather they ARE Twigs, they should all heat up similarly. The only functional difference between the Classic Core and the newest pieces are the Nylon Stem compatibility. :peace:

...Are the Underdog and E-Nano similar? Are there any other alternatives I should check out? I'm putting a premium on GonG-to-Bubbler pathway, minimal pathway before hitting the bubbler, *fast* vapor production (from off to vapor clouds in <= 2/3 minutes), really nice thick cloud vapor production, and flavor.

Very similar in function, very different in design. If you're looking for 'off to clouds in <=2/3 minutes' then an UD is probably not for you. :2c:

How often does the site get updated with new dogs? Not trying to sound impatient or anything that's cool if this gets ignored but I was gonna pick one and didn't want to miss out on some new choices it they're right around the corner

I am finishing pieces now and am planning on a refresh in the next 5-6 days, probably 20+ new Dogs.

@ ogcook - nice, glad you were able to do some cable-work and get things setup more to your liking.

Dave I think you are the hardest working vapoerizer producer out there. No one in this community gets as much done as you do. Glad I own 2 of your pieces, they are my favorite and most reliable vaporizers and I hope to always enjoy them. They are the first vapes I praise when people want a good desktop. Keep on turnin that wood and don't stop!:clap::rockon:

Wow that is great to hear about the new dogs cant wait to see them, glad I asked now lol.

Oh man there are already so many beautiful pieces on there right now! I guess it's nice to have more choices though.

I still keep looking at the ones from this last refresh and wanting another one. Speaking of which I'll get around to writing that full review eventually, I've been pretty busy playing with my new UD.

Hah I don't know if that's true but it certainly feels like it at times. I think I average about a 60hr work week these past 2-3 years with a decent amount of 70hr ones thrown into the mix as well!

Well speaking of work, off to the shop to work on some custom pieces.

Lovin my bocote twig more and more every day. Perfect workhorse vape. My ash UD is purely back up now. Here's a video to show my love. 12.8volts is my new favorite temp. Nothin else to say except one thing, no vapes are as simple as the UD. My nano takes more herb and time, my solo eats more herb, and my vapor genies aren't consistent. The UD is the vape I bring out when friends are over because it's easy for them to use. Enough ass kissin

I am still figuring mine out. Coming from a Purple Days that is always on to a UD with VVPS that is ramped back while not in use, I am finally getting comfortable with it. Some notes:
  • If you have a waterpipe/bubbler that takes the 14mm attachment, the GonG stem is AWESOME. I was using the silicone stem with the PD before, but the GonG stem with the UD is fantastic.
  • The heatup times and suggested voltages are no joke. If you let yours idle at 10v during down time, give it the 20-30 minutes after turning to 12-13v before making the magic happen.
  • It is hotter in the hand than the PD when at the same voltage, but that's to be expected given the smaller size. The PD is the size of a soda can; the UD I got (spalted pecan) is about the size of an apple juice can.
  • Coming from the PD, I needed to make adjustments on taking hits, especially with the GonG stem. The PD was very much a "suck like you're drinking a thick milkshake through a straw", while the UD seems to do better with "suck like you're drinking a big drink from your Big Gulp".
I am still playing around with it to get it where I want, but I'm sure it's all user error at this point. I would recommend the VVPS for all and the GonG for those who have a pipe that takes it. Can't say enough good things about that setup.

Thanks again, Dave and team. Very happy.

Hey Stu, it's not actually called "California Madrone" it's just regular Madrone that grows all over the (northern) west coast. Typically pieces that include a place name in the title are from wood that I've personally harvested, milled and dried and since I know where they came from I like to share the info.

That Madrone is local to our area and grows pretty prolifically. It's a horrible pain in the ass to dry though so almost all of what is cut is used for firewood which is a shame because it's a really beautiful wood. One of my favorite trees actually. :peace:

Great Scott!
My underdog should be back home soon. Ordered a 14mm gong and some screens with it.

I can't wait to have this always ready to go for use with my matrix bubbler (bent glass not mobius LOL).

I really have been missing the always on aspect of this while using other vapes in the meantime.

Is there any way to sort the vapes on the website by number, rather than material/name?

What's the verdict on these? More wong than gong, but they sure look nice:
