My experience with both is that with the SSV the first hit taste pretty good,then blandness and degrades from there.
With the VHW the flavors are more concentrated/intense and longer lasting,only the last hit will have degraded flavor.

I just got this vape today. I can't seem to get any milk!! Actually my exhales are next to nothing!

Also, my LED seems to turn off then back on on it's own. Is it supposed to stay on? or when does it turn off?

what setting?turn it up full blast and then back down a tad and wait about 7 minutes.

the LED thing is normal

sert bud - i receommend letting it heat up for 10 minutes before taking hits. THe light just indicates when the heater is on/off, not when you've reached the proper vaping temp. It can be a bit confusing but just let it haet up for 10 min and you'll be cool

Does it glow red/orange? I turn the dial clockwise all the way, then counter clockwise three hash marks.

Also, I pack mine to the brim, so that might help too.

Let me know if this cures your problem

Still the same :(

I filled the bowl to right about where the rubber seal sits.

The wand's tip is glowing red, but only intermittently - when the LED starts to flicker, it looses heat.

I place the wand over the bowl, witht the temp setting at full blast, wait 5 seconds, then start to hit from the bong. I can taste a little bud, but I'm not drawing in a lot of vapor.

I did take the round plastic around the tip of the wand off - does that need to stay on?

Why did u take the seal off the tip of the wand? that's why you are not getting a seal.

Also, I fill to the brim, not the silicone ring.

I got the seal tight - and now I'm fucked up :o

I just needed to heat it up a little while longer. This thing rocks!

Hey everybody this is my first post, I've been obsessively lurking for a couple weeks now. My my the advances in vapes are amazing! I started out with light bulb/hot plate vapes, then I got an e-vape similar to an aromazap with a brass heating element. Not all that tasty. I did not like bags, have never tried a whip, and I am a budget buyer, it's gotta be around $150 max for me. Thanks to stonemonkey and many other great vids and posts, I just placed my order for a Vriptech Heat Wand and 18mm bowl with o-ring seal. GonG bongs aren't all that popular here and I wanted something that would work with my existing bongs. Almost got the diffuser and all new GonG setup but that was almost $60 more. Where do these ship from anyways??? Tempting... Anyways THANKS all and I will be reporting back shortly!

Update: ordered yesterday, shipped today! Emailed asking about 2-day delivery, but shipped ground the day after ordering is good too. 5 days delivery time for me so should be here in Saturday, PERFECT timing!

Okay the moment has arrived for me! So excited! Just opened the box, and realized I wasn't ready oh no! Had to make a tin foil boat, commander a power strip and clean the bong while the wand heated up. Wow it is cherry red when heating! Packed a loaded bowl with a bit of kif on top, licked the thumb to get it all in there...

Heat is maxed on the wand, ice in my bong, time to rip, here I go!! HOLY cough cough FUCK! cough cough good lord what a rip! Hit 'er hard, first 3 secs of the hit were "where is it now..." then I had to stop "woah there she is!" and blew out a huge cool hit. Examined the bowl and it had one small dark brown spot. Turned the temp down a tad. Noticed a bit of condensation on the unit. Lets go back for another! Wow WHAMMY! Another bout of eyes-watering coughing. My Vrip had been christened. I dub thee "Hammer to the Head" and I am proud to be a VRipMaster! Ahh just two hits and still getting higher.....!

Thanks guys for all your recommendations and input it really helped my purchase. Now I have to read the dang 85 pages of Launch Box and order one for use on lunch break.

Remind me, do I turn it down between bowls?

I keep mine three hash marks from the maximum. You should experiment yourself to see what kind of vapor you like, but I tend to inhale vapor on the lower heat spectrum. A trick I use is to blow my vapor into a white, flouracent light. This will allow you to see if you vapor has a bluish tint (low temp vape) or if it looks more white (benzene gets introduced).

It is pretty funny how excited we get with new toys - Need it NOWWW! :) Be sure you are ready for when it comes with a VHW-holder of some sort and a cgfi power strip. I just bought the mic stand recommended here (thanks fear) Quiklok A188 Desktop Tripod Microphone Stand for $18 through amazon shipped.

The VFW does deliver the big hits promised! Hammer to the head for sure.

Oh and you guys are converting me quickly lol I just bought two Magic Flight Launch Boxes this morning! :)

Check out Magic Theatre or the Cave in San mateo, I know they carry them there.

Magic Theatre is more of the mom and pop shop, so I like to support those fokls.

Cave has a better glass selection

I use my BM bowl without the silicon and I get a good seal, just as good as the SSV. Have you tried it without the silicon yet?

Or a Verdamper they all have similar concepts but tweaked to users taste seen a good idea thought he would improve it and i guess (I havent tried it) but FOR HIM I imagine it perfect!!:) so hats of respect for not finding exactly what you want on the market then just making one your self! So what IMO is it has common design traits I am sure like all vape designs the results are very similar but still almost unique from model to model. I suppose its a bit like a person preferring one very good cigar over another its not an insult to the cigar it still is a top cigar, its just objective
One quick question with the Herbro I presume because of the housing design you can't 'boost' it like a Verdamper?
if this is the case then this should own the Hebro
