Oooooh I forgot to say. They have that missprinted. It's actualy closer to 16. Mine is anyways. I was fine with it because with a 32mm Inside Diameter it's not bad at all. Throw some beads in to take up
beaker volume if it bothers you. They can change the way a piece feels completly. You really don't have to worry about the peice being too big with the VHW. I guess I haven't found one yet. It's pretty beastly.

I have the VHW and I am wondrg if anyone stops taking hits as the tastes becomes more diffcult, regardless even if the kron looks somewhat fresh ?

it's really up to you, i tend to think there are diminishing returns once you get to that burnt popcorn flavor but if you are low on herb, you can keep vaping away

I usually collect all my vaped herb and make cannabutter later.

Seems pretty delicate but def does the trick like its spose to, so far.

Updated review after it gets a good fair share of use.

As long as you realize it's all glass you shouldn't have a problem. I tend to keep my stand on the floor as well so if it does happen to get tipped over there's not nearly as big of a drop. 90 for a new cover is alot of money.

Am I the only one who is having a hard time getting in touch with vriptech? I've sent at least 4 emails with no response...

No it's not just you. I haven't had any replies to emails, and still no sight of the replacement cover, no tracking. I just kind of wait, and eventually it shows up. It would be REALLY NICE if customers would get an email when the order ships, so one can tell if the processing or shipping is slow, or if there is even anyone home that day at vriptech. It's bitteresweet for me, because the product here is excellent. Other than the fragility of the piece, it's really top notch, but the customer service is kind of ghostly...tumbleweeds...

Hey Jedu, what's your comparison of the herborizer vs.. vriptech, especially in terms of durability. I've gone through two heater covers already on the vhw, and at this rate, I could have almost bought a herorizer already! Yes, I'm sure some of it is clumsiness on my part, just wondering what your take is on the two vapes.

i just got off the phone from the man himself and he said that he's looking thru all his emails and each of them have been responded to. I told him to check his spam folder and he still didn't see any outstanding emails that he hasn't answered. I asked him what he can do to take care of the fc.com crowd so he gave me this new email address - headvripper@vriptech.com and in the subject line put "from Fc.com" or something else just so he knows who you are and can add you to the "not spam" list

This should resolve any email issues in the future

Yeah I've never gotten any shipping notifications either, even if I ask for it. I usually have to send 5 or 6 emails over the course of 2 weeks to get a reply. I've emailed both the headvripper address as well as the regular customer service email (and included the "stonemonkey55 send me.)

I am still waiting for my Herbo to arrive but I'll post up a comparison as soon as I use it for a bit.

I received excellent customer support through email a little while back for my VHW, I even got some voicemail messages to confirm shipping information etc. SM had advised me to put FC.com in the subject line through chat and I couldn't have been happier with the results. Vrip seems to be pretty intent on giving good service so I hope it all gets worked out!

On another note, I've started using silicon oven mitts (the flat kind with lines) when I travel and bring the VHW wand with me, it seems to give a nice easy surface to place the wand on that reduces a lot of the risk of the wand falling provided you find a way to place the cord where it wont be pulled away. So far I don't use this at my house since I already have a unique storage solution that works for now, but I have been toying with the idea of making a more permanent solution with silicon. Something like a large wood box with a silicon 'taco' for one side and enough room on the other to place most of the cord. That's as far as I've gone but based on my success with silicon as a travel mat I'd suggest the more clumsy of us to try it out :lol:

Opteka camera case, can't say enough about the thing, it is the PERFECT travel and storage solution, not only for your wand but your slides, bong, mason jar, grinder, scissors, poker, and ABV jar all neatly stored in a padded camera case, with slots for all the items, the cost 40 shipped. Going on 9-10 months, no broken glass, its all about being cautious with your things. :2c:

I have one of those camera cases as well, works excellent for traveling. Before that I used a wooden wine box shoved into a small gym bag with towels and tshirts arranged for padding, which has kept its glass inhabitant safe for about 8 years, but took 5-10 minutes to setup each time. After using the camera case though, I realize how much danger my pieces have been in this whole time :uhoh:

Thanks for the mitt tip "jack's liver". That long heavy cord was involved both times I knocked the wand to the floor. Then got a big glass to put the wand in, but even then the cord hangs out and it's unbalanced. The same issue I see with laying it on something, the cord will hang down at some point, and gravity lurks... I'm thinking of adding some weight to the handle part of the wand, to try to create more resistance to the mass of the cord.

I'm asking right here, right now... for a vrip VHW, cordless edition. brow

I am having a major concern with my VHW.

I am worried that since the wand itself sits in a cup and the cord drapes over it, That the cord will wear out and the bend and cause the whole unit to need to be replaced prematurely.

The cord itself is a pretty heavy gauge, so that is a plus but with constant use and always being moved back and forth i am really scared that it will damage the wires inside the cord.

This is a problem that happens alot with many electronic devices , i.e. phone and laptop chargers, headphones, etc

So is thier anyone out their who has had their unit for

6 months ?

1 year ?

How is the cord holding up?

Don't worry about it. The cord is the last of your concerns. And i've had mine for 6-7 months. Stonemonkey has had it longer than most and he hasn't ever had a problem either. You'll be fine.

Mine will probly be on about 12 hours a day, getting ALOT of use ...

I like to unplug mine and use a surge protector. Not sure if that's the secret to longevty but that's how I use mine

Yeah I turn mine all the way down inbetween seshs. And mine isn't on that much. I wish I could but I'm not able to use it all the time. I'm down to using it once or twice a week now which makes me sad. Not much I can do though. Living with parents blows

Where's its' centre of gravity? How about storing it with the element up, cord and electronics down, supporting itself from underneath the heat shield e.g. on a wire coathanger ghetto stand, or sitting in a drilled out cavity on a table's edge:

I'm not drilling any holes in furniture thanks. I did like the microphone stand holder that was posted a ways back, but it's kind of a bulky solution. I prefer to store the wand tip-down, as it seems to retain heat better. Still I think the cord creates a balance issue weight-wise, and both heater covers I've broken came from getting the cord snagged on something and...down she went.

The rubber whatever-it's-called thing that is where the cord meets the main unit, seems to do a good job of keeping the cord from bending at too radical an angle. I'm far more worried about breaking the glass inner rings on the heater cover....

I'm really starting to wonder if I could mod the wand to be wireless/use a battery pack. The wiring from the cord to the wand looks simple and easily accessible... anyone know how many watts/amps vrip wand is rated at?

60 watts is what the website states.

I do use a surge protector, Mark from VRIP advised i do so.

Spent about 35 bucks on a really good one.

But still I will be using mine all the time.

I will attempt to turn it down between sessions, but when it comes to me wanting to vape and i have to wait 10 mins i am not a happy camper

Boo hoo to me i know... lol

No clue but I'm bettin if you got a battery pack to work for it the pack would be huge. And I'm pretty sure results would be less than desired. Battery packs would work with something that's not so big (pd, mz, or wdz). If you wanna bust yours open, go for it. Just don't mess it up so much you can't go back. Cuz I'm almost completly sure it draws waaaaay to much power to use batteries with.

I run my cord under my couch and set my wand and stand on the floor right up against the couch so I don't kick it or knock it over. Just realize it's glass and very easily broken.

Oh and when in use the weight of the cord is quite nice. I set the wand off center on my thigh when I'm stirin and it stays put. Probaly not recomended but I feel completly comfortable doin it. I love that thick ass cord.

Edit: goin from all the way down to operating temp takes about two min. Not 10
