MiniVAP Vaporizer

Hello guys, hope you are all doing well. I recently became interested in this vaporizer (ty all MV users here especially Roger D!) so I purchased it last week. I was on vacation for a few days and when I returned on Wednesday I was surprised to see two packages waiting for me, one of which was the MiniVap! I did order it last week, however, I had just received a shipping notification on Tuesday so I was elated to have it in my hands only one day after I thought it had shipped!

At first I was slightly puzzled by the MiniVap. I enjoyed the flavor and the hits but it seemed like the herb was not done. I was using the silicone whip because I hadn't thought of a way to mate the MV with my glass. So while I enjoyed the experience, I was slightly disappointed and felt not satisfied with the unit. I was, however, very pleased with how free the airflow was and the nice and flavorful hits you can get.

After testing with the MV for a while, I figured out a way to connect the MV to my glass (much thanks to all who showed their connections as I did get the idea from this help). Unfortunately, the connection is not perfect (yet) but I have some new silicone I have ordered that I hope will allow the silicone cone to connect with a perfect seal to my adapter, as now it is a bit loose.

After finding how to connect to glass, I did a lot of testing with the MV. I tried different temperature settings, different ways to connect the basket and cone together with my adapter, different bowl sizes and packs, etc. My findings are similar to what many of you have said already (though I am quite inexperienced as it's only my 3rd day with the MV). I find the unit performs best after being heated for a while (much like the Cloud). After 30-45 minutes I notice my MV will be quite warm and this is when I get the best extraction. I like to put it Green once it has been fully heated. Perhaps a bit different from some MV users here, I find the best results with a very full packed basket. My herb is very fluffy so I can't put too much in. But I did a nice ~.18 load last night and had the best session I have had yet. I got so many hits from this load with my bubbler it was amazing. I am really loving this device!

Today, I woke up and let the MV heat for a bit (15-20 mins). I decided to try the Pink temperature, which I had tried before but not yet with a water piece and with the new adapter setup. I used around my normal load ~.1 give or take and on the first hit I got one of the best tasting vapor hits I have ever had in my life. I don't know what it was but it was so beautiful. The unit was not quite to the point where it was warm so the Pink temperature provided the perfect tasting and low temperature hit... not to mention it was quite potent too! I will continue to play around with the temperatures, but being a high temp user with all vapes I will probably stick with green on a fully heated unit - or take 1 hit on Pink and then move to Green. The flavor on Green really is exceptional as well and even on Red I can get a decent taste (if the MV isn't fully heated).

These are my first thoughts so far after having it for just a few days. I don't want to do any Cloud vs MV comparisons just yet but let me just say the MV is very impressive. I haven't used my Cloud in a couple days because of my intense testing of the MiniVap. I really love it so far because of how modular it is and how much room for expansion there is depending on the imagination of the user. I hope some day there will be more OEM accessories specifically a glass adapter professionally made for the MV with water pieces but for now I am very satisfied.

I will leave you with a quick video of the MV with the Mobius Ion Matrix. I apologize for the dirty glass and cellphone video. It was a very quick take and I put the MV on Red to try to show more vapor, but as you know you can get very large hits with Green or even Pink. This was the first hit but I had 3 more after this (2 medium hits and 1 wispy hit). Well, that's enough rambling for now... I gotta heat my MV back up and get back to some more testing. :science:

Thank you. I sent an email to their info@*******.com (don't want their email to be indexed on a search engine) account.

I hope they will respond soon. I start chemo on Tuesday, so I am sure I cannot get it in time. It was under short notice that I got the news that I was to receive chemo--and I am stressed out about receiving it.

I'm surprised that you are willing to delay the order by calling/emailing them. If I was in a hurry for it I would have ordered it yesterday.

I didn't have the money until today. The bank was closed. :(

I guess I should have been more prepared. I just became more and more scared about getting sick from the chemo.

Good luck diabeticgonewild. If you do end up getting this device I think you will be quite satisfied. It is very nice - simple and advanced at the same time if that can possibly make sense. It's powerful - but not wasteful. Once one is able to move past the high price tag, the device is very desirable and satisfactory.

I can't decide if I like my MiniVap better with or without the cap on. I use the MV with my glass 99% of the time, but I still keep going back and forth between cap and no cap. It seems like each way has its benefits.

With the cap on, the operation of the MiniVap is easier and more user-friendly. Everything stays sealed with my adapter so it's just like using a Cloud with a glass piece or any other vaporizer that has a glass male end. If I were to introduce the MV to a new user I think this is how I would let them use it. The bad part is that the basket is in the chamber the entire time so it will be slightly cooking. Now, this may or may not be a big issue because this device is almost pure convection, but there is still a bit of heat being placed onto your herbs while you are not hitting it.

With the cap off, I notice one or two slight benefits. The airflow seems to be slightly improved, although it isn't too much better than with the cap on. Also, as mentioned in the cons of using the cap, the basket with your herb is only in contact with heat while you are hitting it. So you can take a hit, place the MV aside, and return to your bowl in a few minutes without losing any of your medicine (like if you were to leave the cap on and the basket stays heated the entire time until the device cools down a bit). The only bad thing about this method is that it's not quite as easy to use as with the cap on. It is not difficult or uncomfortable by any means and actually reminds me of using an LSV with a water piece. I haven't tried one but the method looks quite similar.

With that said, I'm still messing with each method and will continue to tweak my setup moving forward. I have some glass adapters coming in that should help me create more ways to connect my MV to my few glass pieces. Also, I have some accessories coming in from MV. These are mostly just extra flexi-cones, baskets and screens. They plan on offering more sets of accessories in the coming months so it will be easier to replace certain parts or buy extras. I'm very excited to test out one new accessory and I think it will help the MV work even better with smaller loads ;). That's all for now.

I will leave you with two quick videos showing a water test with and without the MV cap. Please note: These were shot on two separate occasions (sry again for the dirty glass but she's finally clean!) so keep in mind they are using two different water levels. Let me know if you guys have an opinion on the matter.

Cap

No Cap

Edit: Couple more I had taken. Just rough takes and cell phone quality. These are both with the cap on the MV.

Edit 2: One more quick session but without the cap. Last one for now I promise :) Hehe, need to take a little break - have been going through so much herb just testing with the MiniVap. Can't say it hasn't been fun though :ko:

I ordered the MiniVAP and the device will be arriving on Friday.

Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate this. You guys all have amazing videos. :)

The MiniVAP looks purely amazing. I will probably try it out with no cap first.

I need to get some glass too, for maximum benefit.

I have not received chemo yet. In fact, yesterday it was called off due to an infection.

Thanks again for the help. I am going to look at the videos once again and reread posts.

If you don't have any glass yet ... I love using my MiniVAP with a HydraTube (similar setup to Cloud)

I use either my Cloud hydratubes, or more often, since my MiniVAP is my on-the-go device, I use my Zapubbler (basically a 14mm smaller version of a hydratube). If I was buying a new MiniVAP and had no glass, I would probably get the PV f-Bomb or Pinnacle WT to mate with it. Just my 2 cents ... the hydratube type setup is better if you will be using it portable and on-the-go ...

A smallest battery..... it's the only thing I can say now without broke the secret ! :)
Perhaps I should hold off a bit before I buy the battery :D

Awesome!! So glad to hear this and I think you have made a great choice. Using the MV is awesome. Using the MV with glass is beyond awesome. You'll need some sort of adapter to connect the MV to your glass joint (not commercially available but easy enough to make) and a piece of glass. JCat has some nice suggestions. I find the MV works awesome with a small bubbler and also works pretty darn well with a Hydratube. If you need help with glass suggestions I'm sure we can all chime in. :2c:

A glass mouthpiece would be great, only hope they remember to make it so it is possible to hook it up to a water tool...

How this should work, I dunno...I imagine a small piece of glass with room for da herb, and a 14 or 18mm male connection on the other side where either a simple j-hook type of glass can be connected or where we can connect it to our beloved water tools...

and a smaller battery, yes please...I have not even one time run completely out of juice with the current one, so a smaller one for shorter 'on the goes' is more then welcome.

Thanks to those who keep us updated a bit.

My battery's only dropped down from green (full charge) once ... I generally charge back up after a session or two since it's so easy with the dock ... if I'm using it a lot it just stays on the dock for the most part.

I received mine today, and while using it, one of the side buttons literally FELL OFF!

I put the button back on, but it is loose. Also, I cannot turn the device on!

Does the device need a lot of charging before use, or am I just being impatient?

ETA: The button is no longer loose, but my vape is not turning on yet.

Please help.

I am pretty sure mine fired up right out of the box. But it all boils down to two things:

Maybe it just was not charge,
or
Your unit might be defective.

After three hours of charging it should fire up even if the battery was dead ti begin with.

I have been charging the device for at least three hours now.

The vape does not light up when plugged in does it?

Also, the charger cable is always green when plugged in, correct?

Green means the charger is powered up.

That green light should turn red when the charger is under a load.
