I decided to fill a bag without the elbow-screen at all, with the fan setting on 1. This fan speed is low enough that it won't blow bits of herb into the elbow.

Without the elbow screen, the vapor came through very nicely...

What happens is that resin/hash builds up on the screen and gunks up everything. In my case, it had completely impeded the flow of air/vapor. I think it doesn't help that the screen has a dense mesh. It basically becomes a wall of hardened THC syrup.

Yesterday, I cleaned everything using rubbing alcohol and salt the way I would clean a pipe or bong. My screens came out looking like new.

However, I can already see the resin start to build up after a handful of vapes, and I feel like it won't take very long at all for them to become clogged at all. Plus, it bothers me know that they will gradually impede vapor over time unless I clean them frequently.

I might just ditch the elbow-screen when I'm using the bags. It makes sense for the whip (which I stopped using over time in favor of the bag, probably because it was also clogged) because otherwise you'd inhale tiny bits of leaves, but it's just a hindrance for filling bags.

Hi! I keep a piece of paper towel on hand and use it to clean out elbow and the elbow screen each time after use. I blow the screen first then I gently rub the screen on the sides and top from the outside, then make a dent in the paper towel with my finger and very gently swirl it on the inside of the screen (you only want to loosen debris from this side) and then I blow it out again. This keeps my screen clean for weeks during use several times a day. It's easier to get rid of the oils that build up when they are still hot. I also roll the paper towel up and use it to clean the cyclone bowl. You can use the paper towel numerous times before replacing it.

Im curious if this mod makes the EQ makes produce more clouds than the LSV and sublimator. Those were next on my list but with this mod I wonder if those vapes are still worth it? Anyone have the LSV and/or the Sublimstor to do a cloud comparison vid?

You could actually do an experiment to see if this method will be satisfying enough. I personally made mods that made me stop looking at other vapes for awhile. But anyway try using @Seek s inverse method. MAN THAT IS A,BEAST!! Its what got me experimenting with trying to get bigger clouds. DDaves method is like the Answer in my opinion its an awesome way to get Huge results with minimum meds. I use multiple methods personally but I believe the EQ can be tweeked to produce just as huge clouds as some of the big name overpriced competitors ask Mvapes!

I can't comment directly, as I've not used either of the mentioned units.... but my interest in and study of the Sublimator was what began my quest to modify the air path of the Arizer unit.

Thanks Man! :tup: Happy to hear you're enjoying the benefits of the mod as much as I am! (Great results, minimum meds.... And now I'm running out of ABV for cooking! Solution:Guess I just have to vape more?)

My hats off to Seek and Mvapes! What they have done with their Arizers units is awesome! :bowdown:

Agreed, the EQ is an amazingly versatile unit, that with a bit of tweaking can definitely generate some really nice clouds!!!! :science:

What size screens should I use for a snug fit on my Extreme Q cyclone bowl? I just ordered a 100ct. pack of 5/8" screens for my Glass Sherlock Vaporgenie, wondering if they would work fine or not.

IMO, no. Much like Arizer's other product, the Solo, the EQ limits how fast you can draw through the hose. The air path is blocked by several obstacles. There is a cable that connects two circuit boards, the fan used to fill the bags, and some plastic in the way.

Which was my next step in modding my EQ, opening up that air path. I had planned on applying Silicone to the circuit boards to isolate them from the air path and removing the plastic air vents on the bottom of the unit, so it was wide open. Maybe even removing the fan.

The Sub, LSV/SSV, and Cloud offer a much more open air path that makes milking a water pipe so effortless. This open air path allows for harder and faster draws that are denser in vapor because it penetrates your material more.

I would love to be proven wrong though. We need some videos DDave, :D. (and you need an Avatar)

I've had both - sold both.


And Tweak - the cloud can't be compared to the LSV or the Sub IMO. Neither the sub or LSV are boasted for air paths. In fact the LSV requires some technique to get clouds pouring out and the sub is just massively powerful with a vortex of heating drilling our meds through an atomizer. I sold it only for safety reasons - not the best when you have little ones running around.

The cloud however was is in FACT a wide open glass air path. That fucking thing is turn key and GO.......

The arizer would be closer to a volcano with whip ability. In fact when the q first came it was constantly being compared to the 700 volcano.

I have a old EQ from 2010, And I've noticed since getting new cyclone bowls and elbows that the original Cyclone bowl sits a little lower to the heater that the newer one I received from puffitup.

They're identical Ddave. It's most likely just a fluke - glass is blown by man and we make mistakes. Your gong or the cyclone could have been slightly off.

Just like with the cloud, I've used hydra tubes on different units and there was a slight variation. It happens dude.

The difference between the two cyclone bowls I have is visually obvious but it isn't anything too drastic. I would say by looking at the two side by side you would notice the newer is just slightly taller and bubbles out more in the middle of the cyclone piece. Also my older elbow piece sits a little bit lower into the cyclone bowl than the one that had came with the newer setup(whip,elbow,screens and cyclone bowl).

I suppose you would have to expect variants in the glass being hand blown, but performance wise I feel like my older setup is much more user friendly and allows me to vape faster and more efficiently. With the newer setup I have, the vapor never seemed as dense and it would take longer for me to finnish what I had in the elbow screen.


DDave, I could see about posting a photo of the two for comparison if you want.


It probably doesn't matter whether the glass-ware is new or old, Come to think of it I think even the two elbows that originally came with my unit had slight differences. The upper ridge/edge on the frosted part on the elbow, when going into the cyclone bowl will come to rest below the edge of the cyclone bowls top ridge. Where as the newer elbow I have has the ridge up above the cyclone bowl just a bit.

I really hate that paragraph ^ but its the only way I can think to explain it. Maybe these differences are too little to really matter, but for me I do favor one cyclone bowl & elbow over the other.

I knew it I do have one!!!!
That adapter is the truth. I have been using my EQ in my rotation after i got this adapter. its very satisfying upgrade especially for the few dollars it cost. Only problem, the guy we bought them from has none left. Maybe a good piece for PlanetVape to pick up on.

Id just go to my local glassblower and have him make it, Ill post pics of my new all glass setup it has Ddaves adapter with a choke and... well pics can describe better than I can theyll be up by tomorrow

I don't know if you've waded through the entire thread, I used a SSV wand instead of the elbow, worked quite well and would hold much more than the elbow screen and would probably work even better with your adapter. I would use the elbow screen to hold the contents in place while the SSV stock screen would prevent it from being sucked into the wand. You could watch the vapor flow through the wand and adjust your draw speed. This also allows for stirring for max extraction.

Also my SSV 18mm WPA fits a VXC cloud ELB. That would make a huge elbow pack.

I did, but at the time focus was on learning the ropes of the basics behind the tower. Thanks for bringing this back into the light as it looks a very promising addition to the arsenal! :ko: Will be looking for best price SSV wand soon!

Those look nice! :tup: Could these be used directly on top of a cyclone bowl or the F/F adapter? (I will research this later, but have to run an errand currently).

Does anybody know the tip dimensions on the Extreme's adapter? Is it a 5.5mm/2.5mm barrel tip?

Secondly, could someone please provide a link for the glass pieces you used to connect the hose to a bong? I don't have the luxury of a head shop that sells accessories like that in my area.
