Can someone please put some pics of the croc skin up. I want to see the actual production version. I'm thinking of switching to the stealth depending on the pattern. TIA

It's fantastic to see units getting out thanks DV for you hard work!! And a big thanks to Nigel for your first impressions! unfortunately I still have to wait until the pre orders are reopened but luckily I have my trustee Magic Flight to keep me company until then.

Not let's get some more reviews in and pictures posted lol.

Thanks for the quick review Nigel, I've been waiting for some real first hand experience before I order.

I'm finally ready to order nine I think, does anyone know If its faster to wait for da Vinci to open orders again or to just pre order from ezvape?

Any guesses on the next shipments, days/weeks?

I've already had to explain to a friend (especially the "skull-ripping B-load" friends of mine) that this is not a Florida spring break –– This is not 10 tequila shots lined up on the bar, but a fine 40-year tawny port that must be savored and sipped….

It is a device of "savoring." And really, if you are doing glass-on-glass, is that not apt?

Thanks very much, excellent review. I very much liked the above observation. IMO it would prevent a lot of complaining/dissatisfaction with new vapes if more guys would consider that up front?

I too am a 'sipper'. The binge drinkers are over there.......

My first initial review...

I had a couple of reservations at first..and they gave me pause. First the glass screen was broken in the unit upon arrival, and upon removing that broken piece, I realized the glass screen part is extremely thin glass, and will break very easily. These are not covered at all by Davinci, as I was very sorry to find out. Even one arriving broken apparently.

My second concern was a whistling noise I heard when I did a practice draw on it. It only appeared when the unit was latched closed. if there was a slight gap, it went away. This made me nervous, but i'm happy to report that after putting it through it's paces (burning off initial silicon smell, and using the first bowl) the whistle went away, and it draws like a champ!

For the folks that got them, are you doing a burn off by maxing the temp and letting it sit closed for 10 minutes? I don't want to mess this thing up within 15 minutes of getting it!

Looks like you have your own solution, but this is directed to others:

If you are hearing a whistle, you are drawing too hard. (Think vapelife will) Also might want to adjust the load for some air resistance/diffusion, but not to path-of-least resistance.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Sip that 40yo port and savor every sip.

Actually what I came to realize is that it whistles when it's not hot, as soon as it gets above 260 or so, it goes away.. I'm not a strong drawer, i'm all about slow and steady.

"frig off, Conky!"

That's what I plan on doing when I get mine tomorrow. Did the same with my Extreme Q and it worked very nicely.

Hmmm... Hadn't noticed the whistle in relation to temp on my end, but I'll look for it. Don't think I've tried it that low. :)

The more I play with it, the more I'm convinced this device is all about the airflow. One really needs to give the drawn air chance to heat, and big draws only flood the bowl w cool air.

So, is there a major difference in taste due to the all glass vapor path with the Ascent?

Ok I just tried some of my primo shatter in one of the jars and it was fantastic! The vapor was not "dab" thick but quite thick! I put in a piece about the size of a copper BB if not smaller. I cranked it right up to 430 (god this thing heats up fast). I hit it over 30-40 times (long slow draws) with great vapor on every hit! There's still over half of the oil left, I just couldn't hit it any longer. I had the lid off of the can the whole time. My only complaint I guess isn't really even a complaint but its noteworthy, the glass can clicks up and down with the suction of your draw.

On a side note: with herb: it works beautifully with a medium grind and decent pack. I like to start at 380 to start and work my way up. The new product smell is about gone at this point. Overall I like it a lot!

What are your thoughts on its size? From photos, it looks chunky, like an old cell phone. Is it something that feels comfortable in the pocket?

Do you (or anyone else for that matter) have any "liquid" extract? I'm curious how an AVB glycerin tincture will vape, being that it has a syrupy consistency. Just make sure you don't hold it upside-down!

Lol damn iPhone autocorrect. Wish I could afford to be that greedy

Is everyone getting that da Vinci silicone taste? Only reason I'm wanting this over the inh is taste...
Idk bout that, inhalater breaks down a lot.. I have yet to see a user report a broken ascent that needs to be replaced?? 1 of the very reasons why I am excited to get one soon.

Im positive the ascent taste better than the INH without even trying it lol.

@nigel @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd @Zorbak...what did you all think of the smell the vaporizer produces while in use? Also do any of you vape at lower temps? I noticed mine (demo unit) only really starts producing visible vapor after 375°f
Also let me know if you all can figure out where to put the screen...lol
Zorbak, did they tell you they wouldnt replace the stem? Mine cracked and I got a new one for free...

I had to replace my ascent after the first three weeks after what appeared to be a software issue...ijs

I edited this post to show that they did indeed help me with this problem.

I like the size. It's not that bulky really, it feels pretty thin.
