May I ask why you prefer the SSV over all other vapes, like the LSV or even the cloud? Is it the 24/7 capability?

I know a lot of users hate on whips, I don't mind them. My SSV tastes mighty fine, especially on lower temps.

If your SSV would ever fail, I would hope that 7th floor would donate you one, you deserve it Vitolo. :peace:
I will get one as well.
This will be a add to my collection.
Each one has it's goods points however I am so curious concerning the SSV!

I own an LSV, and use it but it is not on 24/7.
I like the SSV's style, and everything about it.. but do not need to go further than the 24/7 thing... SOLD!
I own many vapes.. and use them here and there.. but the SSV has always done just what I want.
I no longer use a Cloud. I did for a while, but it just was not for me.

I've been going through a bit too much herb lately and so I've been missing the mini-wand a lot.

The fact that it not only felt cheap but also broke very easily after being careful with it makes me not want to order one again, but on the other hand it's just 20 bucks (maybe not even, I kind of forget) and even if the second one breaks I could replace it.

I think I'm gonna need to invest in a Volcano soon. I love my SSV dearly but it's not the best social vape, and I can't really sit/lay down in bed with it. My friends have actually grown to fear the SSV. It's seen as a 'challenge' because for people who don't even smoke often it just rips them a brand new asshole after like two hits.

Of course, that's not to say that'll affect my SSV usage at all. Bags are cool and all but I like whip/vong much better :D

^THIS is why I'm ordering the Solo. I love my SSV but it's too much of a pain to move around all the time (especially set up with glass), so it ends up living on a single desk next to the computer. A great primary vape but I need something to bring to bed with me ;)

Yeah that is my issue as well. I'm usually the one vapetending too so I can't enjoy the time.

I've been contemplating a Solo. With it being portable I thought it would work great to pass around but I'm afraid it doesn't hit like the SSV.

Ah yes. I'm sure everyone with an SSV and friends who use it have experienced this. Serving as the vapetender. I've tried to just sit everyone down and teach them so I can just leave them to their own vaping but within 15 minutes like 2 people have blown into the element and/or combusted, so I have to clean the wand, clean the unit, change the water in the bub or bong.... and then I just say fuck it and decide to be the one and only grand wand master.

Super stoned, just thought of it this way: We are all wizards who use magic weed wands to get people high. Because like the wands. I really like the taste of kief in the SSV. I think one of my biggest problems with using so much weed is that I love the taste of vapor so much.

Well guys I use to be all about the efficiency of log vapes. but after using them for a few years I have amassed a large quantity of buds. So I figured why not get a kickassed vape to help dwindle my stash.
So thats why i came to this thread. but i am wondering which type will be best for me. The original, the GONG type which i understand is hands free or the spherical type?

Any uses of at least 2 of the diff types please feel free to reply with your preference and reason why.

I use the SGG (Spherical Ground Glass) with a hands-free adapter and it works wonderfully with the EQ (Extreme Q) screen mod. I can get enormous rips with minuscule amounts of material, so if conservation is a priority, I'd certainly recommend this route. However, if you'd like to save the up-front cost of the HF adapter then the GG does pretty much the same thing for less. I'm just not sure if the EQ screen mod works in a GG wand.

Still, everyone has their own personal preferences. Vitolo swears by a long standard wand. You'll just have to think about how you'd like to use the unit. There are plenty of videos available on Youtube and earlier in this thread. They should help you to decide. Regardless I think you'll be very happy with the rips from a new Surfer :)

Hey Tweak, was having a session earlier with a group using your screen mod, an unexpected big advantage is it speeds an otherwise very drawn out process up a great deal (I pack each person their own wand so it get's time consuming).
I do feel that the vapor felt a little hotter/harsher than with my usual, long wand. Have you experienced this at all?
Also struggled to get it out when I wanted to go back to normal after guests left, any tips?:ugh:

I'm thinking about getting the LSV. I LOVE my VAP2 for pure flavor, glass on glass, but I really, really like vaporbong'ing and I think the LSV with the WPA is a good setup.

Are FC discounts available to us from 7th. Floor?

Ataxian, just curious why you are thinking SSV over LSV? (Might be something I haven't considered?)

I started with the SGG and loved it. But I kept hearing this Vitolo guy talk about the standard so I had to try it. And I already owned the SSV GG wand from using it with my EQ so I bought the GG HC.

I love all 3 of them. I :love:my :ssv:.

The SGG offers the biggest bowl IMO, but each wand is different so ymmv. Easy to stir and easy to hold up to the heater cover because it will seal at any angle. Great flavor as the heater cover opening is so big that it vapes pretty evenly.

The GG wand is nice because its hands-free. Works great but you always have to remove to stir. If you really want a GG setup you might as well just get the DBV. I think I prefer the angle for a GG anyway, I'm always worried my GG will slide out. I made a 3" hose for mine, ran it straight to my bubbler.

Then the Standard. I've come around Vitolo,, is my favorite now. The hits are dense and it is the cheapest combo of them all so, buying a backup or two is easy on the wallet. And with my screen mod I can get consistent results w/o adjusting the heat.

With the standard HC you also have the option of using the VB mini wand for conservation or to finish off a bowl. Actually almost every wand there is will mate with the standard HC, so it is nice to have as a backup.

Edit: Didn't wanna double post.

Maybe try adjusting the heat a little lower. Its amazing how close you can get to the heater and get some vapor at low temps. Or try backing the screen off a tad, allow for a 1/4" or so gap.

Also struggled to get it out when I wanted to go back to normal after guests left, any tips?:ugh:

You are keeping the original screen in place correct? This prevents it from sliding too far in and getting wedged into the mariah. I use some shish kabobs skewers to move my screen. It's wood so its safer than metal on glass and they are so cheap. Cut them down to size you prefer, use one end to move the screen and the other end to stir your wand. I lose them all the time, don't even care I have plenty more, :D. You can even resharpen them on the sidewalk if needed.

While I can't speak for Ataxian, I had a similar SSV/LSV dilemma a bit ago. People were praising the LSV's optimization for use with water-tools so, having just bought a new Surfer, I was worried that the grass was greener on the Saber side. I contacted my retailer and they said they could give me a refund although, obviously given the nature of vaporizers, it would've been a chore to ship it back to them. Finally, with some advice from those who'd tried both, I decided to stick with the Surfer, as it's probably the better primary unit (given my vapor habits anyway). I know that some of us love the fact that you can leave it on 24/7 without it overheating. Some love the whip-option. Many love the customization. We love the fact that it's an absolute tank that we'll still be using years from now--a warhorse among vaporizers.

All that being said, I hope to grab an LSV at some point to extend my 7th Floor family. Seems you can't go wrong with their gear. :D

EDIT: Sorry, didn't want to double post either (and I know I'm sounding like a broken record) but need to say that I'm getting some CRAZY thick, white, clouds after using Tweak's EQ dome mod. Often still keep thinking that I've combusted the material and am wrong every time. I'll clean my glass and do a video when a little aesthetic enhancement that I've ordered for my SSV arrives. :)

BranFlakes, that's a very well thought out bit of reasoning there, my friend :) In fact, if I were sans my VAP2, I'd probably consider the SSV as well.

Since my primary use for the LSV will be to mate it with my Mobius Matrix Nano, in fact, I'd be ordering it with the WPA 14mm shorty (I think I want shorty?)

Thanks for the thoughts. They definitely helps me solidify my own decision to go with the LSV.

Looking forward to videos. I don't have access to top shelf medicine at my location so I often wonder how much vapor would be produced.

Yeah I get that feeling too, like I've thought I've combusted. Sometimes I don't even see any brown in my wand, just a lighter shade of green after a lung busting hit. I swear that I've gotten thicker hits from my SSV than I have from my Vape Xhale Cloud, light headness hits.

I keep thinking I sound like a broken record because I am so enthused by this mod and just want others to try it. I'm so glad you are having some success,. How is your resin on your wand looking?

Build-up certainly isn't as quick as when only using one screen. I'd have to pop the two screens out to check how they're doing though--and in fairness they look to be gathering quite a bit.

While I've predominantly used this mod with a bubbler setup, I imagine it'd be excellent for whip action--with reference to having 2 screens capturing particles. As I remember the taste was much stronger and fuller (and hotter) without the bubbler, I'll have to try it out again sometime.
