Discontinued Vapir NO2

Just gonna give some love for the NO2 since it's my first well known vaporizer. :peace: :peace:  :smug:

I assume they've solved all their problems or whatever by now because I couldn't be happier with my purchase lol. Bought a "New 2013" for $85 on eBay, and after a week or so of experimentation I've finally found all the sweet spots and got the rituals down haha.

Followed the directions on like page 57 or something of this thread and have since learned as I properly take care of the unit..

I never tried to "pre-bake" or whatever with it. I put in the battery, left the cap off letting it charge after getting for 12 hours with it "on" but no heat. I soaked the bendy main mouthpiece shaft in a bowl of really hot tap for 20 mins, then rinsed it off, wiped it down and let it air dry. Put on the X-Tip thang. After it reaches temperature and turns green, I take off the cap, load the herbs, then replace the cap. Then I slip on the bendy straw tip combo onto the black mouthpiece and start inhaling with might lol. By hit #2-3 its mega visible if you turn it up like I do, and much more efficient in my opinion.

You want a finer grind with this one for maximum stonage lol. I use a little plastic grinder I got with my chinese vapes. I left the screen in the bottom as it was originally and use one fat full scoop with the scoopy thing personally to get a general shape going.

If you only want like a few hits you probably need much less than a fat full scoop lol. Then I pack the herbs with the wooden stick things that come with it, very lightly to towards the bottom of the cylinder, taking care to not touch the hot walls of the chamber.

This unit makes some serious clouds if you do it right. I started around 360-375 but have now adjusted to my liking using 380-385 as the start off temperature haha, maybe a bump up to 389 if your grind didn't end up as great. Sometimes I drop down to 375-377 if it's too intense. It makes as big of a hit as some desktop-style units in my opinion! (Maybe I just have an efficient one?)

It gets me incredibly medicated and has temp. control like no other. I like to try to balance the temperature right between burning your chest and medicating the shit out oneself haha. Maybe soaking the mouthpiece did the trick, as from day 1, I never tasted any plastic or anything weird, just tasted/smelled like a quality vape should, a nice honey like scent and oil remaining on the tube and inside the mouthpiece (I've only been vaping reggie out of it lmao. I'm still quite high). Sometimes there's not really even as defined taste at all, but still huge clouds if you use it right

I've only ever used my shitty $30 chinese box ones or friends' vapes, so this is a gigantic leap forward in my vape arsenal, and cheap as well. This one actually works better while connected to the charger (heats up faster, seems more efficient). I can tell by taste when I've hit it too much, it will taste brown/burnt tasting and get a little harsher overall, and I will have hit the thing like 10-15+ times if done properly. I find the very light pack into the bottom of the chamber (more in the screen?) to be the most effective technique so far to increase efficiency.

When pouring out a bowl, I just shut off the heating unit and wait 'til its under 300 as I think Vitolo directed, and then open the cap and give it a few bangs on a desk lol. If that doesn't work, I loosen it slightly with the wooden stick and then proceed with the banging. Then I give the cap's screen a few quick brushes, replace the cap and let it continue powering down. Or, if I'm in the mood for moar, I reheat to my favorite temperature, then remove the cap again and load up another scoop XD Not sure if this is recommended though it works perfectly fine over here.

I use the brush to lightly bristle out the inner screen with the NO2 upside down every few bowls only after letting it get down to like 110 or so on the heat meter. Don't wanna get anything burnt in the chamber other than the herbs. That being said I also like to keep the whole inside area of the unit spotless and all the herbs pushed down past the top edge of the brass. Sometimes this means I can take 30 seconds or so with the cap off to get it all perfect.

I noticed if I store all the already vaped weed, that later on whenever run out and start the jonesing process, I can throw the browned weed pieces into a grinder, and if vaped right it will end up much more finer. This can either be made into bomb edibles or what I like to do, is revape it after chopping it thinner. I find turning it up to as high as 395 can get me high to da moon off this if I'm in a pinch, and provides at least a good few solid hits. You can then use the "extra-vaped" weed in edibles lol.

TL;DR,
This vape kicks ass if you use it properly in my opinion, the "2013" version has treated me righteously for a week or two now. Vape on :mmmm:

DAB-a-DAB I'll dooooo
Loaded up some Diamond OG & and Mint Cookies last night. Ooooo the flavor

You can also tap the side of the unit near the top while its upside down to let the herb fall out instead of banging (or lightly hitting) on a desk or hard surface. The herb will need a little stir to loosen things up at first.
I agree its a very good vape although there are better units out, but for the price its a steal now.
Never had a smell issue with it either. Just take care of it and your golden

my 2010 NO2 still runs well and still kicks ass daily!

Yeah, this really has to be one of the most durable portable vapes I've ever seen. Mine's taken more (accidental) abuse than you could imagine and it still runs like a champ. Mine's either a 2010 or 2011, I forget when I got it actually...

Mine's no longer with me though, I gave it to a friend in need a couple months back along with a box vape I got for free, he uses the NO2 daily. I don't see it giving up anytime soon either!

My biggest problem with the vapir was the metal bowl. The taste of the metal bowl from cold is not very noticeable at first but after a couple bowls in a row it is very bad. I could always taste it on days where my throat was feeling rough.

Does anyone think its possible to open one up and replace the bowl with a glass or ceramic one. I don't know how it looks on the inside and gave my last one away so I can't just open it and see.

My battery does not seem to be taking a charge anymore. It will look like its charging for a few minutes, than it stops until I wiggle the cord or unplug and plug it back in. It will show it is up to 2 bars, but will die within 2 min. off the charger. Will a new battery pack fix this? Is there any other way to fix this? On the battery pack there is a spot to plug in a phone charger(micro usb) what is that for?

It sounds like a new battery should do it . I turn my battery around when I use it plugged in . So if it works when plugged in with no battery then its time for a new one .

The spot on the battery is where you plug in an external battery charger from Vapir.
I know if you do a search on this thread there are some good links for NO2 batteries .

Good Luck and :peace:

How should i go about cleaning my no2? I haven't used it in a long time, now that i have my pax and my MFLB, but I'm thinking about maybe breaking it out again soon because of this thread.

clean top screen with 91% Iso..
clean oven dry...while cool with the brush.
If oven has residues on walls... take an Iso dipped q tip.. squeeze it out well and drag the q-tip up along the walls toward the opening... until you feel oven is not compromised with residue.
Top screen is only part that gets very dirty.

Thanks! I'll be trying this as soon as i get my hands on my no2 :)

So i took out my no2 today for the first time in a long time. Its been sitting outside for at least the last year (for reasons that were out of my control) and when i took it in i cleaned it and turned it on to notice it just has this really gross taste to it. Ive replaced the top screen and tried letting it sit at 400 degrees for like 5 minutes but it hasn't really helped.

That's a long time... Have you cleaned it with iso?
Very long time, i promise i usually treat my vapes much better haha. I tried doing what @Vitolo suggested but i tried not to use too much iso in the actual vape itself, as i was scared it would drip. I used a good amount of alcohol on the top though.

next step is to hold a vacuum cleaner nozzle to the open top.
suck there for a while, then vacuum from outside around the "grillwork" area...
It sounds like a bug laid eggs in there.
Another possibility is that the "elements" deteriorated something.

Turn the vape upside down and go to town on it with a q tip and iso. There's probably just a thick buildup of dust and pollen built up on the heating element and likely the chamber... maybe oxidation?

That's disgustingggggggg! Honestly though if there is any possibility that i could be vaping bug eggs i'm just putting this thing right back outside. It would be cool to bring my old no2 back to life but if not i'm satisfied with my pax and MFLB.

Hey guys, I've had my N02 for around 6 months now. I keep the screens and the brass chamber pretty clean but I started having air flow problems. Even without the screens in the device the draw seems like it is clogged. I cleaned the screens and top piece and they are not the issue. I've been trying to carefully take it apart but I can't seem to find a screw driver that will work with its screws. The screws almost seem stuck. Does anyone have experience taking the N02 apart that can help me out?

Maybe the holes in the bottom of the chamber are clogged you can poke 'em out with a paper clip.
Also I found sometimes on mine when the top is off and I draw through it and it seems fine , then when on the NO2 the draw is restricted , it may still need a pipe cleaner run through the top that's just my experience with clogs in mine . I never took it apart so I'm no help at all with that .

Good Luck . Hope it's back like new for you soon .

There really aren't any internal parts that can get clogged. As rude boy said, the restriction will be in the mouthpiece or the 4 holes in the bottom of the chamber.

The NO2 is a pain to disassemble, I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you absolutely must. There isn't anything to be cleaned by dissembling it and it just takes a Phillips head.

I already used a paper clip to poke the 4 holes and now their is no air flow. I think my only option is to open it but I see that it is a huge pain. I have a feeling that maybe using keif in it has something to do with the clog.

If you search the thread I think Vitolo has a video that shows you how to vacuum the NO2 out .
With pure kief those holes could still be clogged up .
do a search of this thread on "cleaning" or "Vacuum" and you'll find more tips .
The answers are already here somewhere ,The NO2 has been around a while .

Be sure that your top cover with the screen holder OFF is able to pass a pipe cleaner easily through (wet with ISO)
If that is not it...
Those holes at the bottom are not the most easy to poke with a paper clip!
My advise would be to turn unit upside down.
DONT use a paper clip or anything else that is blunt edged.
get the thinnest sewing needle you can find... and hold it securely in a
needlenosed plier...
go UP into the holes one at a time.
Enter with a stirring motion... poke prod.. stir...
do it to each, and then still upside down... raise the nozzle of a shop vac to that opening and suck as best you can.
I do not know how anything got in there.
My NO2 is well over 2 years old now and I have never removed that bottom screen, or cleaned other than with the included brush, and suction from my mouth.
Good luck.
I have successfully used the technique I described to clean many NO2s for community members.
