How do you vape in public?

Oh, the other day we were walking down the sidewalk in Olympia, and a couple of waiters/busboys from a restaurant were heading back inside, and we overheard "I've got White Widow here"... I looked over, and it looked like a Persei or Omicron in his hand.

Yup, gotta love vape pens. :)

There is a guy under one of the umbrellas that looks black & white, compared to everyone else in the photo.

I remember there were three Chinese buisness men that were speaking very loudly and as the Jack Harer kicked in it semed like they were aliens that were speaking an alien language, but only in my stoned state could I really tell it was an alien language. They were having some sort of a meeting, about there outerspace alien buisness I guess. They could read my mind and new I knew what they were up to but didnt care. I remember thinking they may have been observing me, seemed like they were from another dimension. Then I remember thinking Damn this is some great Sativa and combined with this caffien my fucking brain is racing. Is that the kind of monochrome observer you see?

That sound like a typical monochrome observer.

Not to be a killjoy to everything else happening in this thread but legal trouble is almost never worth vaping in public. Maybe it's just because I'm in Florida but I very rarely even carry cannabis outside my apartment. It's not that you're probably going to get caught, because you actually probably won't, it's just that it only takes getting caught once to have something on your record that you have to explain to future employers. Even ghosting every hit there's vapor from conduction in the vape that's going to give off a smell. An average person might not pick it up but a trained law enforcement officer might and they're the only people I worried about getting caught by in the first place.

Also Detonator not to imply that you don't know what you're doing but starbucks is a cop hot spot.

You are not being a kill joy, only realistic. It bothers the heck out of me that
one slip up, and I could seriously be out of work and thereby homeless.

I'm pissed that my generation couldn't get MJ federally legalized .

We were supposed to change the world; Now we can barely change our
depends diapers.

I don't even vape on my back patio. There is no back fence, and all the nosy neighbours can see me. You are always taking a risk vaping in public...so it just depends on how confident you are in your area, I guess. Some places are more lax than others, so everyones opinions are valid IMO.

In my case, I am not afraid of repercussions, as much as I don't want the hassle of complaints. I vape to relax and feel better, not stress out. So the most relaxing spot I know, is on my couch.

Go to a large wooded park that's not popular. Or on off days. I always liked smoking in the woods in North Cali

I can't smoke in my home as my ex-gf is usally there all the time, so my options are my cellar room where the smill kinda wanders to the hall or outside.

I started with the solo in beginning of 2012 and used it with the coke-cup first, later I ditched that shit and was about to be out with my solo for at least once a day while going to the grocery store and on the way back. Later I got a mighty and now do the same trick.
Basically I have been using my vapes outside for at least 500-1000 times, also with some "almost"-situations with the cops. tbh I would hate it if they'd take the vape at is has "trails of cannabis" on it and therefore could be as illegal as a basically empty ziploc - "ooh, you got like 0.005g in there, let's get some fines and do paperwork!"

I got some odd looks, one person wanted to try and said something like "is it weed?? after"
Another one wanted to invite me to a e-cig regulars meeting.

Recently I was going to a friend of mine that works in a bar, sat down with the mighty and the girl behind the desk says something like "Boy, you really have a smell, don't you?" I was thinking she meant me having not showered, but it was rather the heavily used mighty that was open in my pockets.

In Florida and Texas, I would be afraid of detection as well. Those state gov'ts seem to be hysterically anti-cannabis.

I am lucky to live in Oregon, but vaping publicly is illegal. I live in the country and just vape away from people when walking. I act as if it is an e-cig and do not vape too furtively.

Next step for cannabis activists in legal states should be asking that wherever one can smoke cigarettes, one can smoke cannabis, and if there are places where smoking tobacco is illegal but vaping it is legal, then vaping cannabis in those places should be okay as well.

To me oil is the way to go for that. I use a kiss dual coil on an evic tc mini and haven't had any issues. Anywhere that let's in ecig stuff doesn't look twice at it. I go to nhl games with it all the time.

I agree for the most part. Some venues, however, specifically ban the use of ecigs, like AT&T Park in SF. The ushers will be on you in no time if they spot even a wisp of vapor. In those situations, a quick trip to the men's room with a mini cron with a KISS cart or edibles might be the best option.

With all the vaporizing ecig style pens around, while using my Arizer Air I've gone for walks on the trail. I'm not obvious with it. I don't take a draw right when someone is walking by. Also I don't want to use my unit when children are close by. I don't want to infringe on someone else's rights.

Also when I'm on the beach with my Solo in a McDonald's cup is my fav way to vaporize when I'm walking. Often the dry sand is hard to walk on, I have arthritis in my feet. Using some cannabis helps that muscle cramping and pain.

I've smelled the scent of cannabis burning in parking lots before many times.

There's no smoking in the bars in my state. I notice they smoke at most of the casinos though. That could be an option with my AA. I don't go into casinos much myself, just if I'm staying at their hotel.

I have no problem using a vaporizer inside my hotel room.

I've posted this pic before. Where's the Solo?

Like many of you I’ve been following the Ascent thread, and I’m ready to cut the cord & get my first portable vape. But having no experience with a portable in a city where there were 39,218 arrests for MJ possession in 2012 (down from 50,000 in 2011!) I don’t want to be foolish & add myself to those statistics. So before I hit the street I’d like to get some advise.

How discreet are you be while vaping in public? Obviously the setting makes a difference. At a crowded concert or in a park? Probably not a problem. How about at an MLB-baseball or NFL-football game? Would you take it to a bathroom stall or just vape in your seat? In a car should be ok, but here in NYC we tend to walk or bike, so we’re out in the open. I don’t want to be stupid or unrealistic, thinking that because I’m not smoking I won’t be noticed.

So, do you have any tips for vaping in public places?

Can you share some of your experiences, either successful or not. Any rules of thumb, cautions, do’s or don’ts?

Hmm. Alright well first of all it will depend on which vaporizers you use in public. An mflb is a stealth masters greatest ally and I could probably vape with an mflb with police around without them noticing provided there are other people around.

I use an arizer solo and I have no problem just pulling it out and taking a draw and then putting it back into my pocket or hoodie front pocket. I imagine a pax 2 would be even easier to do this with.

Just try to hold in the vapor as long as you can so that the exhale is minimal! Good luck!

Oh btw. I remember a few times me and my brother brought a bag of vape into our backpacks and used it from inside the backpack hahaha

It is definitely all about confidence. I have openly hit oil pens in almost every public situation you can imagine. In the direct presence of police too! Never got any suspicion or trouble at all :)

Still, I find that these days, I just flat out avoid public venues.

If I can't use my medicine openly and without fear of trouble at a public venue, then fuck the venue, fuck their cover charges, doubly fuck their dress codes (ugh!) and fuck their overpriced drinks/food!

I'll dab at home with buddies, get better food delivered more cheaply, not listen to shitty music, not encounter inebriated strangers and not have the terms of my evening dictated by people who I fucking paid to be there just to top it off! ;)

Hell for the cost of what I used to spend on a night out on cover charges, drinking and using other drugs (before MMJ I used to self medicate with a lot of shit that made me really pay for it later! Yes, cannabis extracts were my exit drug, not a gateway drug!) - I'd just as soon save the cash, book a fancy 5 star hotel/serviced apartment for the night and have a dab fest with my friends! :D

I know many of you will be different of course, but this is my :2c:

With electrics I just go for it, try to be a bit discreet with the butane ones. A lot of meth smoking going on, if someone saw me twirling the Vapcap in the park im sure they'd jump to conclusions!
Otherwise just look like you're suposed to be doing it.

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
The smell of fear and body language are total tip offs. Getting to know the form factor of your vape also a major thing for hiding in plain sight. If someone saw you out of the corner of their eye taking a pull, would it look awkward or would you have that pinched face when pulling off it, like say a crack pipe?. Vapes that can be turned on with a single hand and lifted for a draw and placed back in a smooth gesture are good for portability. But The Arizer does look similar enough to a beverage cup shape. Take a sip off the vape and read the paper. Then take a sip of turkish coffee. Answer the cel phone. Another sip. Just another day poolside.

Knowing how long it takes to heat a device and looking that much more at ease while seeming fixated on something else when taking the draw, takes away that smell of fear and looking out of place. But if you are the type to have any panic attacks or close calls, then avoid stealth situations all together.
