around 35 watts works well for me...you are generally looking to get it hot enough so that it doesn't run down into the bowl. Enrico mentioned way back that heating it to red hot is too hot for dabs.

I agree with tweek, around 35 watts works wonders for me, I actually do dabs/herbs around the same temp, sometimes slightly higher for the dabs, no higher than 37 watts tho. I find that to get the milky consistency that I like, I would need to have the sub around the 34-37 watt range, (sometimes different outlets will have slight variances in wattage's) i use around 33-34 watts for a lighter tastier vapor like consistency and in my opinion more of a psychoactive effect. Around 35-37 watts for a thicker milky consistency with more of a sedative effect in my experience.

Thanks guys, I'll turn it up a couple of degrees next time I dodabdubitydoo. I seem to prefer it in the 33 watt area for flowers, will turn it up just a bit to 35 or so next time as it did drain down a bit.

I like it milky but I am also interested in re-claiming from my avb. One of the biggest issues I have in this area is simply forgetting to dump the load quickly...

The wattage is not universal - I use 25-28 watts for flowers and I get pretty fucked up.

I'm pretty sure if I took it up to 35 watts on my sub, I'd end up combusting.

It may not be universal, but it's a starting point. Most users are within the same ballpark, give or take certain variables.

The 35 watt range is still great for oils IMO.

I've got to get a kill a watt. What was the Canadian Tire version called again?

which screens do you guys use....it seems like the iolite screens would be the easiest to work with, as i plan on dumping the screen each bowl.

Hi everyone...
Seriously considering dropping some hard earned wonga on the sublimator.

Has anyone got the limited edition kit? I'm struggling with justifying the extra $250 for what seems like a plastic bong... although the whip looks really appealing.
Would be really interested in your thoughts on spending the additional $250 on the kit as opposed to getting the adapt-a-bong kit and then adding a glass piece - seems like PV are developing a sublimator x tube - a glass piece that will the catch the reclaim but no release date yet.
How does the plastic tube in the LE kit compare to a glass piece r.e. vapor taste? Am I over thinking wanting glass over plastic?
Also, is it a pain to reclaim the sublimate from the tube that holds the atomizer in the LE kit?

Thanks!

I'll say it again, and this is having not used the kit, but after making my ghetto version I would recommend the kit. The kits set this thing up for ease of use, which I think is important with this unit. My ghetto rig is just a cheap mimicking of what enrico has developed, and for $250 I think it is worth it.

I'm a le kit owner and I finally tried my sub in a glass piece that I borrowed from a friend, and honestly I like the taste much better out of the le kit. Its kinda shocking that I would prefer a dry plastic tube over nice peculated glass, but I think if you tried both side by side like i have, you will come to the same verdict. Seems like there's too much drag on the glass pieces ive tried soo far, it could be a big factor. For taste i would definitely have to give it to the le.

I have tried using regular mesh screens (ultra fine weave from PV) as well as the stock screen, and I think the stock screen works better simply because its thicker metal that heats up more than the mesh screens do, adding to the flash vape effect, as well as having larger holes for the air to push through. I noticed my hits are denser and more thoroughly toasted using the stock screen. As far as cleaning the screen goes, I just hold mine with some hemostats, and use a small blue flame lighter to torch off the build up. No need to toss them out, if Iso won't get them clean.

After having the Sublimator for a week I was easily able to collect and dab a few rips sublimate oil. Seem to be having issue with oil running down the Apollo. When one is dabbing does the oil goes inside the hole or the walls of the hole? Tried at 35 watts. The dripping was pretty minimal though and I took many huge rips. Could have been my technique.

Still using an ultra fine at bottom of atomizer and a concaved stock screen wedged slightly below the first visible ridge. The ultra fine screen helped keep my stuff extra clean, but had to be replaced today because it was sealed and gunned like nothing I've seen before. Probably could toss it into a bong and rip it.

I dont see the point of having a screen in the lower position, it just seems like something else that needs to get taken care of or will eventually clog. If you place your upper screen in the right spot there should be no need for the lower one. I have been using the ultra fine and dumping it every bowl. About 2/3 of the time I can drop it back in perfectly the other 1/3 I use my dabbing poker to get it in the right place.

PS. You people made me get a kill a watt, I thought I had my sub running well without it, but you people made me doubt my accuracy. Thanks though it was a huge pick up everyone who doesn't have one with their sub definitely should trust me, or should I say everyone in the forum haha.

The bottom screen does help keep your oil clean, especially if the screen flips, as some are not cut properly and some folks like to have them loose (like me). I took my bottom screen out, because it started clogging, but I am considering grabbing one of those basket type screens next.

Just was taking a few rips and have to say some of the thickest and potent vape rips ever. If some light weight was here they would be hurting. Every hit was a ringer. Full spectrum extraction is no joke. The Sublimator makes flower feel like concentrates and concentrates feel like serious medicine.

After using my sub almost exclusively since getting it, I have to say, the high is just not as satisfying on my other units.

Still room for improvement, but definitely a fun and effective device.

I really like my stock grill wedged in there, it doesn't come out when I dump so I can't lose it. I haven't cleaned it yet though, it's in there a little deep for torching so I will soak the whole thing in 99% to see if that does the trick. It's pretty gunked up but it works. And no particles are getting through this baby, no sirree!

I agree that the le kit is totally worth it, but I like having the glass too! I start my evening with the le (launchpad) tube, then finish it with the bong; I have found with my measurements I can consume exactly twice as much in a single hit; there is a bit of a hammer effect when I consume a "double" :freak:

As far as reclaiming sublimation goes, I am seriously looking forward to PV's upcoming creation. As it sits I do not get the hoped-for goop in the launchpad base, but there is some buildup in the entry tubes. Most of mine is in the atomizer, or seeping out of the threads and is hard to reclaim efficiently so I need to work on that. But the hits that I have tried are dabsolutely delicious :science:

I still like to finish the evening with the SSV sometimes instead of the sub/bong, that last hit after the final stir can be quite the nightcap.

@grokit Clean that damn screen! Mine was so gunked up that even after soaking in 99% ISO all night, I still had to take a razor blade to get all the shit off. It's worth the effort, though. ;) You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much better it hits after a little cleaning.

Yes I'm sure it will be awesome, it's just that I like it jammed in there and it wasn't easy to do!
But I will take your advice and break it down completely soon, perhaps the jammin' be getting easier

I had a hell of a time getting my screen out. It took me about 5 minutes banging away with a straightened coat hanger. But I finally got it.
