The paper ones take sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo looooooooooooooooooooong:(
I know, the first couple time I did it I just screwed it under the rim of a mason jar and held it upside down, after that I got the metal strainer so I could trim the filter and set it in there, my Pyrex pan has a handle I can tie the strainer to so it wont fall in. Now I just to my jar over and set it in there andi can walk away

Pic please....but I bet it still takes loooooooooooooooooooooong. I might rather eat sentiment and nasty stuff

Doesn't it take days to strain? I needed pics cause I couldn't picture what you did I do now. The jar holds the filter in place right?

Just for you @Dreamerr I did a quick mock up of my old & new method but I used my last coffee filter this morning so I just used paper towel to show you. I usually clean out my stems by filling them halfway with EC, shake until clean then pour it out into a mason jar, I save this up until it have a couple ounces worth before I evap it so I really don't have that much fluid to go through the filter. I usually takes less than 30 minutes for this much. Old:

This way I had to stand there & hold it for the entire time it was filtering. This is my new lazy way

Ooo, I didn't plan on hooking my Solo up to water but I may have to splurge on this cool little thing. It's like a smaller, more affordable version of a Cloud/HydraTube setup that I'd like to get eventually.

Just to clarify, if I buy one of these the only extra part that I'd have to buy along with it would be a 14mm GonG adaptor, right? What do ya'll reckon would work best with it, the regular PVHEGonG, Shorty, Turbo, or Shorty-Turbo? I think the regular one would be good but I don't own a PVHES or PVHEGonG so I'd like to hear some opinions from others, especially from those who use a PN WT with their Solo.

PVHES 4 hole GonG works great w/ PT WT mated to Solo. I had PV make mine a bit longer for more glass to grab. The tube works very well wet or dry.I did see another tube but much larger with a 18mm F/M on the end,it is 12 inches and built well for 100 bucks(not including ship). IMO for myself,it would be great @ home but i prefer the small tube because of its stealthiness for vap'n in kind of public(I cant really do public due to illegal state) outside maybe on a interstate rest center or at a park ,whilewalking around on a trail. For home use I have numerous bubbs and such, but for the great outdoors the little tube is great for my use,i think the 12 in version would be harder to carry around and IMO it would be a lot harder to be stealth with due to its size.

Hey, guys. I'm about to purchase a PVHES stem from planetvape and I was wondering if anyone could take some pics of the shorty and the regular pvhes stems to show their relative bowl sizes? It would be much appreciated! If anyone has any thoughts on shorty vs reg pvhes, I'd take that, too.

I'm on the fence w/ that idea of the shorty bowl, might just be me, but the regular bowl is small to begin with, I also think,if you really needed a smaller amount , the domed screen some of the vaporists around here use seems to make it have a tad less,I'm sure there are some that find the 20% reduction in contents applicable, but IMO I cant see it being that practical,:shrug:YMMV

I just tried putting a little dab of full melt hash sandwiched in beteween herb, with herb touching the heating chamber and it works better than I thought it would with the Solo, think I found something new to like about it.

I'll second this. Pick up a standard PVHES and some screens (locally or online). You can easily cut the standard bow size in half with a domed screen (a little more or less depending on the size of the screen used). Vaping with a friend or need a bigger dose? Simply pull the screen out and you're golden.

Thanks for all the replies, guys! I've decided I'll get a reg PVHES. Now I just have to wait for them to get restocked. :p

Since I'm asking about PVHES stems, could somebody explain what the turbo option does? I've read the description on planetvape and I don't really understand.

There's so many posts to go through .. Just a quick question.
Can the unit be used if it has not battery, but is plugged in?
Considering getting over the ascent now .. Any major differences?

No, you'll have to wait for it to charge until you can use it again. However, the battery life is so darn long and it charges so darn fast that I've never found it to be a problem.
There is an accessory available that allows you to use it while plugged in, but I don't believe it is worth it. Nevertheless, here it is: http://www.planetvape.ca/solo-vaporizer-power-adapter.html

Did you mean bubbler? Yeah, planetvape has an accessory here: http://www.planetvape.ca/pvhegong-high-efficiency-gong.html
You should take a look around planetvape. They have some cool addons for the Solo.

Not sure about your other question, though. :/
