Discontinued The Sublimator

When you say bent( concave ) titanium screen, are you referring to the stock grill?

If so I believe that they are made of stainless steel.

Nope, while I was waiting for extra screens from PV I ended up buying some titanium screens from a local smoke shop. They are curved perfectly and fit snug into the sub, but im not convinced on its performance.

Oh man.... has anyone filled the whole bowl with bubble hash into the sub yet? Ridiculously thick :ko:

One thing that I really like about the Sublimator is spending less total time inhaling vapors and reducing the total number of inhales throughout the day. I was spending up to 45 minutes inhaling 9 volcano bags. Now I am medicated on another level in a matter of minutes. Thanks Enrico, PV, and FC. Sublimated.

On second thought, the power never went out yesterday and the sub turned itself off after another overnight session so I think my timer may have the 24 hour off fail-safe after all. Has anybody with an earlier timer model confirmed that the "always-on" setting actually times out after 24 hours or does it stay on indefinitely until manually switched off? Just wondering if there's two different timers models floating around. We do seem to have discovered that there have been at least a couple of different heat sink strategies.

Is the bong in the picture this one? Definitely want to order one even without the SubBuddy.
Yes it is, just received them and will have photos soon.

PV...that rig looks sweet! How is it with concentrates? What I mean is, my current rig puts my head at an angle that doesn't allow me to see the Apollo unit while sucking, so I am working hard to get the dab in the hole when I am hitting it. Yours night have enough of a curved mouthpiece to where you can see well. How does it do with this?
Good question, but hard to answer. Definitely hard to use standing up unless you have it really high up on something, line of sight is good otherwise to see the Apollo. Some will depend on your height, desk height etc. which will effect the angle slightly of your view.

All timer models so far are all the same as are the Apollo units. Since production started until now all Apollo units are the same, no changes except for the timer.

Thanks for replying. Any idea why some models seem to max out drawing 63 watts while some max out at 45 watts? Surely you've noticed we've been comparing our kill-a-watt notes.

Not sure what causes the variances, we know our own Apollo on max can vary from 50-56 watts from just being observed at a few different locations. KAW also have variances. We are not electrical engineers so we don't know everything involved in generating a Wattage reading and the variances, but we can tell you there have been no changes to the Apollo except for the addition of the timer.

Thanks again. Interestingly (or not), I just maxxed mine out again and it stayed around 57 watts.

I think it may be somehow, "settling down".

Hey planetvape, is that sublimator dry-bong Enrico showed in a youtube still being worked on? I am interested in one of those, or at least a sub-buddy. I'm losing so much amber goodness to unscrapable parts of the bong!

Variation in max power consumption is most likely due to variation in volts. State volts and watts shown on your meter with the unit on max and lets see if there is a pattern.
Mine is 61 watts at 121 volts.

At 118-119v, I'm around 60-61 watts now.

Just replaced the screen yesterday since I had misplaced it and wow, what an improvement! Some of the holes were blocked which I didn't think made much of a difference but it did and now vapor production is nice and milky again. If they get clogged you may need to use a fine needle and poke each one out if ISO doesn't work, personally I think I'll just treat it as a disposable item and stock up on my next PV order.

These should be available within a month or so...Robert at PV told me that, when they come back from summer shut down they will soon have more sublimator tube options.

Sweet that's tomorrow hopefully their summer shutdown was to make sub stuff. That would make me very happy ;)

Damn! I finally get my money together and they are sold-out of the apollo adapt a bong! I have a Burner Glassworks tube with a male end. I do not know if it is a 14mm or 18 mm. I know I will have to get a female to female joint adapter, I am curious on how I measure it to tell what size I have and if it would be better to get the 14mm Atomizer when it becomes available? TIA

measure the diameter.... 14.4mm is approx 1/2", 18.8 is approx 3/4"

I'm starting to get the hang of the sublimation dabity-doos through the vortex intake ports.

Fun stuff :smug:
