Today my Grandmother called me and said she wanted me to get her cannabis, but in edible form. She is 78 years old and has been on opiates for over 10 years for arthritis and wants to use cannabis not to get rid of the pain, but to relax. My question is what edible is the most effective and doesn't use to much herb as money is an issue. I know this mainly depends on the strain you are using, which I am planning on using a strong Indica, but does the type of edible effect the performance of the medicine? Thanks ahead of time for all of the suggestions and answers, me and my Grandmother will greatly appreciate it!

Your granny will be so sensitive to it, at least initially, that you can just get get a strong Indica and make a regular batch of cookies or brownies. Then just dose small amounts until she is at a comfy level.

Edit: You could also try making a glycerine tincture that she can use to sweeten her tea or any other drinks.

Get an Indica with a high CBD ratio. The higher, the better, but start her off on very small amounts and increase as needed. Typically, the older one gets, the lower their tolerance becomes, all else being equal.

low dose capsules to get started would be my opinion,

or tweeks idea of a tincture for tea or coffee or under tongue.

start with a very low amount, don't want grandma to have bad effects and turn her off to it.

good luck, she sounds cool

If she's never done any cannabis before , i second a tincture, so you can titrate her dose. Nothings worse than edible overload, could ruin it for her . Whatever you do, start really slow , if she likes it, increase her dose slowly. Good Luck

IMO, whatever dose you're going to give her first, try even 1/2 that.

Do you have access to legit, medical dispensary cannabis pills or edibles?

That happens to be the date of the last post before caliwisp resurrected this thread yesterday. If he has email alerts turned on then he could be back. It definitely would be nice if he told us how things worked out.

I would suggest capsules because that is already a medium that she is probably used to. I think the more edible options could lead to a possible over dosage from over eating (if they happen to taste too good!) :p
