Me too. After a year of never having an issue with the screens, last week I cleaned both my Pax until they were shiny clean in the oven. Now the screens will not stay put in either Pax.

I even broke out a brand new unopened pack of screens to try, but those popped right out too. It's been a week of heavy use, and they pop out every time I empty the oven.

I never understood how people had a problem with it before, but now I get it.

Just wish I could fix it...

After i finish cleaning i just drop the screen in. Then turn it on and let it get up to temperature.

I think the screen needs to get hot enough so it expands. Then i usually just push the screen down with a Q-tip. Or let it cool down a little so you can push it down with your pinky.

Another thing that i think helps. I put the screen in upside down to bend it back the other way. I tried using it this way. But it wouldn't heat up right.

Yeah! What notches?

Shpooding Time.
That's what he's implying, and what I'm straight out saying, the Pax retails for $250, if you bought it for less, Ploom has no obligation to honor the warranty. Simple as that.
In hopefully less redundant news, I built a USB quick charger today without soldering or circuitry work that seems to be working well. I don't know what progress others have made at this, but this thread has gotten too painful to read through any significant portion of it. I'll share photos and info once I get an enclosure and do more testing.
ok, well theres no fucking way they're not going to honor a warranty just because it was purchase on sale. I will swiftly punch a puppy in the face if any more talk of the warranty is directed towards me.

There is only one way to find out if they will honor a warranty or not... (hint, it's not a magic 8 ball)

Well you must be right if you're threatening to punch puppies :goon:

But I would still like to see some evidence of your claims!

The ones that you shiney-cleaned off

Just tell Ploom that the notches seem defective; if you paid retail I bet they will replace it

Ummm, no.

There are no notches because there were no notches.

I didn't shiny clean anything off other than residue. A magic sponge on the tip of a Qtip isn't that powerful. The walls of the Pax oven are as smooth as a baby's bottom when new. Just walls, no notches.

Please post a pic of your notches.

As I said recently, I traded my pax away but may buy another one. Do you think that everyone that has stated in this thread that they have used this ridge to secure their screen successfully is being insincere?

If you don't have this ridge, your unit is either defective or it has been worn off somehow.

Does your screen stay where it's supposed to?

edit: here you go.

The indents on the sides must be for something.

Krinkle they have to be trolling us at this point. I am just gonna pretend these posts don't exist and let them all whip themselves into a frenzy over it. Hint. I got the headshop to knock $25 off the price. I am fully confident I have a warranty.

Yeah, what he said. I have no notches in my oven.

Look at Grokit's photos. If you look hard you can see them on the end There is a lil notch in the oven wall on either side that the screen pops into. Maybe it is a new thing. I have only had mine since may. I'd talk to Ploom about it. Maybe you will be getting a new one.

Whipped into a frenzy lol... I don't even have a pax anymore.
If anybody's being whipped into a frenzy it's you guys!

Manufacturers have long had the ability to restrict warranty coverage as leverage to support a no-discount policy, which keeps a product from becoming commoditized.

But if you lie to them and say that you got as a gift, they'll probably cover it.

Yeah I don't think I would qualify someone putting the text from the Ploom email here as "trolling". We call it posting pertinent information.

There is absolutely nothing to be upset about someone recounting their CS experience with Ploom

I looked at my Pax again with a magnifying scope; there is no notch on the walls of the oven that I can detect after careful inspection. I believe what you are seeing is the illusion of a notch that seems to show up when you place the screen in the oven; if you notice there are indentations on either end of the screen. When the screen is placed in the oven those indentations make it appear on looking inside that there are notches on the wall. Please confirm this if other people have the same view as I do about this issue.

You would not need a magnifying glass to see the notches. I will post pic later. Oven is not cashed!

I never looked for it, but I could definitely feel the screen click into place when I had mine.

grokit,

We're here to fuck shit up.
Still no notches. I've checked and then checked again. I've called the few people I know that own one and nobody has any type of notch in the oven wall either. Smooth walls all around. I need a clearer shot of this. If it's a new thing then I'll do without it. Mine works to well to send it in for a new one.

I have to pop the screen from the mouth piece side pretty much to get it out.

Will send you pic in a bit bro!

jeff,
It works great!
Thanks.

Hey guys, I saw a video online of a user using his Pax. To increase efficiency I saw the user bend a silver screen into a "U" shape and pack it into the oven along with the herbs.

The screens are similar to these: (http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Vap...1375834936&sr=8-23&keywords=vaporizer+screens)

Any Pax owner use a screen inside their oven?

The video can be seen here:

Thanks a bunch!
