I am not sure it is much to worry about. Anything above 35-40 watts is heading toward combustion. Perhaps PV or Enrico can chime in?
Yea mine maxs 60-62 watts. Its plugged into a brick surge protector an air conditioner was on but unplugged that still read same.
mmafighterthe25, those numbers don't seem correct, please make sure your meter is set to display Watts and not VA, the numbers you are quoting sound like VA. The wording on the KAW screen is very small and it is easy to have it set to display the wrong measurement.

About Screens
We have many customers who say that Vapir NO2 screens work very well in the Sublimator for them, they are kind of a fine mesh top hat design where the brim of the top hat helps to rest on the edge of the lip in the Sub. Would be interesting to hear more opinions on these.

My Sublimator maxed out at 60 watts the first week or so that I had it. Then it seemed to have "broken in" and the max dropped to mid 40s. So it's entirely possible that a unit is drawing 60 watts, from my experience.

I heard someone mention that they broke their Mobius with the Apollo. Could anyone elaborate on this? ive been looking to purchase the Mobius 60 mm stereo matrix piece and im hesitant to do so until I know more.

I LOOOVVEE my sublimator t-shirt btw

I broke the DI joint on my Moby 65B when I first got my Sub. Lesson learned for sure (DO NOT LEAVE THE ATOMIZER CONNECTED TO YOUR PIECE WHILE HEATING UP)! The expanding Teflon can and will cause your joint to crack/break off!

With that said...I still LOVE my SUB! That says something...

Cool I'm going to try that! So many good tips getting shared!

Mine also still maxes out at 60watts (just checked), if I crank it all the way. I just think some are running a bit hotter than others. I still try to keep my sweetspot around 34ish...

I am really happy I can dump some of my bubblehash crumbles into the bowl and hit it... works great! I've had a hard time finding a vape that works so well with bubble, without burning it, or not getting a good enough extraction. I'm tossing a few crumbles of hash into the bowl and getting a fat, tasty hit or two.

Very very very helpful information sticks thanks a lot man for real. So if you were to buy a wicked glass piece for this unit to go with a sub-buddy what would it be? would you wait on PV sub-specific bong yourself or do you have any glass for it you could recommend? I love my pre-sale edition but im always looking for new toys lol. And honestly the glass we have in Canada is awful, at least in Calgary. We get glass at least 6-12 months after it has already been out. Since ive come on this forum I feel like ive moved up so much in the world in terms of smoking, the hemp-store market is so limited.

I would just get a cheap dry tube that has a vertical downstem connection. I like to run all my vapes through water except the Sub and the VAP2...the Sub because it doesn't need it and the VAP2 because I don't like to lose the taste.

I think the most enjoyable way to hit the Sub is probably through that tube with the whip that Enrico has. The guy's been making and using this for years, so he definitely knows how to hit it most naturally.

Looks like the Lil'mona (Lev) I had repaired is heading my way. I am excited to try out the Sub on that beast of a piece of glass. I hope the repair went well too, been waiting since early June for it to arrive. I am curious to see how it handles wet and dry, and if it can be stable with the front weight of the Sub on it. Here's a pic of it as a reminder/teaser. Of course I'll have the "buddy" in line.

This is exactly what I wanna hear. Im running the pre-sale edition now with an upgraded tubing that was sent by planet vape (planet vape is amazing btw, above and beyond customer service all the time) and I fuckin love this thing. I always just look to see if theres better out there and this confirms that there may not be. Perfect. Thanks again for the information as always guy. I love this forum so much jesus Christ. My favourite thing to sit and read on all day everyday, im so stoked to be out of school tomorrow and get back subbin full time. I have 10 different strains Ive saved up this month too sub :D

update : video incoming 2morrow night. I am a week without smoke again. ill show off all these different buds and a little ether made honey :)

I have a beaker bong with the downstem not straight. I just turn the bong in the side position so the Sublimator is straight. I also use no water, it is way better without in my opinion.

Any tips for unscrewing the tube from the atomizer? I want to take them apart for cleaning and to clean the screen but I can't seem to unscrew it. For starters I forget which way to turn it though it doesn't seem to want to move at all.

Counter clockwise. You will probably need to heat it up a bit to get it to budge, those threads are tight.

And with all this talk about fluctuating wattage readings, are we all sure we are on the same voltages? North American wall power can fluctate between 110 - 126 volts, so the Sub could just be drawing more or less current based on what the wall voltage is at.

a simple way to remember which ways most things tighten is: "righty tighty, lefty loosey."

as for taking it apart - do it while the atomizer is still hot/warm. once it cools the resin in there sets like concrete! i slowly collect it up and put it in my hash pipe for a nice rip a little down the line.

you need oven mitts to do this. like the silicone type not your mom's fabric style...

hold the hotter, bigger piece with the mitt, and then using your other hand unscrew it to the left, or counter clockwise. use a 2nd mitt if the bottom piece it too warm also. once you got it open i use my ssv pick to scrap all the goodness out of there. I don't bother with the top piece, only the lower stem.

I'll quote my post again for people who missed it. If you have the original version of the sublimator, you're in luck. Instead of moving it clockwise, line up your original sublimator's handle with the atomizer on the left closest to the bong base. Then pressure it down and move the heating element to the right and repeat when it's loose enough to hand screw.

Heat does work but I seriously destroyed my atomizer because it was so stuck. There's a metal washer like inside the plastic that intruded out when I was seriously forcing it to turn loose, but it only happened because I didn't clean my atomizer like I'm suppose to. It was twisting the whole thing in my bong, so I can't really do my method with my 14mm atomizer bottom anymore. ):

epOvMmP.jpg

SUBCULTURE, CLEAN YOUR ATOMIZERS DAILY PLEASE!

Usually this method does not screw it up, but only suggestion is if you look at the bottom where the top of the threading is caked in hardened resin, use a vice and pliers.

Here is a tip from me to Sublimation nation in regards to "loose atomizer",

If you have the original or enail version, place your heating element into your atomizer, and while holding the atomizer handle, spin the heating element to the left while inserted into atomizer. Lift the heating element off and repeat until tighten. I'm going to post a picture from bird eye view and off the sublimator diagram. (Will look like shit because I suck @ drawing.)

Edit: better picture
INF9eOJ.jpg

MUST BE SECURED ONTO A FITTING HOLE. (Eg. Bong joint, sublimator, bubbler, whatever the atomizer fits.)

Reason why is because the plastic part has a seal to the sublimator or glass piece, while the handle and top part is free moving, the seal between the sublimator and the top part of atomizer makes a really good seal itself which the heating element can promote the movement between the pieces of atomizer.

And the reason why people is experiencing this is because the heating element is unscrewing it slowly if moved counter clockwise.

Takes like a second to tighten again

Hope this helps everyone!

I look at the problems the community sees in the sublimator and I try to show them how to fix with ease. Even though I did not create the product, I can offer some unofficial support and opinions that may help out a lot of people since I try to utilize it the best I can

I also had the washer come out the bottom of mine. it also cut me when I was trying to force it (like a papercut)

I clipped the exposed metal off and it hasn't bothered me ever since.

I think that's happening with mine as well. What is your plan Tommii?

I don't think it's a major problem. I just straighten it out using some weight. It tried to stick the edge of the washer thing into the plastic which tried to flip it up. So I had to vertically flip it so that the edge is lying upwards against the metal tube instead of resting it into the plastic.

My only suggestion is to straighten it out. You can still tighten and loosen using the method I use, but it won't be as stable since the plastic now pivots(might be only mine)

Just don't try to mend it with toxic crap

Never cut the metal, it's what holds your plastic in place. I have it at least 3pi/2 (75% circumference) wrapped around the metal tube/intruding out.

Don't cut it bro

i just shot a breakdown video that seriously took at least 3, maybe 4 sessions pasted together to get all the correct footage. i just got my 50th subscriber so i thought it was time to do a sub shoot.
after at least 5 flower hits, 3 dabs, and 3 combination hits (one w/kief) i am fuckin' shakin', twitchin', spinnin' and flying'. i feel like a noob, makes be wanna go wander the neighborhood in my kilt...
video has at least an hr. and a half to upload. post when it's done

I like your handle mod Bob, and had to copy it! :D I don't have them hooked together, but just bending it up like yours gets it out of the way much better and still functions just fine. Your are actually less likely to grab it too close to the hot atomizer with the handle bent. Thanks for the idea and great video!

I want to know where Enrico got that High Tek piece...I can't seem to find it online. Those looks great, Sat...you ok with having the sublimator eye level?

Have you found an answer to this? I want this High Tek piece! It must be mine! Where can I get this? -
Where!! Who do I need to tickle to buy this?

Thanks for the tips on unscrewing it. I played with it a bit more but no luck, twisting the heating unit doesn't turn the atty on mine as it's a bit curved. I did pick up a silicon oven mitt and silicon grip so I'll try that next time I cool down my unit.

I actually got the oven mitt as a makeshift travel case, just invert it and you have a relatively safe way to transport it in your bag without everything else melting. I was using a towel before but this feels safer and I'll maybe wrap a towel over it just in case. Anybody have any better ideas for carry cases while the unit is still warm/hot? Kinda a pain taking it to a friend's place when it takes 20-30 minutes to cool off before leaving home and coming back.
