Hey, guys, where are you getting version 2.2s? Being color blind the red/green LED is useless to me and they want too much to upgrade my 2.1 so I'm thinking replacing it.

So, please, where did you get the 2.2 and at what price?

TIA

OF

I got mine on Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QUXKH4/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details

It was 169.00 2 months ago from this seller.

Thanks very much. For sure stuff changes there, a week or so two back that very vendor had a slightly different ad that said V2.1 for a slightly cheaper price. Looks like we've been 'upgraded' a bit.

Price is good, and Amazon is a good outfit IMO. Now if the guy checking my 2.1 out makes up his mind......

I ordered the JW Fusion 500 aquarium pump that I was talking about in my previous post. It cost about $12.50 on Amazon and should be here on Tuesday, I will let you all know how it works and also how it compares to my current pump which is a Tetra 60.

Thanks to the help and advice of fellow Forum Members I've just ordered a V2.2 unit to replace my 2.1. Wanting the new LED update I sold my 2.1 to a friend at 'good guy prices'.

However, I just noticed that the replacement crucibles are "for V2.1 only":
http://herbalaire.com/shop.htm
https://www.vaporstore.com/proddetail.php?prod=HA-Crucibles4pak&cat=12

Does anyone know what's up with this? What does the 2.2 use instead? Have I just screwed myself up and can't get replacements for the 2.2???

TIA

Edit: I just got the following response from my email to the maker:
"All H 2.x models have interchangeable parts. Our website is obviously out of date and will be changed to reflect this."

So now we all know?

Glad to hear they are planning to update the website because it is grossly out of date. I wish HerbalAire did a better job in promoting their product, as it is my opinion that the HA is an extremely under-rated vaporizer that is a victim of poor marketing and perhaps poor management.

Just look at how many years the HerbalAire has been out, and then look at how many pages this thread is up to...28 pages in a little over a 3 years...that is just pathetic for a vaporizer of such outstanding caliber. I mean just look at my unit, it is four years old and it still works as well as the day I bought it, not to mention I have never had to buy spare parts because of something breaking...that alone should speak of the quality of the unit.

I'm most likely picking up an HA soon. I'll know in a little over a day if I won. I can't wait simply to add bags to my options. I'll have every style of vaping covered at home if/when I get this. I guess it's time to read all 28 pages.

Just wanted to say that i've owned a HA 2.2 since December and I love this thing! :D It's so efficient and easy to use that even though I have and use several other vapes I find myself reaching for the HA more than any of the others. It's basically maintenance free and although I've dropped it many many times already it still continues to perform wonderfully!

My current favorite way to use it is w/a Solo 14mm Gong stem and a relatively cheap doubleBubbler. It give the easiest clouds of all my vapes and goes for rip after rip from a single small Solo sized bowl!

I also use it direct-draw w/ both the traditional Teflon mouthpiece by itself and/or w/a glass MFLB stem and also w/the Solo bent 4-hole stem/bowl as well.

I haven't used it w/pump and bags yet but I'm thinking of using the pump to fill one of my mid-sized glass pieces repeatedly and see how that goes.... :brow: m

Kudos to HA for such an excellent piece of kit!

I will likely be running mine ONLY bags since that is the main reason for getting one.

That is your main reason, from reading through this thread and talking to other So-Cal owners, it would seem that there's a fair share of us using it as a direct-draw and vapoBonging/Bubbling vape

I myself have never used bags as I've never found a reason or the need but it seems the HA's bag option was a secondary consideration in the design of this vape :2c:

with the right pump and my mods stated before the HA blows bags that are Faster, tastier, denser, then all other vapes at 365 degrees. Even better I own the 2.2 and im sure it runs hotter than 2.1 since I can use 340 to 350 and still get very dense bags.

I use my ha to blow bags that I then empty with my water bong.
this creates even hits and almost no drag at the bong.

I originally bought my HA for its ability to fill bags as well, but quickly fell in love with its whip and vaporbong abilities. You won't be disappointed by the bags, but I believe you will be pleasantly surprised by the HA's versatility once you get it in your hands and start using it.

The unit didn't used to come with a whip kit, IIRC. The pump and little jets of air are also designed with bags in mind, from what I gather reading this thread. I also hear it can take ABV from the Volcano and get more out of it, too, so bags are definitely a strong point with the vape, if not its intended primary function. :peace:

I am jealous of all the people who figured out what sizes to drill and what tubing to fit. That modification will probably be the first thing I do when I get one of these, especially since I believe a member here said they would warranty the parts that mess up if you somehow destroy a piece with a drill.

That is cute, a warrenty  ...I hope you are kidding, because when you modify something the result, good or bad is on you.

That being said let me know if you have any questions regarding any HA mods, I'd be happy to help make sure you don't destroy your piece :peace: (although I bought an extra teflon mouthpiece a month ago and it only cost $8.99 so it wouldn't be a huge loss)

BTW: On the subject of the pump I ordered, the JW fusion 500, it turned out to be a complete disappointment. While it is quieter then my Tetra 60, it is also much less powerful even though they are competing models (at full power it took 8.5 minutes to fill up the same reynolds turkey bag that my Tetra fills in 4 minutes)...this is the first time Amazon reviews have ever steered me wrong, luckily they are accepting my return so that I can try out a larger model.

I meant MY only reason sorry. I'd use the direct draw too if I didn't already have a home vape setup for that that I love.

I don't know exactly who to credit for this mod, I believe it goes to CDS.
If this was covered already, please forgive...
Using a cutdown Solo stem instead of the Teflon fitting is the best mod
for me. The stem fits into the crucible, and a small band of silicon around
the stem keeps the whole assembly seated well into the HA.
I got my HA via trade, and I am apeshit over it.....just picked up an AV
to use with. Hope the quality issue, isn't one. Thanks Charlie!!!!

i have heard that a few people really like this mod. i'm sure that if direct draw was your preferred method then the solo stem mod might be worht it. i have tried it a few times but i have never been satisfied with it. as far as i am concerned, if i feel like a direct draw session then i will simply use the solo instead. i only use my ha in vapebong mode, i find it way easier to manipulate the ha to mate with my assorted waterpipes with the stock mouthpiece in place.

Yes, I agree with you. Direct draw goes to the solo. For use with water though, the
solo stem mod provides the hallowed and much sought after "all glass path". Just a
silicon whip connecting the HA to the H20. I am currently using a showerhead bub,
and look forward to trying out the autofill method on a larger water piece.

Isn't the "all glass path" irrelevant on the solo because the air path goes right over the electronics and guts if I am correct? Isn't it an all glass VAPOR path, but a relatively busy air path?

Yes Dark, on the solo its not "all glass". The degree to which it passes over the electronics, etc.
I am not certain. I remember all the crap you went through with your solo tour....To be sure,
it is not "air path" rather vapor path as well with the HA. Thanks for clarifying.

I don't think it has anything to do with my experiences I was just curious if people noted the difference. I'm not saying that all glass air path is necessary, but it seems missleading to me.

Looks like I'll be filling bags early next week :D

I almost definitely won't be using the direct draw methods much if at all, but I am very excited to have smooth cool vapor from bags.

How long would you say you can let the bags sit and cool before the vapor starts to get shitty?

Haha Egzoset!

I was hoping you guys would be here to tell me just that. What happens if I let the bags sit too long? Stale taste? Loss of potency?

How long do you HA users let them sit at a maximum...and why.

I didn't know of any "shitty" issues with leaving the vapor in the bags other than it can't be stored for days without loosing potency and feeling stale.

Can I let it sit for 10 minutes and not notice any changes?

@darkrom: I sometimes let my bag sit around for 30 minutes before I end up finishing it. I fill up a bag (reynolds turkey oven bag), put on a tv show and toke from the bag throughout the show. What I notice happening after a while is the vapor tends to get less dense as it sits in the bag, perhaps because the vapor ends up sticking to the bag as it sits longer and longer. I would say 30 minutes is the max to have vapor sitting around in a bag, 10 minutes is no problem.

Vapor also does get staler/more tasteless as it sits around as well. Although I don't see how this is a issue as when you use bags you already lose most of the flavor as opposed to using a whip or something similar.
