Can you see the coil through the mouthpiece? I have one of these Dabbler/Skillet style atomizers, and with the drip tip I'm using, I can see straight through to the coil. This is generally how I know (aside from taste) that I need to reload. After 3-4 hits (per dab), the oil is mostly 'cooked off' and the coil is exposed and glowing.

I don't normally load it as full as you do (because I have other carts for loading more at once), so I'm just wondering if a.) you can see the coil and b.) if so, how many hits before the coil glow is visible.

Did that make sense? It did in my brain before typing it out.

I've never tried peeking through the mouthpiece, but the hole is fairly small. I was just jamming my chamber full of wax and was able to puff away without refilling for the afternoon. Unfortunately, attempting to fish out some wax from under the coil was also what caused me to foolishly break it...

Yes. I will look when i use it next time (in September). I've never looked before.

I'm paranoid about breaking it like that since right now I have only one heater. I would have just held it upside down and heated it, pretty sure that would have worked.

In hindsight, holding upside down would of been best...I just got so cozy scraping up the wax and dabbing it back on the coil, I never considered how delicate it really was ..

Cool tip about seeing the coil down the mouth piece, thanks that should help save some threading from all the pop it open just to look.
I can't accurately comment on the number of hits due to diy abv oil but I'm getting at least 3 good fulfilling hits from a coil sized log of said abv shatter.

I'm at the hospital (Not for myself but thanks) and this little thing has been a dream to have for when it's time. I cant buy oil but looks I'll be doing oil runs just to have fuel for this thing, well worth it in my mind. I have to admit, my first impression was "I got beat and just got sold an ecig" but after really using it the whole little kit is THE SHIT, it could be silicone lined but ya know. I just kept a little log rolled up in some pan liner but looking for something else, should have some nogoo in the mail today maybe thats what I'm looking for.

NoGoo seems like a NoBrainer for a device like this. Hopefully VB/VH will include something similar with future purchases instead of the grinder.

Obviously it's less than almost anything else but with a pen vape I like to carry it Everywhere so there are times in a group when I catch a whiff of oil and get self conscious. I tried a little bit of tape covering the MP hole and now it's 100% smell free! You only smell oil if you open it up or remove the tape.

I don't think non-vapers are familiar with the smell. I also don't think the smell travels very far; it's probably in your cone of scent, but not others.

This IS my happy face..
Well after several weeks of abuse, my Dabbler heater was filthy and loaded with crap...There was a solid ash cocoon surrounding the coil....I soaked it in Everclear....and it was still caked..I took a small brush and kept "brushing" the coil with Everclear (gently) until I could actually see part of the coil...Well after several "cleaning cycles" this puppy is hitting as good as new...and I can see the whole coil again..

Hmm the brush idea seems great, im going to try that next time i try cleaning it. Ive basically just been running mine till its dry and scraping it when its ashy with a toothpick. Ive gotten decent results but the taste only lasts for a hit or 2

I never noticed the smell... bu the case does come in handy to keep the smell away... :rockon:

So just got my second dabbler, first one i gave away to share the love :cheers: and my new one i noticed that the hits are shorter but when i had my other one the dabs lasted way longer.. i think that the glass fibers soaked my dabs an got more puffs out of it... love the fresh clean taste VS ur normal Wraps.. and my battery not to mention is friggin awesome i charged it once and i didnt have to charge it again for almost 3 months on a daily usage.. i gotta say Im gaga over my Dabbler :mmmm:

Are you talking about smell from the noGoo or smell from the dabbler? The tape and MP thing kinda threw me off.

If your talking about nogoo, mine came with a slight smell but theres no way i Can smell the oil with the lid on it.


If your talking about the dabbler, I alway carry mine in the case when not in Use so i dont really notice any smell from that either. I also try and keep the mouthpiece and cone part as clean as I can though

I noticed a slight dirty pipe smell with nose right to it, its never been cleaned so its kinda expected.
3 mounths?????? I juiced mine in like 3 days in the pital.

Yeah sorry guys I meant the Dabbler/oil smell! I know it's nowhere near as smelly as flowers but because it doesn't smell that bad I like to take mine everywhere. I have nice smelling oil and even if its just down in my pocket I can get a whiff of oil every now and then...

But I found if you screw the heater down, preload with oil and then screw the cover on so it seals with the o-ring the smell is only evident from the mouthpiece. Simply put a bit of tape over the mouthpiece hole and it really is 100% smell free!

I haven't been showing this little gem as much love as I should due to being "flower-rich but concentrate poor". Just re-upped today, got some killa flowers fo sho, buuuut, I also got some really, really, fucking amazing VSOG shatter. Oh, dear lord, let me tell ya...it's reaaaaal goooood and tastes just like a bit of OG heaven....that'd be fuuunky, staaanky, diesely, piney, lemon heaven, to be precise :mmmm:. Thank you to my fine dispensary...and the fine folks at VaporBros for adding NOTHING, taste-wise, to this OG symphony. I haven't had shatter in like forever, so this is a real treat.

This really is a sweet little unit.

My dabbler is in my pocket 24/7. Never get any looks when I use it either. My only complaint is that I just saw the same style case on the Gpen website, only it has an extra notch to hold a concentrate jar. Im assuming the dabbler wont fit in that case but it sure would be awesome if it did!

YES! Be careful with the delicate coil.

News: Dabbler's maker just stepped up the wire gage and changed the material to [waiting for his approval to say what it is then i will edit it into here], which is a crazy strong metal.

And yes, hit the button and tilt Dabbler upside down to clean under the coil. You can clear the whole bowl by tilting. If the old oil tastes bad, let it steam into the room and know that reality says vapor pens consume a little bit of oil in exchange for the extreme portability you're getting. Buy the 91% (or 99% if you dare) alcohol to soak your heater. Beware that lesser alcohol will corrode contacts, so it's not recommended.

Those things are rad. I'd love to. VW is already including little containers along with Dabblers. Perhaps if we could charge a bit more, or reduce cost somehow, we could include this.

Coming from the VB vaporizer I have airflow issues with all vapor pens including Dabbler, so I tend to remove the mouthpiece completely. I can see my coil just fine :) and recommend this. I even toss stuff down onto the heater from the top without having to unscrew the cone. If you do this just keep your mouthpiece handy to cap it off or the inside sticky surfaces will start collecting pocket lint. :science:

i am very close to joining the dabbler family, but this has left me with some questions.

when you say changed the material to a crazy strong metal do you mean the wick material? instead of glass it will be metal?

and are these new carts available now? will i have to wait so my order contains the new improved cart? i was going to order today.
