Tweek's Lou Reed post yesterday had me thinking back to the first time I saw him at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit. Great venue... and a great time in Detroit. Anyway, that got me thinking to other acts I had seen there; Joplin, Procol Harem, Jeff Beck, Zepplin, the Dead, god... the list goes on and on. But by far, my favorite show was Hendrix.

That led me to this old clip that I thought was cool.. it's his demo for Electric Ladyland. Sorry for the history lesson... but you young folk need the knowledge about where some of this stuff started. :D

I'm glad to hear that. You would have loved it then. From there came the Eastown and several other venues. But the oddest place I ever saw a band was in the gymnasium of Southfield High School. The Who.

And then there was the time I thought I was going to see Mike Bloomfield and Al Cooper right after their album Super Sessions dropped at the State Fair. Dropped some LSD and much to my surprise, it wasn't Al Cooper after all.....

I left covered in chicken feathers and a changed woman....

you are right, i definitely woulda dug it then, i'm a 90's child who many said woulda been a 60's child, but needed the punk to add the anger flava.

i probly would ended up shot at a rally. glad i didn't have to watch the bubble burst.

This post in honor of my new Snow Dog companion who I plucked from a shelter just last week. Someone could abandon such a sweet and pure puppy? A lost soul now returned to his rightful master is all I can fathom :hmm:

And thanks to the wise counsel of a close friend and loving animal trainer, his little problems melting away ever so rapidly.

By-Tor and the Snow Dog
Square for battle, let the fray begin.
[...listening intently to the battle ]
The battle's over and the dust is clearing
Disciples of the Snow Dog sound the knell
Rejoicing echoes as the dawn is nearing
By-Tor in defeat retreats to Hell

Snow Dog is victorious
The land of the Overworld is saved again!
