shooting videos that are obviously for FUN ...

I was thinking about using a small oxygen tank and pushing pure O2 through the bottom of the Cloud for an oxygen vapor hit :) With a little regulator and you could push O2 through at any speed and fill bags or condition through a water pipe/hydratube.

Potentially dangerous, think Apollo 1 fire back in the day, but it's for FUN and fun can't be had without some risk :)

p.s. Boblaw, can you hook up the volcano, the sub, and a cloud (or two), at the same time?! Now that would be cool!

I was thinking about taking an Eagle when I got it, and stacking all three generations of vapexhale products on top of one another---then hitting that ! :)

i guess i am just trying to say, please receive with the intent intended, then feel free to rip it up logistically.

i guess if you hadn't started off in a vein that was suggesting this as a daily driver and that all possible problems needed to be addressed, i wouldn't so have felt bent about it.
not that you have any responsibility for my feelings.

since others have tried it and more so were doing so, it makes sense to throw ur concerns in there.
sorry for the over-reaction

If you payed the $150 for the cloud upgrade but never sent your cloud in to be changed for a cloud plus, then for $100 you can get the nimbus through the trade in program. If you already have a cloud plus then its $250 for the trade in program and your cloud plus warranty is voided.

I did not hear about the voided waranty. I have a broken cloud at home I purshased a couple months ago. If I buy the trade-in eagle I wont get waranty on my cloud? Or on future repair?

lol, yea buddy, BOOM! FUN! at the least use a short circuit protector!

anyway, as to the multiple hook-up, if i had the gear i'd be down to try, but
a) sold original cloud in anticipation of eagle
b) broke my cloudbuddy yesterday (booo)
so
c) do it for me and shoot video!

am pretty sure someone did a sub and cloud video over in the sub thread. dug it!

No...He said, "your old warranty on the previous machine goes away." This means, no warranty on your old cloud/plus, etc, just a warranty on the eagle. ;) You can still get old Cloud units fixed, but it's not cost effective to VXL at all, so they are best off focussing on shifting warranties to new units, and away from the old ones...You'll pay a bit, and wait a little bit, to get a ticker/plus Cloud fixed.

if haze is correct, couldn't find post from vxl

that thread is ridiculous!

edit: So when I use shatter with flowers and turn up the cloud too high and hit too long, it combusts--violently. The first time this happened I was literally like "holy shit!" I didn't hit it because it seemed to taste awful and I was just a pussy and scared.

Is that about the same as using a nail? Okay to hit? (even it was I don't think i would--too scary and made by bong dirty as all hell, like instantly... )

If it combusts just stop and clean instantly. All you can really do. Although the cloud should not be combusting at all? How tight did you pack it? How dirty was your ELB? There are alot of factos that could come into play.

I am in the same situation. I hear you can also go a step further and do the 350 perk and still retain your warranty on the cloud +. I am leaning towards this at the moment, as I don't see it worth it to have the cloud + go to waste. You can also trade in your broken cloud for 50$ store credit.

I don't know how much it would cost for you to have your cloud+ fixed without the warranty though, by the way things are I would assume it would be roughly around 100 dollars anyway. Though they did say I believe that they would make repairs cheaper, but that may be just for the eagle.

It's repeatable... add a pinch of flowers in ELB (clean, dirty, or otherwise), add piece of shatter (maybe I add a larger piece :) ), add a pinch of flowers.... vape a cloud + at 4 - 5 (pm) on the dial for a little longer than usual, and it will combust... in kind of explosive fashion, instantly.

Doesn't bother me 'cause I am more of flowers guy, but i was just curious if anyone would actually inhale that smoke.. I didn't and I guess wouldn't... kinda over combustion techniques..

stopping and cleaning instantly was my first inclination... i was amazed at how dirty a few seconds of combustion will make a bong under those circumstances.. The ELB came clean with 420 cleaner soak, but it is discolored from the experience.

Fixed ;)

In some themes is imposible to see grey letters

I thought it was a coded and secret message, which only could be read if you knew to highlight it :)

Unlikely but if we have budget magically appear, we have let event promoters know that we might be a late entrant to defend our title!

definitely a Dave Matthews concert the week before... just saying! And, if still a no go with that added information, I am sure we could find a surrogate, one time representative, for vapexhale for that event ;)

The less expensive cost for repairs applies to the Eagle, not the Cloud. The Cloud was simply not designed for serviceability; the Plus was not a re-design as is the Eagle. A main reason why I did not proceed with my Plus upgrade, is that with a 2-yr warranty that unit is going to become increasingly costly for VXL to maintain. It makes smart business sense for VXL to provide incentives to upgrade to the Eagle; in the long-run it is better for customer satisfaction and will cost less. VXL will no doubt honor its Cloud warranty commitments, but there could be annoyances like wait times. And a year+ from now I would expect a non-warranty repair to be prohibitive.

This concerns me. If I had a Cano and wanted to "BLASPHEMY" with it I wouldn't heat the cano up and definitely wouldn't load the cano up! That must be terrible for the poor Cloud. It is supposedto get input of cold air, not ~200°C vapor. The bottom part of the tube doesn't get dirty or hot during normal usage. Getting it hot artificially (blowing into the male joint, sucking on the input or blowing a hot air from another vape into the input) could potentially hurt the unit. If you load the cano, you are blowing vapors into the Cloud air input and heater - mesing them up.

I think this could only benefit research. Imagine putting an empty heated Cloud on the volcano and blow a bag. It would imo be a perfect test of that latest "atomization" theory. They say it happens when you force the vapor through a small restriction that is hotter than the vapor itself. The heated bamboo is exactly that thing - even three times in a row. So if someone want to take the risk and then clean the unit, one can do try for the sake of science.

Other ways to test this would include blowing a bag, presing it on a Cloud input and suck or just do everything directly...

Beautiful video.
I would use less water when using ice or be very careful about the water level. This is an old-school tube. There is no umbrella preventing water getting into the Cloud.
Two ice-cube can raise the level several centimeters after they fully melt.
Also trees and circs work best when hit vertically, tilting them dampens the diffusion and adds some drag. I could see only half of the tree was working on some hits.

Hmm you may have a point, things did get really hot.. and instead of getting multiple bags we ended up with just one fat bag and both the volcano and the cloud had completely vaped what was inside!
Yeah the icecubes melting was something i was keeping track of. Though honestly you can fill that thing half way up the tree perc and there really is not much issue as long as you keep track of the icecubes raising the water level. And yeah i should probably mention now that the person in that video wasn't me. I was the one filming. I'm well aware you have to hit it vertically and i kept trying to get him to do that. It's really frustrating cause all my friends do it with every single piece i have and it always ends up with them not getting the most that the percs have to offer. Worst time was when another friend did an 0.1 dab on my mobius reti and had the water so tilted that it was pretty much a dry hit.

But yeah i'm sorry if i'm promoting something that may damage the cloud, i really had no idea. Though i must agree with Bob Loblaw this isn't something i'd be doing all the time. It was just a 1 off thing and i may do it again for a special occasion. You've kinda sketched me out a bit saying it could damage the cloud :/.
I'm kinda confused as to how it would. Personally i'm amused that the post i made has sparked about a page worth online debating XD!

But yeah. In the end we're just having fun. Peace. :chill::lol:

You know, with all the talk about power supplies for the Eagle a while back, I got to thinking.

People really like the direct plug because it goes right into the unit. It's very streamlined, there is no box weighing down the cord and it makes traveling easier.

But at the same time, using an external power supply has it's advantages too. If it breaks, its a simple fix. The box can simply be replaced without you needing to get a new unit or send the whole unit in for warranty.

I'm a little surprised that everyone is looking at this situation as an "either or", however. Why can't we have the best of both worlds?

I'm surprised more companies don't go with the type of design Nintendo used in their Nintendo 64. The "Reverse Wall Wart" so to speak. You have an external power supply, that integrates seamlessly into the main body of the unit. If it requires replacing, or you need to remove it, it is as simply as depressing a release switch and pulling it out. Until then, it is just another part of the main body of the unit. With the advancements made in PSU technology, these parts could be made much smaller than they were for the N64, and could fit into the Eagle design well.

Great post, but I suspect that you already know the answer to this question: Planned obsolescence.

Not from VXC but from "more companies" so to speak. On a side note I can't believe that I spelled obsolescence correctly on the first try, pure luck!
