@enrico

is there any risk of electrocution from putting our metal dabbers into the crater holes? the "red eye" is ceramic so thats pretty sake I assume... but could that ever happen?

I recall Enrico mentioning that everything inside is encapsulated, so you don't have to worry about jabbing tools in there. Looks like it may be ceramic encapsulated in steel...

I've also been poking in there like crazy, to test it out. See how much I love you guys? :D

there was discussion as to the difference between vaping and sublimating.
the magic seemed to be mostly happening in that bottom section.
to test the difference i was suggesting that.
if that makes sense.
glad to hear the analog version works great as well

It would be interesting if someone could try to put an Extreme Q in the Atomizer :science: I think they may fit together.

so at normal flower temp we are around 165f-190f on the outside of the heating unit and around 120-135 for the atomizer where the herb goes (material chamber). and the glass was around 100

gosh, that temperature seems very low. i thought someone else had mentioned around 450°F. the metal should be the same temp as the heater, no? IR thermometers need to be calibrated for the material being measured. that's why i suggested a contact thermometer, where the heat sensor is touching the part being measured. thanks for the report.

Seems another person was kind enough to take some measurements and post a video of them.

Ive been noticing the tube has started to bend on top and is starting to restrict air flow, any suggestions where to buy medical/food grade pvc tubing? Im in vancouver BC, I noticed in that video with Enrico in china that he had also changed his tubing on top to a yellowish colored 1.

Don't get PVC, it sucks. Look for silicone.

I'm thinking the only change Enrico made to his tubing is use it a whole bunch. ;)

Wish I didn't need a passport to get over the border, I'm only about 2 hours from Hamilton.
Hmm, maybe Lake Ontario, anyone have a boat they can smuggle me across in? :brow:

I think that the magic happens in the upper and lower parts equally; the thermal mass of the upper part provides instant full-spectrum extraction, and that seems to be quite unique to the sublimator.

I do wonder if titanium will heat up faster, also will it hold the heat as long as stainless steel.

The other unique quality is obviously the atomizer, which works with an inhale-generated vortex to break down the vapor particles into a much finer mist enabling more efficient biological absorption.

So in my mind there are three unique qualities to medicating with the sublimator:
  • thermal mass equilibrium enabling instant full-spectrum vapor extraction
  • vortex generation enabling concentration of the vapor ingredients for
  • atomization of the vapor enabling better biological absorption
Just my :2c:

Allrdy gone and bought Happy Daddy Titanium concentrate tool.. /cry

I can totally recommend the UFO kit. I was interested in the Mercury kit as well but on a tight budget so went with the UFO and a cheap bong instead. I have the feeling the UFO could serve both purposes outdoor campfire or torching quite well. The UFO has some sort of metal mass making it retain heat a little longer (Sputnik doesn't have this! Thats why i got UFO) so u can do some hits in a row, it also has the handling chain which i think is a plus over the Sputnik which needs a pliers to be handeled. This is my view on it others maybe disagree but i think this is best buy when u go for camping kit.
I recommend oven mittens... OR a goddamn super focus when using this thing :D!!!
First day i allrdy grabbed it by the chain too close to the heating element :p omg that was hot! i could see the chainlinks in my skin. Don't let this scare you tho :) this kit is everybit as good as the electric.. Just analog :) and if you would like? get yourself a thermometer and pinpoint exact temperatures :D to vape on. After a while you could just time your heating with the torch for example for a correct heating every time.. i dunno whatever rocks your boat ;)

That happy dappy tool seems first rate. I have a vapetool that should get me by until the moon is out.

As far as the available options it's a bit confusing, but this is what I've come up with:
  • It seems that the space travel kit the same as my le kit with the shorter tube?
  • Is the ufo kit the same as the keychain kit?
  • All I would need for off the grid operation is the sputnik, which is not available by itself?
  • Likewise the keychain kit includes an atomizer that I do not need going by the pic?
  • The 14 & 18 mm adapt a bong are the same unit with different teflon adapters on the atomizer?
It would help if planet vape got their shit together with the pictures, this was the best I could do going back and forth from their site and sublimator's.

I think this is an amazing unit that will inspire even more amazing units to come!

  • Seems you're right about first
  • UFO kit is campfire kit and keychain kit is Sputnik to my understanding what i can make out of the pictures
  • Sputnik is keychain kit so prolly seperately available. I was even told you could get the heater part solo or he was gonna try to get that done. So if you'd have the desktop unit you'd be settled with the atomizer from there.
  • answer given previously
  • Yes i think so about the adapters. Just the teflon being different size.

I'm not sure, here's why:

- the keychain kit and the ufo kit are the same~ price, so I still think that they may be the same thing.

- no info yet on the sub's kk page, but pv's uk page says it includes:
(1) Original and Authentic Surgical Stainless Steel Sublimator UFO
(1) Original and Authentic Surgical Stainless Steel Sublimator 18mm or 14mm Atomizer

- where does the name campfire kit come from, perhaps it's an unofficial nickname for the above products, which actually may be the same product, so three different names for the same kit?

- I hope that the sputnik will be available separately but from pv's description above it comes with an atomizer and there's no info on the sub site but a pic that includes the atomizer.

So it's still a bit confusing but I believe you're right about the adapters!

Well i suppose it might be a bit unclear still as to what is going on there with the Sputnik and the UFO. They are both the same unless a little bit different in design. But i can't give more answer then that im afraid :/

Campfire kit is something I threw out prolly in a Sublimated Blaze :ko: sry bout that hehe
Essentially the UFO is the campfire kit :) The heater cap has a Steel mass tahts only thing different opposed to the Sputnik. And it has a Steel Chain to handle it when hot and u wanna use.

The info i got was thru email and well I'm not sure if it will happen cause this was a question of mine to them :p If i could just get keychain kit or just the heater cap even and then the adapt-a-bong with the atomizer. That way it would be lighter on the wallet.

Yeah I would be quite interested in the sputnik part (with the chain) along with the shorter acrylic travel tube. So hopefully those will available separately so le purchasers can avoid redundancy.

For home use, I just fashioned cavemanned a counter-balance for the big tube, it's not very stable out of the box depending on where the handles are.

But it's "rock solid" now lol:

I noticed on planetvape that you can order the UFO without the atomizer for $119.95, not a bad deal for someone that already owns a Sublimator to be able to just use the atomizer that came with it and have an option for when you have no power source.

Just placed an order with a couple extra grills. I live in mortal fear of losing mine, it's like the size of a contact lens and I'm constantly dumping it onto the table.

I'm really stoked (did I just say that?) to get an off-the-grid option of this quality!

I've got a jet lighter, a mini-torch, a plumbing torch, a firepit, and some hookah coals lying around so we shall see. My money's on the firepit and the plumbing torch.

A hibachi might be kind of cool, grill up some tasty marinated skewers while we're at it :p
