Arizer Solo

Rec'd my GonG ,was impressed with its performance, only problem it was a bit tuff to pullout to clear the can and I pulled hard , came out of can and out of Solo and it bounced out on the counter and fell to the floor where it shattered into pieces.I waited a full 2weeks for it and it lasted all but 2 bowls worth. My questions 1. are there any other vendors making these GonG's,how bout Arizer ?,do they make that GonG a bit longer? I have big hands and that piece is small,it can be managed but was just wondering what I could do for a fix. I ordered 2 more GonG's, 2.) wish I could find a piece of glass tubing about 2 " w / a 14mm f/m on one end and a 14mm male on the other.Kinda like a coupling,my fingers are too big to try to play with that little piece, as I said it can be managed, but I figured maybe some one knows of a fix

Also, has anyone attempted taking a dremel to a stock stem and making the air channels around the bowl area? If so, what type of bit or what wheel did one use? Thanks fellow vaporists:peace:

I have made the homemade turbo, you can see pic's a few pages back.. I used a dremel tool with a round diamond tipped bit, if the speed on my dremel went 1-6, then i would use about 2-3 while modding my stem. i cut groves and opened up the glass screen. If your handy with tools im sure you can do it... at least i managed to D.I.Y.
And i'm not entirely sure about this.. but i believe planet vape takes custom glass orders.. maybe you can get one of the long stems made custom, but thats just an idea... for now ;)

I just used a cut-off disk to put 6 shallow groves in the end. I then ran my torch over the cuts and let it cool. I don't have groves up the sides and get fine performance.

Well a few questions/suggestions.

Do you have a hi temp o-ring? Seems like PV is including it with all gong purchases now.

If you have the o-ring then here is how I use my gong, I dont touch the gong when clearning my water pipe instead what I do is rock/wiggle the arizer (gently) while pulling out. This seems to break the water seal (?) or vacuum that seems to make the solo hard to clear. If I pull straight out without wiggling then what happens is im left with my water pipe with gong still attached and a solo in hand without gong. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature.

AHH the learning curve again! Thank you bro, didnt know,I'm cursed, I have monster hands and a bit on the arthritic side,my finesse is a bit on the rough side at times w/my paws. I have read a few times not to twist joints, didn't do that but it did do as you said and stayed attached to the Solo I lifted (o ring on board too) the solo which was inverted and in a millisec. the piece released hopped on the counter and fell to the floor:doh: no fun!

You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
So I got my solo back! Noticed right away how efficient this bad boy is compared to my VG coil. But two packs of the solo and one VG coil and I'm feeling spectacular! Missing my PV gong pretty hard though, got some tubing from the old ssv, can use that with the straight stock. Still not the same, I'm already expecting though....

Well this is kinda funny. Tonight I went to try out my new gong that came in the mail, the trick does not work the gong fits in very lose even with the ring. I didn't use it and am going to contact planet vape. Hopefully it's just mine and not a design change

yeah i was saying to my self, damn this thing isnt as snug as the 2 stems that came w/unit and on that note, the curved is the best fit on my Solo, the straight is a bit loose and floppy when it heats up after the 1st sesh and so was the gong. Im trying to find a grommet of sorts that i could feed the non bowl side up thru the side of a stem and hold it in nice and secure.Saw a post of a dude whose stem busted or gong but he went on to find a grommet that held the stem in nice and secure and was having great success w/ it. it could hold the stem in any position you place it in which in this case.............

what I was doing was leaving about an 1/8 of an inch pulled away from the chamber floor which gave me great airflow I needed when pulling thru a WT,but as the unit heated up the Solo would not allow me to make that small air gap,it would proceed to go all the way down to the floor of the chamber cutting off the extra air flow and remember the unit is inverted,so the weight of the unit falls down onto the stem once its heated up good..I guess thats what the 6 grooves cut into the stem provide,a bit more flow.I also started using the screens that came w/gong.they are considerably a larger weave allowing more air flow as well, the S/S ones I have are good but i think too fine especially if you grind a bit more on the finer side, and with a good seal on WT it makes it almost impossible to draw, the gong re-leaved that issue and I was stoked, but Im going to try to see if GLASS BLOWERS DIRECT could make my sort of a coupling.Planet Vape,I cant ever get them on the phone, just wish they just made the gong a tad bit longer say an inch.I do understand they were most likely thinking lower center of gravity will be best since most of us do invert the unit when using WT's and might also plug in front of the WT where having the lower center of grav will work much better than if it were high(one reason i love the bubbs with the stemless going right down the middle,no chance of out of balance, sits up nice and secure) .Curse these Frankenstein mits of mine, forget about fine motor skills and delicate issues, like small springs and tiny gongs:disgust:

a few hours later>>>>>>

NEWS FLASH PV has agreed to making me longer GonGs due to my gorilla paws and he (Robert) said it was actually easier to make them bigger than shorter, PROPS to SOLO MAN for the heads up on PV doing custom work, that was excellent info!! so if any one feels that they need a a bit more to grab on the GonG , they will make em for ya at no extra cost.

Sounds suspiciously like a discharged battery to me. It boots up fine but when it gets to battery check it tilts out and shuts down?

What happens when you put it on the charger?

no, but I did disable sound a while ago.
So it doesn't beep even when sound is on? When I first got my solo I was making the silly mistake of turning it on and off too quickly without realising because the sound was off, but you sound too experienced for that mistake.

Received my PVHE Turbo Gong and power adapter in the post today! Must say I'm very impressed with the airflow and how easy it is to blow big clouds! The power adapter just saves me waiting around between sessions for it to charge :) Also the shipping was a lot quicker than I expected for delivery to the uk, less than the expected times. Thanks planetvape.ca

I don't think beep or lack of it is the issue. Nor is it the 'turned off before it starts issue' since it goes part way thought the self test before faulting out on it's own.

Not that he can turn beep back on to try it of course.....at least not yet.

First step is, I think, to look at charging (which is a separate routine for the Solo that doesn't require a charged battery to start with?).

something like that
When i put it on the charger the blue light blinks and then light on no.7 blinks and then again blue light and no.7 and so on.

Well i cant turn the sound on so I cant say if its beeping

Seeking My Shangri-La
Snappo heres a bit on that and this is in no way of me doubting what works for you but I always thought the lung would process what ever is held captive there so why wouldnt holding it longer allow for more absorption of the medicine?.I am curious. In another time of my life trauma and death were enemies of mine and had to battle them,so some times I have had to administer drugs ,thru ENDO TRACHEAL tubes, pts had little vascularity left or they would blow due to a lot of factors and you had to admin as you would the same amount mg's as if you were going with IV access, leading me to believe that absorption in our quest w/THC would only be accomplished by holding the hit in longer.I do not know of a system in the cardio pulmonary circuit that would be able to cut off absorbing and assimilating what ever is held captive in those organs. .BUt its fun as hell to milk that badboy up and keep hitting it and then pull the stem and holy shit , the rush that follows,I swear the earth stands still..:o

WildChild that info helps tremendously,so in theory and in fact we are convection primarily and A small % will be lost while user is idle due to some conduction. I must admit I have oldtimerz disease and I know leaving a bowl unattended is going to happen. ................:peace:
I'm no Spring Chicken myself and can pretty much count on forgetfullness regularly. Seriously, though, those little stem caps help prevent any loss... And yes...you nailed it with the convenction/conduction statement.

OK, thanks for the additional information. It's looking like a charge issue to me. If you had one, I bet the PA mode wouldn't work either (dead battery in the Solo at this point for whatever reason).

I assume you have limited resources? That is no friends with working Solos, digital meter, other chargers, etc?

I'm busy with other stuff right now, but let me think a bit about cracking mine open and seeing if I can force this to happen for me (like with a defective battery). I assume it's out of warranty?

The videos helped, thanks for that too.

unfortunately I dont have any friends with solos or chargers, but I could borrow digital meter from my father if it would help in any way.
it should be still under warranty (bought in april) but my mom lost the warranty paper thingy (sorry not native english speaker) when she took it from me (got it back a few days ago)
so your saying my battery is probably dead, so the solution would be changing it? or would i also have to buy a new charger?

oh and I realy, REALY appreciate your help.
