Discontinued The Sublimator

As far as the company name, URL and box indicate, 'beyond vaporization' is the tag line that goes underneath 'Sublimator'.

The variation in font style and size confirm this notion.

i do not mean you guys, it,s just that the moderator change the full name of my product . they took it down to( sublimator ) alone it is hard for you to understand but the name of the product was there they choose to take it down . it makes it hard for me to endorse " dont you think?

Ah - now that makes a lot more sense!

I'm sure that a moderator will change your product name to whatever you like as soon as they see your request.

You could PM pakalolo or one of the other moderators to make sure they see the request. :-)

Just noticed that the UFO is now in stock at planetvape:tup:

I am trying to wrap my head around this concept.

As far as I understand, it will essentially look and perform like the portion of the Apollo Heater that actually sits in the Atomizer.

But what I don't understand, is that the Atomizer is meant to be at the same temperature as the Apollo (thermal equilibrium); if the UFO is just the heater part and has been tossed in the fire to get white hot - the Atomizer is still going to be cold. Now, if you were to add the heated element to the Atomizer, yes, it would start to transfer some heat, but the overall thermal equilibrium will not be at the temperature the Apollo came out at (granted, that's probably too hot to avoid combustion), but one has no way to know when both pieces will both be at an equilibrium temperature that allows for optimal sublimation (if it is even at all possible).

out of gold let,s do the math 250 grams (apollo) @ 1500$ a an oz your a little off,

No need to get snippy, I just asked a simple question. Granted I did do it in a sarcastic manor? Maybe it was my delivery? Let me ask again. What makes the atomizer worth $120 just by itself? Is it the materials? Or the concept/what it does? I mean I'm using other vaporizers in this price range to compare and this just doesn't add up? This is all assumption as I have never used it before, but that is why this forum is here is to ask questions? Right?

And JMHO if your going to sell a vape remember that you can't always please everyone so your going to have to take some constructive criticism and thicken your skin a little in order to survive. Once again JMHO

you have to heat it up the chained unit in the fire once first when it's hot
put it on the atomizer dry for 2 to 3 minute and then back in fire while your loading then from the fire to the atomizer, works every time if your apollo isn't red

Oh okay! That would definitely allow for more uniform heat distribution - thanks for the clarification!

Let me ask again. What makes the atomizer worth $120 just by itself?

As far as the question regarding costs goes - one thing that struck out to me was a comment a couple of pages ago regarding the size of production; given this is the first roll-out of the Sublimator, I am sure that they weren't produced in bulk to the point of being able to avail of economies of scale.

In addition, all the metal is made of surgical grade stainless steel - and it is all produced in Canada, a first world nation.

Generally speaking, most production of that nature is outsourced to China to avail of a lower overall cost of production - I wouldn't be surprised if the machining and material resources for such a small batch of specialized machinery costs quite a bit when you have to take into account that the manufacturing process is on North American soil and thus needs to meet a dozen regulations that it may otherwise not have.

Looks like Pakalolo has already very efficiently added the 'Beyond Vaporization' tag back on to the thread. ;-)

From my understanding, I think you are supposed to:

  1. Heat the "UFO"
  2. Place on your atomizer for a while(to create the equilibrium)
  3. Remove "UFO"
  4. Reheat
  5. Place on atomizer again(with enough time given to cool to "sublimating" temperatures)
  6. Load
  7. Take your draw
Edit: Enrico chimed in before me. :)
Edit of edit: forgot the most important part, loading :D.

look all your question are valide .but the way you sensationalise your non understanding of the price of canadian craftmanship 10 years warranty by comparing it to gold ,

you can watch the UFO being heated w/torch here (looked to me like the torch may have been low on fuel, so it wasn't burning hot enough) but it's a good demonstration to understand how it needs to be heated, skip ahead to about the 20min. mark...

You still haven't answered my question? What I compared it to is over with at this point?

The atomizer is a rather integral part of what makes the Sublimator work. So it's no surprise it has a "hefty" sum attached to it. Recently, I'd broken the glass(internally) of my Vriptech Heat Wand, a replacement of that glass would cost about 120USD. Rather expensive for such a small thing that's far more prone to breakage than an atomizer could be, right?

You guys just need to chill and take a dab of the slab :spliff:

I'm a complete n00b when it comes to dabbing - would I be able to just use the glass stirrer tool that comes with the Extreme Q to poke some Sublimate into a crater?

Is there any reason I ought to be using a Ti dabbing tool?

Any pointy object that's resistant to heat will work!

Thanks for the credit but it's misplaced. Another moderator has been at work, although I would have changed it had I seen Enrico's comment. We don't want to lose him. ;)

This for everyone discussing the cost. I've posted about this in other manufacturer's threads. The price is a business decision based on factors that include lots of factors besides the cost of materials. R&D and marketing costs have to be recovered, for example. Anyone who feels that the price is too high is free to choose not to spend the money. You might feel that it should be cheaper but really, this is a capitalistic society and it's not your business what the manufacturer's profit margin is.

Also...if people would read the thread...Enrico has stated numerous times that he does not control the pricing. If he could give them away with hotcakes and a cup of coffee for $5 on your morning commute.

I'm sure he would be standing out there in the Canadian cold, just for the chance that MAYBE people just MIGHT be happy with his invention.

Like Pak said you dont like the shit brown cord on the adapt-a-bong for $500 or the fact that new ones have a timer? Dont buy it.That simple.

Dont go knocking Enrico when he has said he doesn't have control over the price of the units on numerous occasions. He is here because he wants to be here, and WE COLLECTIVELY as a community have asked him to come back.

Please keep in mind nothing requires him to be here.

Plus he has to see the impersonation video I've been working so hard on!!

Actually, this has nothing to do with complaints about the cord, as far as I'm concerned. Consumers have every right to point out what they deem as flaws in the product, as long as it is done constructively. Yes, we have a right not to buy the product, but those of us who did buy it, also have the right to discuss what we do not like about it as well.

and all I did was ask a question. ok sorry about the gold comment I was kind of being a sarcastic prick(what I do best! lol) and for that I'm sorry. I would be offended by my comment to if I had so much pride in joy into it. So IDK who was knocking Erico, he's awesome! I'm just curious
