Ok im all new to the forums...how do I insert the pic off my computer? And Im pretty sure mine was caused from the o-ring forcing it down as it heated up and doing it repeatedly caused it to crack. Also another reason why Im sure Kevin cant help me! I also have had the hardest time finding one of those high-temp rated o-rings cuz the regular silicone ones suck. Everywhere I've asked so far doesn't even know they exist! If I can get this stupid retaining ring replaced and find the o-ring I need Ill be set! Wish I had never even bought Ed's Wood stem for my solo and my vape wouldn't have gotten so stretched out and wouldn't have need the o-ring in the first place! UGH! lol. but anyways please help me so I can go back to vaping in peace!

how is that for service 3 answers right in a row. for the o-rings, you can get them from planetvape.ca under the solo section. you will need one for my mod that I'm thinking about. Most likely you won't find what you need locally and you are looking for a normal silicone ring rated for high heat, if it is red then you have the right one, black is bad in this case but that isn't silicone anyway it is a different rubber. if you want to check for though nd if this will work though, you can get a normal size 113 o-ring from the hardware store (dont use it with this though because you run the risk of it off-gassing. First off, welcome to the Forum and all the fun, you already know how good Solo is......
I think you may be OK if we can get a ring to seal it? Worth a try anyway....
PM me and I'll mail you a few of the magic rings. I'm part owner of another bag of them already and I'm curious if the 113 ring will correct this. It might call for a slightly larger one and removing the factory seal? But let's start with simple......

OK funk here is my opinion fwiw. If I stick with the three areas you are concerned with I think you have an easy winner.
taste-solo
thriftiness-solo but INH isn't bad
coolness of vapor-solo but you can extend the air path on the INH to make it better.
Now if you want to add to the mix you have the first line of TET products so you know about there stealth and such. I find it hard to use the solo for stealth so the INH wins in that hands down. Loading and unloading on the go is easier in the INH. Battery life I don't think is an issue with either one. I recon the INH in looks to the TET products so if you are comfortable outside with that it should be about the same.
As far as ed's stem you will taste the wood and it is also very very hot for along period of time. I used it for a week and after a few burns I stopped. I have touched the glass stem and it hot but it warns you in a respect before a burn. it also cools off way faster.
If you have really specific questions other then your three areas feel free to ask here or in PM. Remember these are my opinions and experiences. Also the INH is no longer available and there is still some issues with the xp and they aren't even available at the moment to new buyers. They are busy trying to get all the warranty returns taken care of cause it was a colossal fail on releasing it to early. I am not even sure I think the xp, from reading, is better the the 04.

I meant to post more earlier but got busy with work. I agree with OF that more than likely your problem can be solved with just addingan o-ring right over the existing cracked retaining ring. I did take some pictures of taking the top of the solo apart earlier but I don't have time to upload abd post then all now. what my suggestion was going to be is to take the retaining ring out of the unit as I had done in the picture you quoted yesterday then carefully take a razor and cut off the top half in my picture but cut it through the narrowest part so you will still have a lip to hold up the ring then put it alll back together. if this doesn't make sense or if you are anyone else want to see the pictures step by step to remove the retaining ring let me know and I will post them but I can't until later today or possibly even tomorrow.

close, but dont sandwich, just throw out the upper half of the retaining ring. that's why I didn't want to do it on my unit which has the full ring intact. really you shouldn't have to cut much off the retaining ring to make this work abd it would allow those with the fat caps to screw them on all the way instead of having to stop shortClouded, just for people to understand...if I can understand then all can. Are you suggesting to cut out the middle of the ring and sandwich the new red one in between the pieces with the lip so it doesn't slide? If not carry on.

Just got done working on my SMA.
My floor is completely padded and protected.
Refitted my cabinet doors to have better clearance with the flooring. (had to re-stain and finish)
As my glass collection grows so does my need for protection from my KLUTZ ATTACKS!
Doing some wood shop today and my wax pens are my go to devices while I'm tinkering.
FLOWERS are my reward after the saws are turned off.
My SOLO through a water path is so tasty.
I may just use every device I own and have a multitude of sessions.
2 more hours then it's medication madness!

Help me out, FC. I just need some basic advice on buying a SOLO and don't have time to read 600+ pages of this thread.
I'm sick of waiting for the damn Ascent so I'm going to be buying a SOLO for my 1st portable vape TODAY! I found a local headshop that sells it for $250 with a 15% discount for MMJ card holders. That makes it only $212.50 so does that mean they're not an authorized dealer because it's sells for less than 220something? I really don't want to ask them because that's like asking any salesman any question. You should never do it.
So the warranty is a must-have for me. Also, how will I know it's not an older unit. I read something about newer versions that had improvements so I would hate to get an older one. Is there a way I can tell without opening up the box?? Perhaps there's a date or serial number I could look for. I doubt they'll let me open up the box.

I now have my PVHE gong 14mm and my PA. Running through the PN WT the taste is amazing! Although I now find I can blast through a bowl a lot faster and get less vapor than before? Seems the first hit or 2 is huge then it thins out. This is using fine grind with screen full bowl packed a little. Tried it with a nug and same results. Not that I am complaining but without the water attachment it would take me two back to back 12min sessions and I was still getting vapor. I am also finding this from temps 3-7.

I would pick up some 1/2" screens and caps for the stems. They also sell an adapter that will allow the Solo to be used while plugged in, although I hardly ever use mine.
I haven't had to use an o-ring yet but do own a couple of the PVHES stems. To be honest, I don't like them...prefer the draw on the stock stems that come with it. Just my opinion, although some prefer the PVHES stems.
