Discontinued Gn0me - lighter based vaporizers

Just be careful working with propane.
I believe it burns hotter than butane, and if you try to heat it too quick you can break the glass from thermal shock.

Either way, enjoy Gnoming :)

My friends call me "Menz"
i have two butane torch's. one is a Bed, Bath, and Beyond Creme Brulee (nitro copy) and i have a very small, about the size of your palm torch lighter. i know the big torch will work, but is it too much??? is the palm sized one powerful enough to work without having to wait forever?? i have a Gn0me on the way and i am curious.

Thanks in advance

Turned allll the way down, it actually heats slower than my butane torch if I turn it low enough.
Yeah, if you're careful it will be fine, I just remember Calen posting that he broke a couple using them with propane torches in the shop.

I use a Creme Brulee torch whenever I use my gnome, it's quicker to heat-up than a palm sized torch, but easier to get to combustion temps.
I found with a palm torch I had to keep the flame on during the hit, while with the brulee torch I could just heat it to higher than the temp I wanted, let it cool for a few seconds, then hit it with no further heating.

I only have two torches, a Ronson Jetlite and the baby propane tank with the torch nozzle.

Far as I'm aware the Jetlite is pretty much the smallest/cheapest butane torch available, and I can get it to heat my Gnome about the same speed as my Propane torch on it's smallest settings.

So yeah, long as you're able to take out the blocks so you can turn it as far up or down as you like, you don't really have to worry about it being too small.

Cotelio,
I've been using the same GonG Gnome vape as my daily driver for over a year. Keep it clean, only heat the dimpled section and it won't break. I enjoy 10-12" heat up times with a Bernzomatic MAP torch (the yellow, super-duper hot tank) which, besides from being a more efficient and even heat source, is about four to five times faster than a rinky-dink butane torch. Unless you're traveling, do yourself a favor and get a torch like this http://www.bernzomatic.com/item.html?id=18.

I have to use 2 of my small butane torches. Funnel requires WAY bigger heat than my former Slider. As I posted earlier in this thread, I was able to heat Slider from a residual heat coming from above a toaster. Well with this beast, and I mean the Funnel, you must have a proper torch. Unfortunately, I have only small torches and didnt plan to invest for bigger one. I use $3 Jim Beam and a torch that came with Vapocane both for preheating and just one for direct draw inhale is enough for me and my tasteful hits. However maybe double torch can be good choice? Does anybody have some experience?
I wonder if any of the most expensive electric vapes are able to have such disclosed, short and transparent all-glass vapor path as gn0me. Isn't it even better than having the herb enclosed in some electric device with cables, screws, metals, plastic parts? I just don't see any reason to spend more for a vaporizer.

I busted out my gnome last night :D, I was using a 14mm Y adapter, and a 14mm stopper as a carb.
I prefer that set up over pulling the gnome itself to clear the piece.

I was pretty happy, I haven't used my gnome for a few months, I was expecting to maybe accidentally combust a load getting back into the swing of things, but I got my bud perfectly cooked (maybe a bit overdone, but no combustion ) every time.

Sadly, I heard a couple of the dreaded "tinks" of glass cracking at one point, and after the heat exchanger cooled, I had a look at it, and I've got a crack starting to form in there :(. It still works for now, but I'm not looking forward to the day the hot heat exchanger breaks :|
I wanted to get one of those new funnel style gnomes anyway, so I might have to get a new heat exchanger too.
Somewhat annoying that my gnome is on its last legs, but its an excuse to get a new one :D

I received both my Gnome Sliders a few days ago and they are really nice. They are fun to use, and other than a few bits and pieces in your mouth, it is really a bad ass vaporizer. No combustion to this point with probably close to 15 uses. IMO, this is the best inexpensive vaporizer I have used. The stealth level is very low, not something you would want to hit in public, but the speed that it heats up is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an inexpensive vaporizer that gives killer hits!

Sadly enough, I have already broken one of them, a drop to the floor is usually devastating! I am sure glad I bought the 2 pack!

Thank you for the great service Caleb, I appreciate it!

how do you use the new concentrate pipe? Calen sent me one and I'm not sure how to use it..
I think you just put a little bit of concentrate in that "bowl" area, and just smoke it like a pipe?
If you do a little bit of digging in this thread, I'm pretty certain another member got one and figured out exactly how to use it.

In other news, I shot Calen an e-mail the other week, double checking if there was a warranty or anything on my cone heat exchanger (I wasn't hopeful, as I've had it for quite some time, but it doesn't hurt to ask).
I mentioned in the e-mail that I was interested in grabbing a funnel Gnome along with the replacement heat exchanger (to save on shipping... Like I need an excuse for another vape ;)) and long story short, Calen has offered to throw in the replacement heat exchanger for free with the funnel :D

Hells yeah

Cookie had one of those concentrate pieces and he talked to me about it some. I think you hit it like a crack pipe iirc.

Stu,
Hey I ordered my gn0me slider vape on july 31st, anyone know how long it takes to arrive? I've emailed Calen and I've gotten no replies. :/ A bit worried right now.

It takes awhile. These aren't premade, these are blown by Calen as orders come in. I believe I waited around two weeks.

Deadshort480,
Alright, so I still haven't got it which isn't what worries me. What worries me is that I never got any replies when I e-mailed Calen multiple times. It seems to me that everyone here gotten theirs so I guess I shouldn't be worried, but still. Can someone reassure me w/ some facts here?

Sometimes Calen gets a bit behind on e-mails and such, a trend I've noticed with glassblowers (they're too busy creating art;))

Calen hasn't gotten back to me since my last e-mail a few weeks ago, I'm not worried, but if you are getting a bit worried, it couldn't hurt to send a quick e-mail asking for a progress update.

Once you get your gnome you'll see it was worth the wait

Frederick McGuire,
Alright man, thanks. As long as it's not unusual for him to take this long. And yeah I haven't vaped in forever so this should be fun :D. That's why I'm so impatient too, I'm tired of combusting :/.
